With all the horrible officiating currently taking place, this seemed like the right time to pose the question. Is the NBA rigged? I'm really starting to take it into serious consideration.
-
hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha IS THIS NIGGA SERIOUS???
the NBA wasn't anymore rigged than when the Lakers were running all over the "Queens" in game 7's
-
haha I don't know man, who cares
Game 2 was really bad I know that, but Lakers are being a tad weak right now
I think it should be 1-1 but whatever, not the end of the world
I've always been on the refs case ages before this game
as a Laker fan I don't take it personal
-
Shut the hell up you god damn sonuvabitch pansy. God Damn jews always bitching. Damn jews won't stop until they control everything. God damed war avoiding jews in the country control the media now they want to control basketball. I stopped watching when the negros got involved but I can't stand the damn kikes damn near just as much as the spear chuckers.
-

-

Well, if it were rigged, the rigging definitely woulda' started wayyyyy back. Fuck Boston and their zebra buddies.

Fuck yeah it is. C'mon now, does anybody SERIOUSLY believe that Donaghy was the only ref betting on / setting up games? He was the only one to get caught. I can't wait till that nigga starts droppin names.

the only names he'll be dropping are the refs for hte Lakers-Kings series from 6-7 years ago...
hell, any of the Shaq-Kobe era for that matter

Lakers FT : 10 attempts
Leo Powe : 13 attempts
LOL .. Wade just lost his crown ... let's call him Leo- Whistle
-
LOL. If the game today was rigged, then so were the 2000 WCF and the 2002 WCF. You homers kill me. When the Lakers win those games the excuse is "Well, team X didn't play good enough to win. They should have played better then the game couldn't come to be decided by the refs." When the Lakers lose its "THE NBA IS FUCKING RIGGED OMG THIS IS SO FUCKING BULLSHIT!!!! CONSPIRACY THEORY CONSPIRACY THEORY!!!"
-
No matter the team, I think that homecourt is too stacked to one side. It's almost as if you wish that games were played on a neutral court to actually see who is the better team.....
-
^^Yes, but that's what the league wants, is the fans involved, and it could provide a HUGE momentum shift now going to L.A. As for it being rigged, this whole match-up of "Celtics-Lakers" and the Paul Pierce injury-comeback make it look a little like wrestling, but people need to stop complaining about the refs. What about Vlad traveling on that dunk after he stole the ball? And Leon Powe went to the line so many times because he was going strong to the basket and the Lakers' interior defense wasn't playing so solid.
-
why are u now questioning this? 'cuz of the lake show? its been going on for YEARS AND YEARS AND YEARS
a nba finals game seven would be very lucrative for the League..

actually I've been thinking about this from the first rounds of all the matchups.... It's been going on but this year in particular seems to be out of control.

um... I was answering the question from an nba perspective.... not a team. I made myself clear on that.
yes.. there is fan involvement to consider... but outside of fan advantage this season the home/road advantage and disadvantages have been odd and puzzling. it does make one wonder.....

The Lakers will get Game 3 handed to them. There is no way they are losing Game 3.
-
they should use the fiba rules :P

I'm sorry...But nothing was ever as bad as:
Leon Powe - 13 free throws in 14 minutes
Los Angeles Lakers - 10 free throws in 48 minutes
Come on, Turf...Even you gotta admit that this is beyond fucking ridiculous.

Tell me why if the Lakers don't get the calls, the NBA and David Stern are out to get the Lakers, but when the other teams don't get the calls and they have something to say about it you guys act like they're just losers being losers? Now you have a slight idea what other teams have been dealing with against the Lakers for YEARS. Like I said, if this series is rigged, then the last 3 LA titles also were and they need to be stripped of them. As far as Powe, he got the calls cause he was being aggressive going strong to the rim constantly and was constantly getting hit in the process.

You are ridiculous. I know you didn't watch Game 2, you lyin' ass bitch. If you did, you'd be just as appalled by the BLATANT one sided officiating throughout the game.
-
LMAO man get the fuck outta here. You are emotional as it gets over this shit. YOU ARE FUCKIN DISTRAUGHT!! HAHAHAHAHAHA callin me out my name cause your guys didn't play well enough to win. Quit thinkin with your emotions like a female. Talk to me when you're ready to be a man again.

I really don't get what you are saying, and what I said against your point? You mentioned it being a major advantage for the home team (I'm guessing talking about the refs favoring the home team as well), and I agree that it has been crazy the way the home teams have dominated, but I think that is what the NBA wants. They want the fans to be involved, and feel like they have an impact.
The points I made about the individual calls of the specific game were not intended for your statement, but they were towards the original topic.
-
the Laker fans are being rediculous! Rigged? LMFAO, NIK are you THAT BIG OF A SORE LOSER? The calls go both ways dude. There were a few calls early in the game against KG that were weak calls, on moving screen ect...there were also a coupld questionable calls on Kobe early in the game with Ray Allen on him, but thats the way it goes. Stop blaming the refs and ask yourself how many times did Kobe go in the paint ? He needs to get to the line more, but its hard becuase of Bostons defense.
Boston was the best team in the NBA the whole regular season. I dont see how all the laker fans on here were picking them as some sort of huge underdog before this series started. Best defensive team in the League, plus offensive players like KG, PP and Ray is pretty fucking hard to stop, even if you have Kobe. KG owns Gasol/Lamar in the paint, and the rest of the Celtic role players are as hungry or hungrier than the Lakers to go after lose balls.
Stop whining and man up, take your losses and hope for the best in LA.
-
^ you're getting the misconception of things wrong... don't pay attention to NIK, you know he's off the wall no matter what
people aren't arguing that the Lakers should be up 2-0 because of calls or that it's rigged (other than extremists)
anyone who truely watched the game looking for an actual good Finals game can just see how gay the refs were calling it
that's it.... no arguments, no stats, nothing, all you had to do was watch the game to see how bad they had to fuck up a potentially good game
-

all good...
my post wasn't a Laker/Celtic thing.... which you used as examples in your post. I was just being clear with that for my own posts on this particular topic.
and like I said, I know that fan involvement has to be there.... I was just wondering what these games would be like if none of these teams had court advantage or call advantage...

You can diss me all you want, but everything I've said has been 100% true. The question isn't whether these were bad calls or not. The question is whether these were lopsided calls in Boston's favor purely because of poor officiating or whether the games are rigged to go Boston's way to begin with. Only and idiot would claim there's another alternative which doesn't include biased officiating.
-
I think everyone will realize that it IS rigged when we get 30 or more calls in our favor tomorrow.

Ever since I saw the Mavs getting screwed by the refs and that bitch Stern by the Heat...I realized that everything is rigged in the NBA...

Ok ok, I get it much more clearly now, I probably should have separated the points to avoid confusion.
It would be interesting to see the difference in neutral sites, like the Super Bowl or NCAA Championship, but that won't happen because it's a best of 7 series. However, while I didn't see the officiating with the Laker vision, it should be called the same for each team, regardless of who has home court, no question about that.
Even bigger question, would people still watch if it was uncovered that there was a lot more corruption than just Donaghy? Would you lose all faith in the NBA? Would you ever watch again?
-
yeah, it was just food for thought... I know it will never happen or even be considered. Hell, I'm not even sure I want to see it... but I would be curious to see an outcome.
As for the bad refs..... I love the game and it's so much more fun to watch than any sport to me. But it would ruin the experience.
-
^^Yeah, it would be so crushing that I try to block out negative thinking like that. Although, wrestling still does very well, and I'm pretty sure most fans know that it's not real.

lmao... don't give Vince any ideas. He already tried with the XFL.
As for any bad exposed refs.... whoever is heading up the Gambinos or the Genovese's will probably see to it that we never find these refs. Unless they are found at the bottom of the lake wearing cement shoes one day. 8)
-
Any new opinions with the Donaghy allegations coming out?
-
I'm not sure NIK. The ESPN Ticker said an official (can't remember his name off the top of my head) said that there were some occasions when a high ranking official would come in and say "so and so has been doing this, watch for it" and that it puts thoughts into the refs heads.
Who knows. I would REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY hope that the league is not rigged, but a piece of me says it is. Everybody, even people who don't really watch basketball, knows about LA vs Boston, and that its going to get ratings. Is it a coincidence they both made the Finals when they both had good teams?
The league has struggled since MJ retired. Nobody, except for people from Texas, myself included, like the Spurs and they have been winning more than anybody else since MJ retired. They make it to the Finals and win four times and each time is piss poorly rated because only die hard NBA fans watched. Maybe Stern made it known that the league should push for the ultimate Finals this year, LA/Boston. Maybe he never actually said it straight up, but dropped hints to people here and there.
-
the only reason those alligations came to light was because he doesn't want to pay the $1 million in reparations the NBA wants because of his actions. He's dry snitching to get a lighter sentence. Anyone that believes the NBA is rigged is naieve. Even if that game Six in 2002 was rigged, Game Seven was in Sacramento and they lost it on their home court.

David Stern is losing some of my respect by the way he's handling this.
All kidding about Lakers-Kings 2002 aside, I certainly hope the NBA was not rigged.

I think you kind of crushed your own conspiracy theory there.

there are a lot of holes in this situation that the media isn't picking up on. All you have to do is look at the series as a whole, and you can clearly see it wasn't fixed...Sacramento flat out lost the series.

I'm done with NBA playoffs man. Like forreal, this league needs a new comish, and some new refs.

LOL so its the refs fault again? Oh, must be because the Lakers lost. Not to worry, they play again tomorrow and if the Lakers win, I'm sure it will be because of the excellent officiating.

Nah it's not that at all. I could give a fuck about the Lakers if you ask me. I'm just tired of all this controversy with the refs in the NBA. It has ruined the league. I'm glad the NFL is nothing like this.

You ignorant Laker hater, Antonio/Sparegeez is a Warriors fan. Everyone who knows anything about basketball knows that the refs have controlled most of this series. Even Games 3 and 4 IN LOS ANGELES had shit officiating, when people expected it to be in favor of the Lakers to balance out the disgustingly bias officiating in Games 1 and 2.
-
damn they should just have the players call there own fouls. *The Honor System* lol

Sparegeez is not. do you see the difference?

Ok seriously aside the lakers boston finals....Keep in mind I HATE the lakers and boston.....but the NBA is rigged, and can be rigged when it wants to. I mean cmon the NBA is a FUCKING BUSINESS. So much money is involved, with the needs to for ratings, the right bets etc....the NBA is the way it is cause its a fucking business, if you doubt it could ever be rigged at some point then well thats too bad, cuz honestly what Business involving that much money, entertainment, and manipulation cant be controlled to do what will make them more money?
-
^so according to your logic, EVERY sport is rigged...LOL.
