who do you think is the most consistant rapper of our time..?
I think it's redman.. never really heard a wack verse or bad cd of him.
-
Public Enemy.
-
Nas and Scarface
-
Nas and i always thought that all of 2pacs albums were solid lyrically and that he continually improved with each new album.
-
I think E-40 is one of the only vets that is constantly improving.
-
dipset got that piff on the first 1st and 15th erry month, I'd say thats consistent.
-
I don't know about ever, but the lady of Rage never fell off at all
-
Dj Quik :D
-
i gotta go with jigga. either him or em.
-
i gotta go with jigga.
-
Master P. Wack from day one and never improved a bit
-
Redman? Hell naw, Rollercoaster Malpractice was wack & it seems like his new album's going to be wack too.
Public Enemy sorta lost their touch, they can't really make classics like they once did. They're anything but consistant, really.
Nas had one big misstep in his career, which obviously was dropping the Nastradamus album only 6 months after I Am... You can't make classics on such short term. It sucked and now it's hurting his legacy. Other than that, Nas has been one of the most consistent rappers out there (apart from dropping a wack verse on Kanye's We Major).
Or how about Quik, yeah. He's never been great as a rapper but his beats have always been on point and he always comes correct. Easily one of the most consistent rappers out there.
Another one that comes to mind is Common. Has always been dope, and will always remain dope. He's even improving in a major way throughout his career.
I'll agree with Kill though... It's the wack rappers that's always been the most consistent in dropping garbage. Prime examples: Lil Jon, Master P...
-
Outkast
-
MC Ren, I never heard anything by him that I thought sucked
-
Elevz: I agree with most. Common had his better and his worse stuff IMO, he is kind of consistent though.
and as for good rappers, yeah, Outkast take it. Their albums range from incredible to very good and they've got 5 (or 6) out
-
Xzibit
-
Cam'ron and Jim Jones
-
KAM
DEFARI
TASH
JAYO FELONY
TRACY DAVIS

Kool G Rap is definently up there with the most consistant rappers of all time but at the same time his beat selection sucks so his albums haven´t been all that great from an overall perspective. but just as far as the rapping goes he´s definently one of the best and most consistant rappers of all time and i have heard very few wack verses from him and i´ve heard every song he´s done from 1985-2005. Scarface is another rapper who´s also very consistant and he´s definently more consistant then G Rap if you look at other things then just the rhymes(beat selection, song making ability). Bun B is another mc who´s consistant as hell and he´s also dropped very few wack verses from 91-05. but could y´all define consistant a little bit more coz there´s tons of artists who are extremely consistant on the lyrical tip but they aren´t great song makers but still got top notch rhymes and hardly spits any wack verses.
-
Outkast
-
Dj Quik - easily the most consistant rap artist ever...
others are:
Outkast
2pac(was getting better and better until he died)
-
Ludacris is also very consistant...even tho he's not one of the best rappers & he's hasn't been here for a long time
-
I don't know about ever, but the lady of Rage never fell off at all
True...
-
Xzibit, Methodman, Dj Quik, Common, Nas 8)
-
Nas. 'nuff said.
-
Outkast
they went way different when stankonia came out and even more different when The Love Below/Speakerboxx came out i wouldn't really say theyre consistent ::) theyre going back to their ATLiens and Aquemini style though 8)
-
^When is their next album coming out?
-
allhiphop.com told me december
-
Dr. Dre ofcourse...
-
the roots, nas, pac, dre, missy..i like 90-95% of the shit released troughout their careers..
-

I wasn't talking about how consistent their style is, I'm talking quality ::). Outkast has never put out a garbage album. What's also amazing about them is that, unlike most hip-hop artists, they've grown since they're first album and have become more successful than ever.
-
Ludacris. he improves with every album

Yeah "Nastradamus" and "Street Disciple" were ehhhh
-
Ludacris is also very consistant...even tho he's not one of the best rappers & he's hasn't been here for a long time
i was going to say him but then i thought about chicken & beer and i changed my mind.

Really? I thought Chicken & Beer was a great album. One of my favorite Luda albums.

Ludas albums haven't been all that since Word Of Mouf which was great and really the defining point in his career. Chicken & Beer and Red Light District aint shit compared to Word Of Mouf

lol really, i put that down as one of the worst albums ive ever bought
-
I'm surprised nobody has said GZA
-
DJ Quik, E-40, Snoop Dogg, Tash, just to name a few.....
Please tell me you in your right mind didn't just put Snoop Dogg on the list of most consistant rappers. I don't know how you can even think of his name like that... He went from dropping "Doggystyle" and "Tha Doggfather" to "The game is to be sold" and albums like "R&G" and "Paid tha cost" with in the mean time some quite nice albums like "Tha last meal" and "NL Top Dogg", and how about his weak series of mixtapes, or the average shit he did with Tha Eastsidaz? Of course, Snoop's been of great value when he was working with Dre on his projects, but really... I'll nominate him for being the least consistant rap artist of all time. There's no words to describe how hard dude really fell off. He seems really incapable of making a decent album on his own these days.

"Snoop Dogg Presents Tha Eastsidaz" ain't average, it's allmost a classic in my eyez...

Almost as good as Doggystyle or The Chronic?
;D
I think not. But if you like it that much, that's cool, but pleaaase... Snoop is anything but consistant, face it 8)
-
Ghostface Killah,Yukmouth & Gang Starr
-
^^yup! ghostface i def. agree 8)
-
^^yup! ghostface i def. agree 8)
forgot about ghostface def a consitent rapper...Thats what makes him the best in the Clan IMO
-
Paris.
Chuck D.
Esham.
-
yeah snoop in my opinion has fallen off more than any other legendary rap icon in the past decade
-
I'd have to say AZ, The Roots, Scarface, Guru, WC, Rakim, Kool G Rap, Nas did have one misstep but his catalogue still shits on damn near everybody in the game (and Streets Disciple was nice).
-
Most consistent? hmmm im ahave to say JIGGA
-
Ludacris is also very consistant...even tho he's not one of the best rappers & he's hasn't been here for a long time

i tried listening to it again the other day and it wasn't half as bad as i remember it. maybe it just wasn't what i expected at the time. it still doesn't stack up to the albums he did previous to it though.
-

you just won the dumbest post ever
-
Well, Snoop DID fall off hard and he isn't consistent either. As for Tha Eastsidaz' albums, Snoop is very much the weakest link on them, especially on the first one.
For consistency,I'd also like to add RBX. He's been able to spit since day one and he can still do it. Nevertheless,he's an underachiever and has had quite a few moments of weakness.

really, cause not only do i not think its not the dumbers post ever, but i think its a good post, i think the fact that he went from doggystyle to drop it like its hot, makes him 1 of the least consistent rappers
-
GZA always on point every album is a banger

Hell naaw! ! ! But it's really a very dope album, and i have allmost always liked, plus there's only a few skippable tracks, but IT'S NOT CLASSIC though, you right...

Tash

Oh so this thread is all about sales & no music???Re-read the whole fuckin thread.

Outside of the USA... Extince easily takes it. There won't ever be another rapper as consistant as him. Dropping albums since 1998 and they're all exactly the same (really nice but not classic) quality.

I would say Dr. Dre and Jay-Z
