It's truly incredible that 52 weeks have passed since Crooked I brought us his first "Hip-Hop Weekly" Freestyle over 50 Cent's "Straight To The Bank" beat. One year and over 50 freestyles later, it's time for the last "Hip-Hop Weekly", number 52, for which Crooked I teamed up with DJ Skee and put together something special for the fans.
The track was premiered on Power 106 last night, and Crooked flows over "Real Muthafuckin' G'z", "Slow Motion", "Who Shot Ya", "Picture Me Rolling" amongst other Hip-Hop classics.
Crooked has had everybody anticipating Wednesdays more than usually this year, anxiously anticipating his next track. Incase you missed any of the Hip-Hop Weely's, click here to check out dubcnn's Hip-Hop Weekly archive, the official home of the HHW's.
Enough talk, I know you all wanna hear the song, check out "Hip-Hop Weekly Vol. 52" below:
Crooked I - Hip-Hop Weekly: The Finale (http://www.dubcnm.com/audio/2008/april/crooked_i-the_finale-(dubcnn).mp3)
Thanks go out to Crooked I for the shoutout on the song! To hear Crooked I break down some of the fan's favorite freestyles and more exclusive details, check out Crooked I on Week 2 of Dubcnn Radio, where he goes in-depth on his successful series. As far as his album goes, Crooked announced on Power 106 last night that his official single featuring Akon will be released in three weeks, leading the way for his album, "B.O.S.S.". We'll keep you updated, for now go bump the last Hip-Hop Weekly!

Loving it! Crazy, feels like yesterday when Crooked announced the Weekly's and people were like "fuck this we want the album" but now 52 weeks later Crooked has blessed us with a great collection of tracks that I'll definitley be bumping for a long time, he got quotables in each weekly, and this last one was the perfect ending. it reminded me of game's 300 bars minus the dissing lol.

No Doubt!

having the beats switch up like that, shit was cool with 300 bars but this is just biting ass shit with this
Interesting point... Except Crook already did this type of track back in 1998 on "DJs And Emcees" with DJ Revolution... So I don't see how this is biting.
A lot of fans requested Crook bring it back to that track since it's so popular and he did it... So, he wasn't exactly biting. So who better to go to for the 2008 version than DJ Skee?
-
nice to see Nima get that shout out
dubcnn is where its at

PROPS!!!

I got to hand it to Crooked I, that was very well worth the wait. The track was mixed well and he ripped it up on the mic as usual. I love how he went off on the "Smells Like Teen Spirit" instrumental. We just need that album now.
-
That was amazing. Crooked and Skee deserve major props, they just made some fuckin history on this one!!!!!!

What a way to wake up! Fired up the computer, hit up Dubcnn, downloaded the song, hit the play button and just enjoyed this piece of music to the fullest :)
This came out very good! Beats were perfectly mixed (props to Skee), Crook's flow was insane (that Nirvana part is insane), his lyrics were on point (as usual). All in all, I honestly don't think this could've been done any better. Everything about it is top-notch. Hell, this mp3 has a 224 kbps bitrate! :) All the others were 192. Definitely a nice way to end this Series.
And yes, it sounds like a cliché, but it does feel like it was just yesterday I downloaded that "Straight To The Bank" Hip-Hop Weekly. I have to admit I was somewhat sceptical in terms of Crooked releasing a song every Wednesday.
One way or another, Crooked has written hip-hop history with this Series, that's for sure.
Some of you know that I'm a high-school teacher. Well, two weeks from now I'm giving a Hip-Hop Info Session (in which I explain the culture of hip-hop, how it came about and how it evolved) and I'm definitely going to mention this Hip-Hop Weekly series, just to show these young kids that some hip-hop artists are creative.
Thanks to Crooked I for doing this.

Props, will check this out right now.

I don't get what's the big hype with these long tracks. Just like I didn't think 300 Bars was anything OMG worthy, neither is this. I'm talking about the whole concept "I'm spitting for 10 minutes straight" --> you just put together several freestyles, like Game said he took 3,4 months for 300 Bars.
-
THE TLC-TUPAC PART IS SO DAMN ILL MAN I LUV IT
