Title: Matt Hughes Vs BJ Penn
Post by: "THE" MoSav on September 13, 2006, 01:49:50 AM
UFC 63. Sept. 26th.
Matt Hughes vs BJ Penn. Welterweight Title 5 rds
Last time they fought in 02 Penn beat Hughes, that was Hughes last lost. But Penn lost his last fight to GSP (George St. Pierre).
I think Hughes is gonna win 3rd rd stoppage cuz i think Hughes will be beating the shit out of Penn in the ground and pound, But Penn is very good, he lost a split decision to GSP, so it could have went either way and he was the last mean to beat Hughes, so we will see..Any predictions?

Good thread, I'm looking forward to this fight, I was suprised with the outcome last time, and you can't count Penn out again this.
Personally, I think Hughes has it unless he gets sloppy and Penn can submit him again.

I think Hughes definetly over Penn.. if it was GSP however I think he woulda took it from Hughes.. Im pissed he got injured I was lookin really forward to that one.

And UFC 64: FRANKLIN VS. SILVA!! Franklin is my favourite fighter and I think he'll take Silva.

I found this on some site

Joe Rogan vs Wesley Snipes Fight Planned
Celebrity boxing did monster rating numbers a few years ago. It now appears a proposed Joe Rogan vs Wesley Snipes fight could do the same.

There was buzz of this rumor on several forums today and MMAWeekly.com has had this confirmed in the past hour. MMAWeekly Radio Host Frank Trigg talked briefly with Joe Rogan this afternoon to see if there was any truth to the rumor.

"It's 100% true..." Rogan told Trigg via the telephone. "I want the fight and now it's up to Wesley Snipes to accept." Snipes is a black belt in tae kwon doe and has trained in martial arts for years studying Karate, Kung Fu and Capoeira.

Rogan was a four-time state Tae kwon do champion before pursuing a career in show business. Rogan earned a black belt at 15 after just two years of training. At 19 he won the US Open Tae Kwon Do Championship, and later as a lightweight champion went on to beat both the middle and heavyweight title-holders to obtain the Grand Championship.Rogan also trains regularly with submission specialist Eddie Bravo.

Rogan said on the Underground Forum earlier in the day quote "As for Snipes motivation to fight, he wants to rejuvenate his action movie career..." Other motivation for Snipes is the fact that he owes millions of dollars in back taxes. Snipes hasn't had any new movie offers and needs to pay back taxes and hopes this kind of fight could re-launch his career.

If you ask how they can afford to pay celebrities to fight, one of the possibilities that is out there is to give the Celebes a small percentage of the deal from the actual pay per view. Rogan would not comment how much money was offered to him for the potential fight.

snipes wouldn't fight. losing would destroy his credibility and then no one would go see any new movie he made

i thought another Ortiz/Shamrock fight was planned?  I saw a commercial on Spike TV

i dont know why they bother, Ortiz shitkicked Shamrock last time.....the commercial tried to say it was a controversial match bcuz the ref called it so quickly, shamrock was pissed,   but he was layed out, on the ground, with Ortiz throwin' bow after bow to his face....the ref had to call it.

Ya, I want Franklin to take care of Silva too.....Franklin is the man.  UFC is really promoting Silva right now tho.  On UFC.com they called him unstopable and said he was easily the most dangerous middleweight contender.  Keep in mind Franklin hasnt fought in 7 months either...Hope Rich wins tho.
