Songs so good they can bring you to tears....
1. Nas - "If I Ruled The World" - Nas and Lauryn Hill in the prime of their careers, Fugee's blew up the whole summer that year, Nas needed to go platinum on his sophmore effort, they had great chemistry together, and this song was highly intelligent, inspirational, daring, and mainstream all at the same time. Also came out summer of 96' the best era hip-hop ever had before it's untimely death on Sept. 13th, 1996.
2. AZ- "Sugar Hill" - This track is like an AZ version of Nas "If I Ruled The World". Very worldly track, inspirational, big dreaming but yet appeals to the hood at the same time.
3. Bone- "Crossroads" - Deeply moving song to mourn the Gangsta rap god Eazy E's passing.
4. Eminem - "8 Mile Rd." - This was the apex of Eminem's career, really sums up his life and the middle passage he had to cross to make it to the promise land.
5. Eminem - "Lose Yourself" - Eminem's magnum opus
6. Bone- "Dayz of Our Livez" - This song came from some underworld, the track is otherworldly, puts the mind in a whole nother realm, can make you smile and cry all at the same time.
7. 2pac- "Until The End of Time" - 2pac had many great tracks still left in the tank when he passed, this one is probably the most moving and inspirational, this was the single of his hit album of the same title.
8. Warren G - "This DJ" - Smooth track. Great summertime song. Good production and lyrics that really take you back.
9. Nas- "Dance" - Touching tribute to the passing of his mother. Track can bring you to tears.
10. Slim Calhoun - "Timelock" - I could of said "Worldly Ways" or "Lil Buddy" all three tracks from his debut album stand out as timeless cuts that can bring you to tears.

Surprised someone else agreed with me on AZ. But I noticed you also had AZ later in your list so it seems your a fan of him. "Rather Unique" is another AZ song that could of gone on one of these lists for me. I'll have to check out the song you listed. I also agree with your "California Love (Remix)" and "Triumph" being on there.

No doubt 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) I actually remember seeing the "Sugar Hill" video on YOMTVraps in late 95' and I always loved the song. Then a couple years later a friend of mine had the single in his cd collection and I bought it. Heard "Rather Unique" as the B Side and haven't stopped listening to it ever since.

For my boy Infinite, I'll fill out a top 10. My top 10 always changes, but this is where it is as we stand. Also, I think it's safe to say I have two top 10's in Hip-Hop. I can see why you hate it... LOL... it was on my roommate's mixed CD in 2003 that was labeled his "High Tymes" CD. I was feeling the song before hand, then when my roommate made that mix and we use to blaze one up, basically every song on that list became a favorite of mine. Though only Sing for the Moment made my list... :-/ What can I say, just 10 songs is hard.
