Cam

Funniest quote on the Dub all year, lol it's all gator Spice.

But the OBVIOUS answer to this querry is NAS without a shadow of a doubt, Nas is the real GOAT of pure hip hop shit.

Yeah, Kurupt was the most feared emcee in the game from 96-01. To make an example: "NY, NY", & "Callin Out Names". 2 very well know diss tracks, but can u tell me this, has anybody EVER had the nuts to call Kurupt out, I mean name drop dude in a diss song? Noone, because they didn't want it. Nowadays, I'd be confident in a battle with Gotti, and I DONT rap.

BIG, I can't call him a GOAT because he didn't put out enough material. Pac destroyed Nas ( has Nas on his nuts for the longest time, and Nas never dissed him either ). But I still feel like Nas is the superior emcee.

Yeah, it's way too hard to try to quantify "who's the best"

For the guy who says Nas, there's the guy who can say BIG... for the guy who says Cube, there's the guyy who can say Rakim...

Is it based on sales, swagger on the mic?... there's just too many sub catagories to ask such a broad question...

^^^

If we're going by personal opinion, I'd go with BIG, Nas, the D.O.C.

Will anybody mention the DOC, or the fact that he's only done one album in a decent voice disqualify him?

Same reason I couldn't put Biggie up there, not enough real material to qualify imo.

IMO No One Can Do it better is THE most slept on hip hop classic....

Like I said Pac, Nas, old Jay, Kurupt, Cube, Big are all reasonable choices but honestly Cam is 5/5 in releasing dope albums, here is how I see it.

Confessions Of Fire - 5/5 classic, one of the greatest rap albums ever
SDE - 5/5, Brilliant album
Come Home With Me - 5/5, not his best album but still great all around
Purple Haze - 5/5, maybe the greatest album ever, flawless album
Killa Season- 4/5   his worst album but still way above average

u really think so? i see it get a lot love (deserving of all the love possible)...i think there are other great albums that don't get nearly as much love, such as the alkaholiks first 2 lp's, the maad circle records, the low profile record, and so on...

Personal opinion: LL Cool J, 'B.A.D.' through to '14 Shots' (1987-1993). Not neccessarily lyrics all the time, but for the full package - rhymes, flow, songs, styles, albums.

I voted Nelly

I was thinking the same. Why list A Tribe Called Quest as a group, and Black Thought as an individual, just to name some?

Voted Mike Jones, for obvious reasons. Who?

Oh, and I hope you don't mind me laughing at him for putting up both KRS-One and Boogie Down Productions as options to choose from.

That may go for The Roots or A Tribe Called Quest etc, but the difference between KRS-One in Boogie Down Productions and "solo" is no more than whether or not he stuck to in-house producing. Same with "DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince" or Will Smith. The point? I must have missed it.
