Title: The Fog Of War: Eleven Lessons from the Life of Robert S. McNamara (Cool Doc.)
Post by: Javier on October 24, 2004, 10:03:00 PM
Has anybody seen this film?  Robert S. McNamara talks about the Cuban Missile Crisis to Vietnam...its very interesting and it has "11 lessons" McNamara has learned.

1. Empathize with your enemy
2. Rationality will not save us
3. There is something beyond
4. Maximize efficiency
5. Proportionality should be a guideline in war
6. Get the data
7. Belief and seeing are both often wrong
8. Be prepared to reexamine your reasoning
9. In order to do good, you may have to engage in evil
10. Never say never
11. You can't change human nature

Some people have tied some of these lessons to the current administration, for example number 5 and 8.  Thoughts?

Yeah I saw it... It was a good movie.  I actually briefly mentioned it in another post.

Here is the official website for the movie's product.

The Fog of War was made by the same guy who developed the Apple Switcher Commercials... and also the Republican Switcher commercials which can we been on the link above.

But yeah I agree this was a dope movie, and much better than his commercials.  I give a lot of respect to McNamara too for being so critical of his own career.
