I have a feeling this won't be the real album because the release date is still too far away. This album prolly wont' really leak for at least another week.

The title "Gansta" mnakes it questionable to me, but I'm still queuein it up right now, Slot 17 8)

lol
I hope its not as bad is it looks like it will be....
I dont think "Masterpiece" is gonna be the appropriate title for this album
-
" this track with JustinT is Gay with a capital G "
-
" this track with JustinT is Gay with a capital G "
haha maybe the G on the title stands for gay and not gansta...i think it would better describe this album 8)
-
Well i got all the songs and i dind't hear a lil jon song, the one with nelly wuzn't on there, the one with 50 cent wuzn't on there, and bang out wasn't on there and 3 songs that are on this arent' on the real version of the cd.
-
Uncle Rio is on there
Daz is on there
Charlie Wilson is on there
and What the fuck Raphael Saadiq is on there too!!!!
The Album is Soft way too soft but the beats are fucking banging
-
wtf is this piece of shiet? not 1 good song on here. Snoop singin about love on like every songs. only good thing on here is the beat to "Signs". if Snoop wanted to make a happy ass love album he could've atleast called Andre 3000 so it would be good
as for the tracklist, here's what I could make out...
01 - Drop it Like its Hot (feat. Pharrell)
02 - Can U Control Ya Hoe (feat. Soopafly)
03 - Step Yo Game Up (feat. Daz)
04 - I'm Threw Witchyu
05 - The Bidness
06 - Perfect (feat. Charlie Wilson)
07 - Let's Get Blown
08 -
09 - No Thing On Me
10 -
11 - Stay
12 - Ups & Downs
13 -
14 -
15 -
16 - Pass it Pass it
17 - Signs (feat. Charlie Wilson & Justin Timberlake)
18 - Girl Like U (feat. Nelly)
im suprised to see not even Nate Dogg on it. No Dre, Kurupt, Warren G, Battlecat, Meech, Fred Wreck - wtf is he thinkin?
I usually buy all Snoop's albums for my collection but I refuse to buy this. matter of fact, I wouldnt keep it if someone gave it to me
-
^^ http://www.dubcnn.com/connect/index.php?topic=60684
LMAO @ Snoop singing duet with Justin T. :D
I don't consider Snoop a rapper any more, this here is in the same category as Nelly, Justin Timberlake or that Murder Inc. singer.
-
its only the advance but im a lil bit disapointed the Justin song is fucking wack...but there is some tight joint like the soopafly track he came hard on that ...but the rest is all about smocking and getting a girl
anyway The beats are good but kind of too smooth...Snoop and Star Trak is not a good match
-
the worst part is....this gonna be snoops worst album, but its gonna be one of his best selling after the lead single's success and he's gonna stick to this formula.
snoop + (neptunes, timberlake, nelly) = platinum
peace
-
ok i just came home from the bars and i am fuckin shocked!
first off, how the hell did this get leaked this fast?
damn i dont know what 2 say but they better move that release date up real real fast, cuz everyone has this shit!
"drop it like its hot" is the hottest single out right now and fuck the haters that think it sux cuz if u dont feel that song then u dont know shit about music cuz my friend is a str8 up backpacker and he loves that joint. so if they move the date up soon then thats a good publicity stunt 2 let it hit the net. this cd is pretty fuckin smooth cuz it lives up 2 its title rhythm and gangster cuz that is what it is man.
and that song wit justin is fuckin bangin, and it will prolly be the second single,,,,,damn guys im fuckin pissed big time at the whole dubcc cuz you are not feelin this shit, that i might actually be done wit dubcc
-
I just got the album and am listening to it as we speak, I'm on track 7, this rip isn't tagged at all, which means it's probably not fake.
I think it's safe to say that there is nothing on this album that represents westcoast music, which is why most of the people here are hating on it, which is understandable. If you look at the album without any expectations of how it's supposed to sound, then I think it's really good. People are complaining it's too smooth, well it shouldn't come as such a surprise, if you look at all his albums since last meal and the chuuch mixtapes, he's been leaning more and more towards this smooth sound more and more. Personally I like it.
As a westcoast album that reps the west, it sucks.
As a hiphop/r&b album, it's pretty sick.
-
Another thing, I agree with a lot of people here saying that snoops isn't really an emcee anymore, he's kind of a hybrid of soul and rap (like Nelly, except it sounds good), so people can keep calling him a wack rapper and stuff, but i think that he's not really an emcee anymore, he focuses on making good songs, and in that area I think he's pretty damn good.
-
^^ http://www.dubcnn.com/connect/index.php?topic=60684
naw they in a different order
"drop it like its hot" is the hottest single out right now and fuck the haters that think it sux cuz if u dont feel that song then u dont know shit about music cuz my friend is a str8 up backpacker and he loves that joint.
that dont mean shiet it still sucks
-
So this shit is straight R&B, straight R&B? Fuck it then.
-
^^no man... i'm listening to it right now and so far i liked all of em. track 4 is a weed song 8)
-
If Snoop aint rappin on this album Im gona be pissed. Im a Snoop fan. I dont wanna put Snoop in the same categorie as a Master P where I respect him but dont like his music.
-
this track with charlie wilson ownz!
-
so what track is daz on?
-
snoop dogg r g rhythm and gangsta the masterpiece 2004 ult tar
oh yeah ut has leaked
-
that track with justin timbarlake is banging
fuck the haters
-
Hope is not as that bad as ya'll say..i'm gonna check it out
-
Another thing, I agree with a lot of people here saying that snoops isn't really an emcee anymore, he's kind of a hybrid of soul and rap (like Nelly, except it sounds good), so people can keep calling him a wack rapper and stuff, but i think that he's not really an emcee anymore, he focuses on making good songs, and in that area I think he's pretty damn good.
Please can you never put Snoop, Nelly and Soul in the same sentence ever again unless there is a negative word in there.
-
number 148 in the queue ::) you have to look dont you. Is this worse than PTCTBTB?
-
i was expecting some wack shit, but its worse than i expected...
this is really wack lol, i mean really wack. the whole album is all about love. the first 3 songs are ok. 1-2 average songs here and there. the rest is below avergage. i mean his flow is cool, hecan flow. but the subject matter is wack, the beats i dont like, and the hooks i dont like.
on pass it, pass it his flow is real dope. but the hook sucks lol. and the song with daz sucks too. this is worse than PTCTBDB lol, defiintely.
i cant believe this is really snoops new solo album lol.
-
q: why does snoop carry an umbrella?
a: fo drizzle
he should be payin his 'fans' to listen to this
-
Pretty good album imo,way better than PTCTBTB.The only thing thats annoying is the whole topic of the album, love & women???C'mon,I understand 2 or 3 songs about this, but not a whole album. Are these the effects of his divorcing with his ex-wife?If so u can tell Snoop desperately needs a woman,some1 to love
-
^ that shit is funny
-
that track with justin timbarlake is banging
fuck the haters
how is it banging? sounds cheap as hell! 80´s pop @ its worst
-
,,,,,damn guys im fuckin pissed big time at the whole dubcc cuz you are not feelin this shit, that i might actually be done wit dubcc
oh, boo hoo lil bitch, u want a tissue?... :'(
aint no one stoppin u from leavin, clown :-*
go get the fuck outta here then :P
-
yall are some hatin ass scallawag ass salamander ass mother fuckers..I aint even heard this shit yet and Im sure I'll like it....If you supported dj quik's transition from safe and sound to rythamlysim than you should understand where snoops trying to take this album...snoop cant rap about gin and juice forever and murder aint been the case in damn near 10 years............hoes

W...T...F
If you didnt hear it then you have no opinion. How is that DJ Quik comparision relevent? He didnt go from West Coast rap to wack ass r&b songs, he had 1 love song and thats it. Snoop aint gotta rap about the same thing but did he have to put out 18 songs about love/woman? Come on.
This shiet makes "Paid the Cost..." seem classic
-
Snoop should be like dre...release once every 5 years...that way we dont get crap like this >:(
and i kinda knew this album was gonna be a flop ;D
-
its just a different style..i love the track with justin and uncle charlie...i've been on this board for 4yrs now and its the same bullshit dubcc pull on snoop's albums so im use to it..i aint even mad at the posts most of u guys make cause its the same people hatin on snoop all the while so it does'nt makes a different..ya'll shouldnt count ya eggs before it hatch...bless up!
-
TOTAL DISSAPOINTMENT! :boohoo:
Snoop has gotten worse and worse for every album droppin!
I thought it couldn't get any worse with "Paid Tha Cost..", but this
is even moe whack, what was Snoop thinking of when he made this?
Total catastophy!
-
i think track 1-6, 10 and 17 are the only tracks with replay value
-

I just heard the shit and Its bangin'...my logic with the quik comparison is at some point you mature and grow and try to step outside the boundries of gangsta rap(like quik did on rythamylism) and while I do enjoy snoops earlier catalog you have to relize if snoop was rappin about french braids and house shoes and blastin on cats and keepin the suge beef goin strong he'd eventually catch the dreaded studio gangsta lable....love is a topic everyone can relate to
-
13-Snoop_Dogg_No_Thing_on_Me-.mp3, ow bwooooy i dig this, rest of the album is soso :-\
-
ain't even gonna d/l this anymore, after all those comments that it's some fuckin love album.. peace.
-
^ dont be a sheep ;)
-
same thing ya'll say about " drop it likes it hot" and now its the number 1 song! DUBCC AINT THE WESTCOAST NOR HIP HOP!!!
-
TopDogg sent me 4 songs. From what Im hearing, half the album is gona be smooth and funky type shit and the other half is gona be gangsta cuts. This is only an advance tho isnt it? Cuz there aint any tracks with Lil Jon, 50 Cent, that S-ndouble-o-p track isnt on it either. And fools are really quick to judge around here because when "Drop it like its hot" came out 95% of people on here said the song was wack and now they all love it and its number one everywhere. DubCC is like a fuckin jar full of haters. Seriously.
BTW, that song "Pass it, Pass it" is fuckin bonkers :o 8)
-
same thing ya'll say about " drop it likes it hot" and now its the number 1 song! DUBCC AINT THE WESTCOAST NOR HIP HOP!!!
so if a song goes to #1 then that makes it good?
ok well then you must love Lil Bow Wow, cuz all his songs were #1 on BET
-
dayem... and i used to like snoop.... this album aint even worth having in the computer..... ill give it another try, then ill probably delete it
-
its better than PTCTBTB....but that was one of the worse albums ever...there's about 4-5 good tracks...the rest are skippers and i dont see how they couldve made the album...and WTF is justin timberlake doing on a snoop album...what a sell out snoop is
-
^The Timberlake cut is one of the best on the CD ??? Why does everyone hate on Timberlake so much? He makes good R&B music.
-
Im not impressed.. After one listen, Step Yo Game up is the only song I listened to without skipping
-
Im not impressed.. After one listen, Step Yo Game up is the only song I listened to without skipping
that track is amazing 8)
-
this was the tracklist from the mtv article:
"Intro - I Love to Give You Light"
"Bang Out"
"Drop It Like It's Hot" (featuring Pharrell)
"Can I Get a Flicc Witchu" (featuring Bootsy Collins)
"Ups & Downs"
"The Bidness"
"Snoop D.O.Double-G"
"Let's Get Blown"
"Every Dogg Has His Day Interlude"
"Step Yo Game Up" (featuring Lil Jon and Trina)
"Perfect" (featuring Charlie Wilson)
"Fresh Pair of Panties On"
"Promise I"
"Oh No" (featuring 50 Cent)
"Can You Control Yo Hoe" (featuring Soopafly)
"Signs" (featuring Charlie Wilson and Justin Timberlake)
"I'm Threw Witchu"
"Pass It Pass It"
"Girl Like U" (featuring Nelly)
"No Thang On Me" (featuring Bootsy Collins)
most of these songs are on there, but the 50 cent one isn't, as well as the interludes. Plus, the songs "stay", "come with me", "no sticks no seeds", and "I miss you" are on this version but are not listed on the official tracklisting, unless they r named differently on this version. so i guess it's an advance copy. but after listening to it, it is pathetic that this album is going to sell because it's straight up pop, and have 2 agree, he has joined nelly in the hip-pop category
-
I hate that first single but I like 6-7 tracks on here
the soopafly song is the best by far.
then track 13, 14, Ups and downs, Promise I, Lets get blown and charlie wilson is tight on that justin cut Signs.
Its a different side of snoop.
-
i hate this bullshit singin shit that half these so called gangstas do..Snoop is the one that got me into rap back in the nothin but a g thing days but everyone be real Snoop has fell the fuck off.iwhos he gonna do a song with next Barbra Striesand? Snoop better not release this bullshit and start new from scratch and get back to rappin or go join B2K.
-
If it's Snoop singing, it sounds like I might actually like it, lol. I'm trying to download it now, as I'm sure you're all just dying for my opinion.
-
If it's Snoop singing, it sounds like I might actually like it, lol. I'm trying to download it now, as I'm sure you're all just dying for my opinion.
I think we all know what you're answer is going to be.
-
No you don't, how could you know that? As critical as I am of immature music, I might like it, I might hate it. Who the fuck are you, anyways?
-
I really hope this is an advance of the album...
I remember there are always these type of things that leak before the real album does.... Last Meal bootleg, PTC bootleg, eastsidaz shit... It always seems like theres some sort of bootleg/advance that comes out before the actual album itself does.
The thing that strikes me, is that there's too much singing, not enough rapping. Snoop's flow is on point most of the time, but theres just too much fucking singing. If I wanna hear some singing shit, I'll buy an R Kelly album. If I wanna hear some raps, I'll buy a snoop album. I'm all for creativity, and exploring new areas of music, but stick with what you know.
I was expecting some crazy next level type shit after hearing the first single, but what we've heard so far is Beautiful outtakes...
-
From what I've heard, it's okay. The beats are pretty good, but Snoop takes away from the songs. And I ain't a damn hater, I have all of Snoop's albums, but he comes weak on this shit. I might still pick it up, though......Maybe it'll grow on me. :)
-
I thought Snoops flow on "Drop it Like it's Hot" wasn't very good at all, it sounded lazy. However, the cool ass hook and the "I got the rolly on my arm" part was so off the hook it saved the song. I'm downloading the album now, so we'll see.
-
Alright, I downloaded it. Just started listening. Track one is tight as shit, sounds much better in Cd quality and not censored like on the radio. Snoop's last verse is just lazy though, but the hook and beat are nice.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Track two is horrible. Beat sucks, flow sucks, concept sucks, everything about it sucks.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Track 3 "The bidness" is off the hook.
"Half dog, half gorilla bitch, Donkey Kong"
LOL Flow is nice. Yall don't like this track?
"I ain't got time for no hatas, I lay 'em flat on they back/I'm from the doggpound homie, I don't fuck wit them cats"
Come on. Give props where props are due.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Lets Get Blown" has a decent beat, and the hook is nice. There's even like some interesting minor harmonies and shit in it, it's pretty well thought out, really relaxing, and while it's obviously doing the Kokane thing, it's not annoying like he was sometimes. Even Snoop's singing part is o.k., but his verses are just lackluster normal everyday Snoop verses he throws on everything. Woulda been better as a "....... featuring Snoop Dogg" song.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Ups & Downs" what the fuck. Beat is wack as shit. It gets slightly better when Snoop starts rapping, but the beat is so amateurish it's annoying and the song can't be saved, IMO. Snoop's problem is usually in being lazy, his lyrics are usually on point, but he needs a decent beat. Even on this shitty song, he comes up with nice rhymes that in better circumstances would work great, he even gets you thinking sometimes
"I used to have a lotta broads that I don't fool with/I used to have a lot of homeboys I ain't cool with/
A lotta people that a nigga went to school with/happy as hell to see the big dogg doin' it...
... But wouldn't none of 'em beleive it though/ that I would be bigger than Kurtis Blow
I guess he was right, these are the brakes/despite my mistakes and aches I'm gettin' Cake"
Simple lyrics and rhymes, but he strings shit together proper and in my opinion he's pretty solid lyrically, if he comes correctly with his flow, which he doesn't in this song.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Stay" has a low quality beat, there's almost nothing there. Snoop's verses are just wack lazy stuff. The hook sounds like a good idea that went bad. "Can I get you to STAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYyy" people don't talk like that, it just sounds stupid. Skiiiiiiiip.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Girl Like U" sounds like Snoop standing in the shower trying to sing a Tevin Campbell song. Nothing interesting at all in this song, all the cool ass melodies from "Lets Get Blown" just ain't here, and he even rips off Steve Miller's "Fly Like an Eagle" @ the beginning. Shitty song
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Promise" could have been nice with whoever that is singing the hook. Snoop's verses aren't horrible, but there's nothing worth relistening to... so unless you're really into the chick singing the hook, you're not going to listen to this song much. She does come across pretty good, though. When Snoop's Ad Libs are the best part of the song, you know it's shit.
"Yeah... Come & Spend a Week With The Black Jack Tripper"
LOL
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Signs" is refreshingly different, if you aren't immediatly turned off by Justin Timberlake singing a hook. Nice fast paced Beat, and interesting hook with a retro- Michael Jackson vibe to it ala~ "Don't Stop Till Ya Get Enough".
Snoop oughta stick to flowing over fast beats, since he sounds 3 times better than on the slow cuts on the album. The immediate attraction to Snoop back in the day at Deathrow to everybody was his double and triple timed rhymes in the middle of verses anyways. He drops back to that a little bit in this song, and it works, in my opinion.
Good song, it would be better if Snoop's verses were longer, though. Justin on the real sounds just like Michael Jackson, lol he's trying pretty damn hard. This is obviously slated to be a single, with Snoop calling out the Neptunes on the song, and of course Justin Timberlake singing the hook on a beat designed to dance to. This will probably do very well on the radio. This is the evidence people will use for the next 10 years when they argue Snoop is a sellout.
Some of the nice shit Snoop drops
"It's legit, you know it's a hit/when the Neptunes and the Doggy Dogg fittin' spit"
"Now you steppin' with a G, from Los Angeles/Where tha Helicoptas Got Cameras/
Just ta get a glimpse of our chucks, and our Khakis and our Bouncin' Cars/"
but the verses only have a few more lines then it's back to Justin. Snoop should have just went all out and flowed for like 3 minutes and this could have been something significant, instead it's just a poppy single that'll pad his pockets but won't do anyting to help him regain his status as a talented emcee.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-
i heard this album in 4 different ways..
1.sober
2.fucked up gone off some drank
3.gone off a ounce of red hair
4. in some moist coota brown..
tell u the truth sober tha album is shit.. but under the influence of some pussy weed and alcohol.. the album is prolly his tightest... advance or not.. its a good under the influence album i tell u what
lol @ the black jack tripper.. umm. he gone have another tx cat dissin him.. 1st its 3-2 now..i hope pimp-c dont get at him kuz pimp-c been jack tripper 4 years..lol..
-
this is a shit album im disappointed in Snoop
-
I really hope this is an advance of the album...

Yea thats my main beef with it, theres just too much singing and love oriented songs on there. It has some nice beats here and there but the west coast feel on Snoops album is gone for good now. This album is not meant for his fans that listened to Doggystyle and Doggfather, I guess if you would play this to some random R&b fans they will like it cause if you look at it from that perspective you get a different opinion
-
for real lets get blown, and ups and downs are pretty tight, the timberlake track ain't even that bad and would be a huge fuckin song if they release it as single (i hope they don't though) ive only heard 4 songs and all are pretty decent, snoop might not be comin the way we normally like to see him come but if the 3 songs we haven't heard are "gangsta" tracks and are mixed in with these i see this being better than paid the cost
-
I only have the chance to listen to the 3 tracks from dubcnn and i got to tell you am really feeling d snoop and daz track.
the other tw i really dont know,i just dont like the idea of justin on a snoop dogg album,I dont mind them working together but on a snoop dogg album, noooooooooo.
the snoop and daz track am listening to it continously.
Will decide when i have the chance to hear more. That will be when dubcnn give more.
peace/.
