you know, it's funny because i didn't think dubcnn would ever get to interview Dre, as he's so hard to get a hold of,
but i thought the best bet would be Johathan & Chad.

now look what happened  :D

I always knew Dubcnn would be able to interview the good Doctor one day 8)

- The Game situation, why he doesn't work with him anymore
- If he'll release a "making of" DVD for Detox
- Reason for the countless Aftermath delays and push-backs
- What are his future plans after Detox
- Up In Smoke tour II overseas (Europe)

These q's are on my mind right now

See if he'll elaborate on the original chronic 2 album...
ask him if he's done anymore natural born killaz type beats.
His favorite production?
Has he worked with Mel Man recently? Mike Elizondo?
Reunion album with snoop? I mean he produced a whole eminem album...it should be to much to ask for snoop
What roids cycle was he on or is still on?  its too obvious
Detox? Does he have total control over it?  When?  And ask him to give you a 10-20 sec snippet of a detox track.... :P

i'll post more later

I wanna know:

- why did he not work with The Game after The Documentary, will he ever work with Game again
- what sound was he going for on Detox, does he feel that it will be worth the wait/hype and is he satisfied with all of his work for it
- why Daz was not on 2001
- which new artists (any coast) has he been listening to and which would he like to work with
- what does he feel his best work is (not including Detox) since 2001
- why Bishop Lamont has not dropped yet and will he ever, and how much Dre production is actually on the album
- what features will be on the final cut for Detox and who submitted work that was leftover
- why have only a few artists in the last few years gotten Dre tracks (Slim Thug, Trick Trick, etc.)
Title: Re: DUBCNN EXCLUSIVE: THE DR. DRE INTERVIEW
Post by: DTG Entertainment on May 04, 2009, 03:18:37 PM
- How does he feel about the Stat Quo situation?
- What was his favorite part of working on Relapse?
- What does he think of Eminem's new flow?
- What album or project of his so far is his favorite?
- Who is his favorite upcoming artist?
- What can we expect after Detox?
- Will we see any co-production from Khalil or Focus on the album?
- What's the deal with Bishop and Slim?

More coming soon....

some thoughts although these are not articulated into actual questions yet...

connection to dj quik - commenting on quiks current sound and competitiveness to dre

detox sounds - whole new sound? drums, instruments, structure, co-producers, features, lyrical content, release date, scott storch?

any chance he would work with danja in the future?

label sleaze and his control over projects? - busta rhymes big bang, jimmy, stat quo, bishop situation

50 cent curtis album - fire, come and go?...

the switching up of his sound more recently - heard different styles of drums, all kids of low-end use (snoops 'round here') and generally slower paced beats

matty's certified fire recent standout beats and 'co-productions' - outta control rmx, get up, shit popped off

eminem relapse album - among his best work? reasons for sound?

50 cent bishop lamont coming out when? and coming out ever? sound of HIS production on these albums compared to other stuff, scott storch?

i could flesh out any of this stuff though, depends what the angle is gonna be? would be nice if you get to ask some less easy questions...

If he´s involved in any way in the upcoming re-release of The Chronic (with two unreleased songs and ?videos). How many songs from The Chronic recording session were finished but not included on the album. Does Death Row still have all these in their vault?
Title: Re: DUBCNN EXCLUSIVE: THE DR. DRE INTERVIEW

Now that death row has been sold and suge doesnt own it anymore, will he allow the release of songs in their original content on re-released albums. will he be working with lara lavi to bring music out that was sitting in the death row vaults

also, how come the contract with crooked i never worked and would he reconsider working with him in the future to release a project.

how many dre/pac songs were recorded and does he recall any of the names.

how does he feel about immortal finally getting released that sneed was holding on too, and was it a reference track made in the studio for cant c me.

will he ever work with the dogg pound in whole again ie: daz

any chance of a self scientific album from the aftermath since khalil is producing inhouse now

Dubcnn doin an interview with Dr. Dre? Woah! :o Historical, i always thought that Dre don't really wanna do interviews ?

Here's some questions, i could write down 100 of them but here's some questions that we really need the answer for

- Who's workin on "Detox"?
- Is he still workin with Scott Storch and Mike Elizondo?
- Is he gonna be producin Snoop Dogg's new album?
- How does he feel about Crooked I?
- What's up with Up In Smoke II and will they be comin to Europe this time?
- Is he plannin to release his old Death Row material with the label that just bought Death Row's catalog?

How excited is he about DOC's upcoming surgery to repair his larynx?  How would it be to do a track/album with DOC in his natural voice after over 20+ years?

Which co-producer does he feel he has the best chemistry with?

What made him decide to get into bodybuilding?

What does he feel is Snoop's best work aside from their work together?

Who is he feeling from the west right now that is up and coming?

Does he listen to a lot of French Jazz?  How did stumble upon songs that he did interpolations of?

Does he have any plans to work with Curtis (Hood Surgeon) soon?

Which producers in the hip-hop game inspire you?

Does he ever have any plans to release any material from the vaults?  Anything from the Helter Skelter project, Chronic 2, Early Detox sessions?

What shelved/delayed project would you most liked to have seen come to fruition? (NWA Reunion, Helter Skelter with Cube, Chairmen of the Board with either Timbland, DJ Premier, Erick Sermon or Irv Gotti? the rock group? Break Ups 2 Make Ups with Snoop?, etc.)

Who really produced No Diggity?

Has he ever dabbled in any of the fads? (Crunk, Hyphy, Bounce, etc.)

Petey Pablo apologized to Dr. Dre, on Myspace, for letting the engineers fuck with the vocals on In A Minute. Never heard of them coming close to working together though.

This would be the dopest interview ever if it actually happens

Whats up with slim the mobster and Bishop Lamont? Is Bishop still signed and did they get into some beef?

Is Slim the mobster actually signed and is he dropping an album on Aftermath? (he said he was but I get the feeling its only as a writer. News would've gotten out by now)

Cube gonna be on the album?

When will we hear a single for Detox?

Whats the theme of the album? Is it a gangsta rap album like his previous ones or is it gonna have a lot of pop features like lil wayne and Fergie?

oh and not a question but a recommendation. Please oh please get Em to get rid of the accent. MESSAGE FROM ALL THE FANS.

why am i not allowed to post that i wonder why i keep checking for dre beats even though he fell the fuck off?

obviously he hasn't fallen off when everyone's still checking for him

Is this for real?!? No delays and cancellations and he will actually do this interview?!? Damn thats a huge huge grab if y'all get this.

Questions!!

Most ppl within hiphop consider yourself and snoop to be the best rapper/producer duo..how come u both have not worked so much recently together and are there any big plans for the both of y'all to do some next level shit again?

Do you think you can out on detox with something as big as still dre and still have follow ups on the calibre of next episode/forget about dre/whats the difference sorta thing...

Are there any young cats you're working with who could be the next big thing?

Alot of people are saying that dres productions have fallen off alot in recent years...why do u think this is? Are you saving all your best stuff for detox?

Whats the creative process for making a hit on aftermath? what do you expect from the artist? You can always tell an artist if they're slipping but is it difficult to always stay on top with noone probably being in a position or big enough to tell you when you've made something weak and how about if you've made a heater and everyone is digging it apart from you? what happens? lol

Ask him about his infamous vault...itd almost be a crime not to ask him about this...will we ever hear something out of it?!?

Ask him about his situation with game and if we'll hear a follow up to documentary so to speak

pz!

Ask him about his insecurity when it comes to releasing detox, he could have released detox years agoo with a better timing?! Why now?

True shit//// but...

1 - Is Detox gonna be recorded all in HD and Surround Sound?  Or a hybrid of Analog and regular digital recording?
2 - Since he said he's working with everybody from before, who's gonna be the "base" features (like Snoop & Tha Doggpound did on The Chronic)
3 - Will he be doing any features outside of Relapse?
4 - What will be the direction/theme/vibe of the Detox album?  Describe the sound/mood of the album.  (Neo-Soul, Gangsta Rap, etc.)
5 - Will Detox be an album with mainly Simple beats (like "Shit Popped Off") or will there be mainly complex beats (like "Could've Been You")
6 - Is he playing any instruments on the album
7 - Will there be a DVD with the album?  {Behind the Scenes}
8 - Does he still get pissed off that people always talk about his old music more than his newer music?
9 - Will NWA be on the album?
10 - Will there be an "Official" Detox mixtape before and after it drops?
11 - How many "trend" artist are gonna be on the album? (Fergie, etc.)
12 - Will there be any Major-Producer co-producers on the album?
13 - When is the Promo Tour for Detox coming (Interviews, TV, Radio spots, Movies, etc.)
14 - Will Detox be the official last thing we hear from Dr. Dre; any music getting released from the vaults in the future?
15 - When will the Aftermath Liqour be at the local corner stores?
16 - How many artist and producers submitted work for Detox?
17 - Is he and Snoop still working on that project for/with Quincy Jones?
18 - How does he feel about letting his fans wait for so long?
19 - How deep are his expectations for Detox?
20 - Will he ever produce music for the new 2Pac albums?
21 - What does he want the Detox album to do for Hip Hop? (trend setting, innovating, etc.)
22 - Will Detox be more Solo of an album verses a compilation type of album?
23 - Who didn't he get to work with on Detox?
24 - What does he want the people to get from this album?
25 - Will his children be on the album?

Ayo, some of these questions are alright and I want them answered too...
But some are just things no one will care about soon, or you'll find the answer as soon as the situation sorts itself out or as soon as something drops.
Eg. who's gonna be on Detox - it'll probably change and then it'll be a waste of a question because you'll have the answer for whatever was on his mind that day and it'll change the next day or the final thing will be different anyway... or the Game situation, because it'll probably change as well and then you've got a useless answer.

I'd ask a lot of questions about classic shit, like working on The Chronic, Doggystyle, stuff he has in the vaults - there's so many questions about production and how he did those classics that have never been asked or answered by the man himself.
That's history right there and is mad important and he's given so little info about doing a lot of the stuff that made him who he is today - that'd make for an interview that is referenced for like years and years because that info isn't anywhere else

One question I'd like to see asked -
How come he moved away from sampling, and will he ever go back to straight sampling records?

Also guys, no pressure, but don't fuck up this interview!! Please don't ask any silly questions or waste of time questions, make it all count

Question 28 - Can we expect any GFunk to be on Detox?

Question 29 - Will he be working with any old school artist on the Detox like The Temptations, The 4 Tops, George Clinton, Earth Wind & Fire, etc.

Question 30 - Will there be any outside Genre appearances on Detox?  Like Portishead or John Mayor (sp), etc. - I want to see Marilyn Manson on Detox btw.

Question 31 - What was the inspiration behind Detox, besides the money and people wanting another album by Dr. Dre?

Question 32 - Did he break his previous record for being in the studio 3 days straight with this album or did he match it?

Question 33 - Will we get an instrumental only album of Detox & The Chronic or just brand new beats?

Question 34 - Will he Remix any Detox singles and put them on the CD-Singles/I-Tunes with different beats?

Question 35 - Why only 12 or 13 tracks instead of a double or triple album or atleast a Full Length album?

Question 36 - Will it be a concept album or just a regular album?

Question 37 - What's his relationship with all the former Aftermath artist, and did any of them help with the planned released version of this Detox?

Question 38 - Did he write any lyrics of his own for Detox?

Question 39 - What's his role as far as Aftermath artist releasing albums?

Question 40 - Will he release any of his Drum Kits for up and coming producers to download/use?

There it goes, I think I just asked every question about Detox that people wanna hear about?

and not to sound like a hater but Eminem's voice is kinda unlistenable on his new shit.  I loved the lyrics (the not so goofy parts) but I really do think Dr. Dre shoulda told Em to chill on the "herman flow".  3am woulda been a monster if Em woulda kepp it gangsta with tha flow (like he did on "The Eminem Show").  That shit woulda been banannas and gravy... real talk!

Question 41 - Can we get a WBALLZ Skit on Detox, it really wouldn't feel like a complete album without one... seriously

i pray Detox gets produced/mastered like Marilyn Manson's Anti-Christ Superstar.  The way that album sounded with all of those special effects really made that shit come to life.  Now if Dr. Dre could make a Detox version of that musically or on some Dark Side of the Moon (the movie) Pink Floyd shit then there's not a soul on this planet that could fuck with Dre.

Please don't ask any silly questions or waste of time questions, make it all count

lol...now that would be a waste of a question right there. He's said numerous times he doesn't like sampling.

Part of the "legend of Dr.Dre" is that he never does interviews, which means that we'll all speculate like crazy about what he's doing. So while imagining Dre answering all of the questions in this thread would be a dream come true, I seriously doubt that he would do so. Hey, maybe you should ask why he agreed to do the interview.

- is nate dogg on detox? dre produced " leave it alone" for nate dogg, leaked by dj skee, were they working on a nate dogg solo album at this time? ( 2006 )

- what is the situation with the new death row owners? is he ready to put out some old stuff ( and everybody gets paid) or is he simply not interested and more concerned about his future music?

-what is his relationship with the DPG members ( Snoop, Warren G, Daz, Kurupt & Nate Dogg) ?

3) Is G-Funk dead to him?

5) Ever going to release the stuff in his vaults?

wow, some great questions were asked already, you guys beat me to it.
it's all good, that makes the brainstorming easier.
i apologise if i overlook any questions & come up with a similar one, accidentally.

ok let's go:

- how much tracks did you submit for Dawaun Parker's mixtape

- when are you going to introduce Bishop Lamont properly? the Detox release is still far away

- why haven't you submitted more beats to Bishop for the street albums?

- did interscope really sent a cease and desist letter to radio stations, for the Grow Up single?

- will there be a soundtrack to the upcoming NWA movie?
if so, could you and the rest of the living NWA members get together one more time & make a record, why the fuck not! (somewhat similar question was asked, but mine has a twist)

- you once stated that you still wanted to do Helter Skelter with Ice Cube, no matter how old you guys will be.
is this still the case?

- do you perceive the perfectionist mentality more as a curse than a blessing, or what?
if you feel that it's mainly a curse, are you going to do something about it?

-what else have you done to develop yourself more as a producer, since you started studying musical theory?

-are you satisfied with the deal you have with interscope?
do you still regret that you don't have the same position as Eazy-E had with Ruthless Records?

- will you ever apologise for making Eazy-E & Jerry Heller look bad?

- are you still looking for artists to work with?

- could you tell us some more about the Six 2 situation with aftermath?

- why didn't you hook up again with Six 2 to collaborate outside of aftermath?

-what's your relationship with Erotic D?

-are you really going to executive produce a new album of the DOC?

-i understand that you're very concerned about your security, but don't you think it's a shame that some of your friends can't contact you?

- you're still using samples; i thought you didn't like to split royalties for that.

- don't you feel bad that a lot of your work gets shelved

Ask him to sign Crooked I and release his album. He's got the most buzz in the west coast underground (and thats without being on a major label or being backed by a major artist), he's one of the top lyricists and is the west coast's best chance of coming out with another Game. Thing is, he will never blow up without direction and a major label backing him. Bishop Lamont's buzz has been dwindling and the fact that he's half backpacker won't help him sell records. And no one is impressed with slim the mobster. But Crook has kept his buzz going all on his own and making noise on the east coast with Slaughterhouse, imagine what he could do on a major if someone gives him a chance.

NWA is dead.  Why are people still caught up on them?  Same with the Cube shit.  If he really wanted to do it he would've done it.

At the very least  you should get the basic info on who's on the label and what will drop on the label.  Basically what the hell is going on with Bishop Lamont's the Reformation...unless we get an answer before the interview.

Ask if he thinks Relapse, Before I Self Destruct, Detox will do any significant numbers?
Ask why does he record music and not release it for the general public?
Ask why he cares so much about what other people think?
Ask if he realizes he'll die one day and the public will eventually posses any recording he created so he might as well capitalize on it now.

Miscellaneous questions:
His perspective on Game's name dropping
Insight on the Game situation, Stat Quo situation

Additionally, you should ask what form of steroids he's taking and how does he feel that people confuse his wife for Chyna.

Do not ask any questions about Detox.  Act like you've never heard of it

50 can make a hit record, doesnt mean to say he can compete with the best in terms of quality of hip hop, top and good are completely different things.

Game is just so boring and predictable, thats why i prefer 50 over him though cause i know somewhere in 50 he could put out quality if he gets focused.

Opinion is one thing, but you can't say 50 hasn't put out quality music.  Look at how many albums and mixtapes he's put out since he began.  I'm sayin; it's like how can you call an artist like 50 garbage (some people do) when he's put out a bigger body of work than most "legends" in this game.  He and others put out a way bigger body of work compared to the greats like Rakim and Big Daddy Kane, etc.  If Kane and Ra put out as much work as 50 or Wayne then i can guarantee that people wood be judging as above average artist on tha same level as 50.  Think about it, if 50 didn't release 1000 mixtapes and 5 albums and kept all of his best work on those albums and mixtapes and condensed them down to 7 or 8 albums (no mixtapes, no unreleased shit, no nothing- just straight albums) then everybody on here would never talk shit about the man.  And i dont wanna get too deep in it but (im bored) but imagine if Tha Massacre & Curtis looked like this:

1. Intro (0:41)
2. In My Hood (3:51)
3. I'm Supposed To Die Tonight (3:51)
4. Candy Shop (3:29)
5. Get In My Car (4:05)
6. Ski Mask Way (3:05)
7. A Baltimore Love Thing (4:17)
8. Ryder Music (3:51)
9. Just A Lil Bit (3:57)
10. Position Of Power (3:12)
11. Build You Up (2:55)
12. God Gave Me Style (3:01)
13. So Amazing (3:16)
14. Hate It Or Love It (Remix) (4:23)

1. Intro
2. My Gun Go Off
3. Man Down
4. Still Will Kill (ft. Akon)
5. I Get Money
6. Ayo Technology (ft. Justin Timberlake)
7. Follow My Lead (ft. Robin Thicke)
8. Movin’ On Up
9. Fully Loaded Clip
10. Amusement Park
11. Peep Show (ft. Eminem)
12. All of Me (ft. Mary J. Blige)
13. 187
14. Smile (I Am Leaving)

NWA is dead.  Why are people still caught up on them?  Same with the Cube shit.  If he really wanted to do it he would've done it.
i want an answer from Dre, not from you.

besides, did you even read the news about the upcoming NWA movie?
so off course are there going to be questions about NWA.

not to mention that NWA > aftermath

Couple questions:

- Ever since the 50 and Game beef escelated, 50 has been claiming and Game never denying that 6 songs from the Documentary were originally 50 Cent songs, 3 of those include Westside Story, Higher and How We Do. Can you comment on that ?

- What is your relationship with Xzibit ?

- Stat Quo, Rakim, Raekwon situations

- you've always been known as a pefrectionist but how do you explain releasing Encore and Curits, who were commercially successfull but not cirticaly.

I don't think he has social anxiety, I think he either stays out of the public eye as a way to boost his celebrity and appear more "legend like", or he thinks it's too much of a distraction, or both. But ask him about this too, does he dislike being famous?

Yeah, he said he create the core concepts then Game heard the tracks (what 50 already spit) and then remade them.  The other three were Church for Thugs, Special, and Hate It or Love It.   Ask him this shit.  I've been wondering which one of'em is telling the truth about this situation.

Though, I doubt Dre is going to expose either of them.

still can't beleive you going to interview him. He almost never does interviews.

The questions I really want him to answer are those:

Will Detox have the same INCREDIBLE replay value than 2001?
Is it still the plan to release i with only 13 tracks?
If that is the case, what will he do with all the features he supposedly recorded these past few years?

And finally... did Devin the Dude recorded any hook and/or verse for Detox  8)

01.Will you (Dr. Dre) ever grow a set of balls & release some tracks using the D.O.C.'s current voice? preferably featuring Six2, like on some mass-murder psycho shit! i.e. Helter Skelter-esque. >:(  :o >:(

02.When can we expect a Bishop Lamont, Dr. Dre, Snoop, Eminem & 50 all spitting on the same track?  ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ???

03.also does Dr. Dre listen to or know of any Rachmaninov pieces? if NOT he's needs to use some of his samples.  ;D  8)

lol, i'm against censorship & i want a lot of topics to be covered, but how important is it to be totally confronting?
if you press him too much, it will fuck up the interview.
i hope you understand that respect is very important when communicating.

i think the most important thing, is to find the best approach & get the best possible answers out of Dr.Dre.
i believe that Chad & Jonathan will be able to pull that off, as their history speaks for itself.

Is money really that important to you where you will choose a new york artist over a west coast artist?
So in a situation where two of your friends or business associates are fighting, you should automatically side with the one who lives closest to you?

How do u feel about the fact that your gonna be over the edge nearly hittin 50 by the time ur album drops?
Over the edge? Who is he, Mel Gibson in the first Lethal Weapon? The term for old is "over the hill".

- will there be a soundtrack to the upcoming NWA movie?
if so, could you and the rest of the living NWA members get together one more time & make a record, why the fuck not!
(somewhat similar question was asked, but mine has a twist)

-are you really going to executive produce a new album for the DOC?

^^^yeah... and;

-pretty much the status on NWA. Will there be a reunion album, if the movie gets a green light?
-Have him drop some words about all the artists and producers he has worked with.

So will I... but I think its the right time if he wants to start getting people excited/ rightly informed about whats going on and what will be going on this is the best opportunity for him to do it... as its says up top we are nearing 20,000 members and we all know people so its easy enough for this to affect people in the right way if it does go ahead! i know wat u were saying.  all im sayin is if you take ALL of the music you wood consider quality you cood fill up 8 or 9 albums full of all quality tracks.  mixtapes and albums, features, and compilations/soundtracks.  50 has achieved the same level as Rakim has as far as quality.  And i aint sayin he's a better MC, but he is a bette song writer/story teller and therefor the amount of quality he's put out makes up for all of the "inconsistencies" he's done in your eyes.  Surely if someone strapped you down in a seat and forced u listen to 50's FULL catalog of music, you could agree that he's put out over 100 quality tracks.  Which is more than wat most artist people consider legends have.

half these questions I could answer.

Quote
Ask him about the game situation
It doesn't exist anymore. Move on

Quote
and the Rakim situation
again, there isn't one

Quote
ask him how he feels about suge knight
really dumb question

Quote
ask him wat he feels about bishop goin at snoop and cube
Bishop has already said he doesn't care

Quote
ask him if he keeps in contact wit hittman and has done any music wit him after there break
He's worked with him for Detox

Quote
ask him if he keeps in touch wit the NWA members like yella
he doesn't. You can check the Ren and Yella interviews where they say they haven't talked to Dre in years.

Ask him about cold187um saying he borrowed G Funk from him. I've never heard of Dre confirming or denying this, wondering why no one has ever asked him this.

half these questions I could answer.

Quote
Ask him about the game situation
It doesn't exist anymore. Move on

Ummm....no you didnt answer it. Theres a whole lot more to that situation that needs to be addressed such as most of whats out there speculation & the only thing Dres ever said is that he doesnt need to get involved in the beef & has told both to make up & then they can make some hit records

Theres so many question
*Was Game really going to be dropped before Jimmy put him on G Unit
*Why didn't he step in when he saw the beef esculating behind the scenes (during the How We Do video shoot 50 Cent rejected the idea of having Game on one side of the street & him on the other because "Game isnt on my level & it will make it look like he is", IMO Dre should've stepped in & said "50 we trying to make a star for my label & yours & we both make money in the long run" whether he liked Game or not. Bad business move by everyone involved)
*Why Game was kicked off Aftermath
*Was he supposed to be on Game's 2nd album at all.
*How does he feel about the beef
*How does he feel about Game continuing to refer to him in songs including the whole "tell Dr. Dre to pick up a phone, or I'll jump through the window like Nigga I'm home"
*Will he ever work with Game again

regardless of what you think of Game, he is probably the only artists other than Snoop, Cube, Em & 50 Cent to really have that star quality to him. He has more charisma than other artists Dre tried to put on

Either way bad business decision by everyone involved

I'd also like to know about him maybe producing a album for snoop again and not no 3 tracks he just gives him i mean in the studio banging out a album together. Also whats the status of the whole procedure that him n snoop mentioned to DOC as far as fixing his voice.

Focus was overhyped, did any of the beats he made with Dre even get released? The shit on Bustas album is wack. The beat he gave Yayo was dope though, and also a couple he gave the outlawz. He's too hit or miss for me
