every college is different.  If you want to go to a four year college straight outta high school your going have to take your SAT's.  And then your going to have to look into what that college requires your GPA and SAT scores to be.  if your looking to go to community college tho, all you need is a diploma or GED.  And in community college your going to take a entrance exam to see if you can take a regular classes or start off with remedial classes.  Then after you amass a certain amount of credits you can look into transfering to a 4 year college.  And usually after you complete your first year of community college and you're looking to transfer they wont even look at your SAT's b/c sat's are only supposed to give colleges an idea of how you may do in your first year of college.  Like right now I go to community college and I sent my application out to the 4 year school I want to transfer to.  The school i want to go to you need 48 credits to transfer and I have 49 and taking 4 credits this semester.  Hopefully they accept me.  I have a 3.51 GPA.
