1) I think he was still down with Death Row via Dogg Pound Records at that time
2) He took credit for work done on Doggystyle and The Chronic that Dre did
-
didn't Daz try to kill himself?

didn't Daz try to kill himself?

Why did Daz try to kill himself? Because of his beef with Kurupt and Death Row?

either way or because his crack dealers cut him off

Remember when Daz said that he was going to enlist in the army? Or when he claimed that Suge had kidnapped Kurupt?

Damn, even Snoop Dogg said that Warren G and Daz didn't get credit for beats they did. How long are people still gonna defend Dr. Dre so blindly?

as much as i remember snoop said dre deserved all the credit because he produced it

^
that sory is gettin kinda old at this point.
Daz did the drums on "rat tat tat"
and he did beats on "doggystyle", both confirmed ---> "aint no fun", & "serial killa"
Daz also produced the original lead single for "doggystyle" -- "Every single day", which was pulled

Not to defend Dre here, but put yourself in his shoes. It's 2000, and do you want to have someone on tour who's aligned with an enemy & who has publicly spoken against you about credit received on albums seven years ago?

Yeah. I remember it clearly. It was around the time when Death Row had posted some clues on their website about a previous Death Row artist re-signing with them, which everyone figured out was Kurupt based on the song titles (some being Kurupt features off the 2002 album) that they used within the announcement. Right aroud that time, Daz posted on DPG Recordz' site that Suge and kidnapped Kurupt and took him to New York and was claiming that him and the other DPG affiliates were going to fly out there to "rescue" him, more or less.

because dr dre was still butthurt
-
Because Daz brought in people, which lead to the bullying within the studio. Dr Dre hated the atmosphere and done all his work from home afterwards. Dre doing his Chronic 2001 didn't want Daz turning his studio into the same situation over at Tha row previously

But the bullying was more perpetuated by Suge and his crew more so than by anyone else or their crews.

Yo a lil off topic i know but man i really wished i was around when Daz used to post on whatever forum it was back in the day
Man some of the shit that has been posted years after said by him is some of the funniest shit i've ever heard. Daz is funny as fuck when he's on 1.
Is there anywhere i can find some of those quotes?
-
I don't think so, those were all posts by Daz on the main page of DPG Recordz' site, which isn't up anymore. But Daz did say a ton of funny stuff, like what I had mentioned earlier. I don't know who's funnier, him or Suge.

Wasn't that around the time he got surgery for Anal ripping? I'd be suicidal too if someone busted me open like that.
-
Haha i remember that when he said Kurupt was kidnapped, i also remember on the Gangsta Shit dvd kurupt was on there showing papers he had received from Death Row to re-sign but he wasn't having that. I think the next day he was "kidnapped"
-
Daz has taken some L's
I remember when he and 50 were going to form DPG-unit and 50 stated in an interview that he didn't know that he and Daz had a relationship lol

HAHAHAHA do we have a link to that?
-
that was the interview that Nima did where he was asking 50 questions about Bad Azz and other lesser known west coast acts... Daz was all on 50's nuts at the times though, i remember his DPG Recordz website newsfeed where he would brag about seeing 50 at the house of blues and also his kurupt diss over In Da Club's beat, etc.

I can totally see why Daz thought Kurupt had been kidnapped, that would have appeared a lot saner than Gottis decision to work with Suge again
-
Why did Daz try to kill himself? Because of his beef with Kurupt and Death Row?
Basically he had to watch all the west coast rappers in Up In Da Smoke Tour at home on DVD. Dre didn't let him join the legendary tour.
-
he visited didn't he?
even hittman who was on 2001 wasn't on the up in smoke tour properly was he?
-

Yes, he was. He talked about the tour in one of his old interviews and there's pictures of him from the tour.

the supposed suicide attempt wasn't until 2-3 years AFTER Up In Smoke Tour

Yes, he was. He talked about the tour in one of his old interviews and there's pictures of him from the tour.
He didn't make the cut for the DVD though apart from a passing glimpse in an extra from what I recall.

Yeah, the DVD left off too much performances. Westside Connection, Tha Eastsidaz, Warren G, Nate Dogg and even TQ performed songs on the tour.
-
i think daz had beef with snoop at that time, that's fucked up cause He's a dpg.
yeah daz falling out with snoop was one of the main reasons too
-
why didn't Bad Azz appear on Chronic 2001?

he wasnt on chronic either so why would he be

-
why didn't Bad Azz appear on Chronic 2001?

Nah, he appeared in the booklet cause he wrote Snoop's rhymes on "Just Dippin".
-

I think Hittman only performed in West Coast. He was suppose to spend the rest of the time to finish his album.

Warren G also took credit for Aint no fun beat (saying that Dre heard it and tweaked it "to the next level")
ill believe Warren G
-
From what I understand, Warren G brought Dre the sample & Dr. Dre did what he did with it to create Aunt No Fun.
-
I don't recall Warren G EVER trying to take credit for making any of Dre's beats. He rarely ever speaks on it but the few times he has he always says he brought Dre a sample...Daz flat out says he made the beats. And yes he wasn't on the tour cuz he was still on Death Row and beefing with Dre and Snoop at the time. Only reason he was ever allowed to breathe the same air as them at the time is cuz Kurupt was still holding his hand (btw, kudos to Daz for repaying that loyalty 2 years later lol)

Yeah real shit. That tour was huge. I remember all those acts you mentioned and Tha Alkoholiks all were on the tour but the dvd was just Cube, X, Em, Snoop/Dre.
This shit brings back memories. If you guys have the pics and shit mentioned please post them. Id like to see the one with Bad Azz and DOC.

Well, Daz was signed to Dogg Pound/Death Row Records at that time. The Death Row and Dre/Aftermath beef was poppin' (with lawsuits, diss songs, etc). So even if Dre wanted Daz to be apart of that album, I don't think it would have went down at that time. I heard that Dre wanted Lady of Rage to be on Chronic 2001 also but, he didn't want any problems clearing her to appear on it. I think she was still signed to Death Row, at that time also.

yeah lady of rage spoke on it in interviews, she thought it was due to death row
-

Yep!
-
rage was still on death row then??
-
Yes if I recall, she was still signed to Death Row at that time. Dre did wanna deal with additional legal problems with Death Row. Death Row and Dre had legal issues about "The Chronic" title, because he was gonna call his album "Chronic 2000" while Death Row was gonna release their compilation "The Chronic 2000". It create some confuse for some fans. Even Dre changing the title to "Chronic 2001" wasn't good enough and that was the reason why when u see the front cover to Dre's album, it has the 'green leaf" and then "2001" next to it. So, it was still titled "Chronic 2001". That went down along with Dre threaten to sue Death Row if they released "The Chronic 2000" with those unreleased songs included because they didn't get Dre's permission to use them. Death Row remixed some of Dre's unreleased songs from "The Chronic" era without his permission.

It don't seem like re fuck with daz.it seem like dre fuck with kurupt but not daz.I remember when kurupt went back 2 death row & dr dre still shouted kurupt out & showed kurupt mad love. but he didn't shout daz out.
