will say, man how can you say that, whats ya proof, your jealous of my freedom etc etc etc
Well, on Nov. 2, when America votes Bush (which I believe it will), I expect this argument to go away quitely.
Yankees will cement their status as idiots when a bunch of swing state rural hicks and Trauma esque voters spit in the face of common sense and logic.
:)

wern't you one of the dudes that said we were better off voting for bush over Kerry?
-
I am a 1st generation American and I am not voting in this election but to call Americans stupid who vote for Bush is, well, stupid. Kerry is no knight in shining armor and any who believe that to be true are delusional. Bush sucks. Kerry sucks. I'm not voting.

Precisely, which first of all proves how retarded your system is. It also proves Tech is rooting for the option that degrades yall the most :D

Check this site. You may find it better than the last one.

Kerry isn't amazing, but we havent had a candidate in decades who has been amazing. That doesn't take away from the fact that George Bush is quite possibly the worst American president ever.
-
Honestly, I don't care if the world thinks we're a bunch of hicks or idiots. Oh well. People think the president is an idiot, but yet he's on top of the world. Same with America, who gives a shit?

This is the attitude that will lead to your nations downfall mark my words. Trauma, you cant go up against the world, believe me man, you cant.

you might be right. But let it be known Canada BARELY qualifies as "apart of the world"
for some reason this reminds me of that really fat french bitch on the "super size me" movie who was saying americans eat too much....

this nation's downfall will happen long after we're all dead so we don't have anything to worry about ;D

LOL...TEch nice to see that u still throwin sophmoric insults at another nation, obviously superior to urs, but anyway, yeah I agree with this quote, and a majority of Americans eventually passively approved of the war...and therefore Bush. Kerry seems untrustworthly and somewhat incapable.

LMAO i love train of thought, so many posts to quote in here i cant choose one

What a lame comment.
If you see Tech postin, get ta bouncin. You went from WCC Respected Elder to being the village idiot. And Tech is the first to insult your hobo ass laying on the streets of TOT mumbling nonsense drunk off Homo milk you certified chump. And the first to throw tomatoes at your threads. And the first to consistently remind you of your faggotry and ignorance.

G7
It's G8 now I think. But yeah, that was a real ignorant comment. Are we not always listed above the US in the best place in the world to live?
-
Russia is still an un-official member until it hosts the summit in 2006, so for now it's known as the G7/8 (I just looked it up).
And yeah, Vancouver, and Montreal are in the top 5 places to live in the world.

OK, that makes sense. Vancouver and Montreal are top 5? Impressive, do you have the whole top 5 list?

how can you possibly say what the best places to live in the world are ???
I mean how can this be based on "facts"?

There's lots of studies done on it, every year the UN also does a list of the top places in the world to live. It's all based on everything that would make a place desirable to live. Canada scored #1 for many years in the 90's and we consistently score near the top. Nowadays I believe #1 is Sweden.

depending on the high depression and suicide rate in sweden Im not so sure ???
anyways I dont trust those lists
anybody got some links with further information?
-
I have the 2004 Human Development Report from the UN.
There are different lists on it.
But the top 5 countries are:
Norway
Sweden
Australia
Canada
Netherlands
There are tons of different studies that come out every year rating the best place to live. The city I live in (Port Moody, BC) just won 2 awards for the best place to live. Vancouver and Melbourne usually fight for #1.

Life Expectancy, Annual Income, Literacy, Unemployment, Poverty, ect.
It's not hard to do.

I think more people would rather live in LA or New York than any city in Canada.

Good point, why would someone want to live in Canada with free health care, better employment rates, lower cost of living, less pollution and less crime?
-
To clarify, I was not implying that's how America as a whole is, I was referring specifically to both of those places mentioned.
-
I think more people would rather live in LA or New York than any city in Canada.
The top 4 cities for Canadian population are:
1. Toronto (4 Million)
2. Montreal (3 Million)
3. Vancouver (2.5 Million)
4. Los Angelas (1 Million)
1 Million Canadians agree with you. I've personally never been to either New York or LA, but I'd live in either City if the opportunity came up. But Vancouver is always my home.
I honestly think that within the next 20 years, Vancouver will become one of the "places to be". There are so many big Asian businesses looking to dump their money here. Plus the olympics in 2010 will add to that. Vancouver is growing almost too fast, we already have the biggest port on the Westcoast of North America.

It's hardly free health care. We get raped by the taxman for this mess of a health care system and in Ontario we also pay health care "premiums" on top of that.
I wish they privatized it all.

Did you forget higher tax, worse weather, and whacker points of interest?
Go up to some random guy in a random European country and ask, "where would you rather live, Canada or LA?"...I guarantee you 90% or more will say LA...

;D
Actually Sccit, I think EUROPEANS might be more willing to live somewhere like Vancouver, or Montreal rather than US...depending where in Europe too, but I think a majority of em dont like America, and probably find Canada more up to their standards and more what they will be used to..

We get raped by the taxman for more than just health care, it's also the CBC, the gun registry, the sponsorship scandal, keeping the separatists at bay, and wasteful ceremonial positions like the Governor General and the Senate. And the premiums are only temporary. However, I do believe we should allow for private delivery of health care as long as it's public available to improve efficiency and save money.

Higher tax I'll give you, but how can you say weather when you used NY as an example? And Canada is huge, not everywhere has bad weather. BC is beautiful year around. And the points of interest? Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, Edmonton all have great attractions. Our tourism is one of the highest points of Canada's GDP.
