Celly Cel – Killa Kali
1. Round 2…The intro. It sounds like he’s talking, but he’s really spittin’ a rhyme. 4/5
2. What U niggaz thought…A+ production. Got a real gangsta feel to it. Cel puts down some gangsta shit here. 5/5
3. 4 tha skrilla…Featuring E-40 and B-Legit. Faster paced beat. Everybody flows well against it. 4/5
4. It’s goin’ down…A classic song. A slow ass song with a twist of R&B flavor. Hard hitting bass. A cruisin’ song. 5/5
5. Can’t tell me shit…A story about growing up. Dope lyrics to go with a dope beat. 4/5
6. Tha bullet…Good beat. Cel flows well. 3.5/5
7. Red rum…Song with Spice 1. They trade verses well. I love the chorus. 4.5/5
8. Skanlezz call…interlude
9. Skanlezz azz bytchez…Track about scandalous women. Beat fits the subject perfectly. 4/5
10. Remember where you came from…This track is about comin’ up and then turning your back on everybody. Good song. 4/5
11. Killa Kali…Production sounds like a mix or old school with a new school twist. Song about gangsta life in Cali. 5/5
12. Playerizm…Cel flows well to the slow-paced beat. 3.5/5
13. Funk season…Tight lyrics, beat and chorus. Nice way to end the album. 4/5
OVERALL…8.5/10
Nothing really worth skipping on this CD. Every song is a winner. Production is on point on every track. Minimal guest appearances gives you a chance to hear more of Celly Cel’s lyrics. Straight gangsta shit.
