How Old were You in 1996 when 2pac dropped All Eyez On Me?
1996 was a Crazy Hot year for Death Row, 2pac and the West Coast.
How old were each of you guys during this incredible year in rap music?
Just Curious.

11....and I got into rap when I was 8 and in the 3rd-4th grade, so I was deep into it then.
Funny thing is....even when Pac died, I felt that Cube and even Snoop were still bigger names than he was overall...and I feel like if one of them had died, people would have been trippin even harder. I really thought Westside Connection ran the summer with "Bow Down", even though their album didn't drop until later in the year. They are the reason everybody from kids in Alaska to Jamie Foxx was screamin "Westsiiiiiide" and throwin up Dubs...but Pac gets credit for that.

I was 10, and AEOM was probably the third real rap album I got, first two being Coolio's Gangstas Paradise and Luniz' Operation Stackola (Gangsta's Paradise and I Got 5 On It were HUGE in Norway). AEOM was also the album that really got me into rap, started doing "research" about rap in general, 2pac, the artists featured on the album etc.

was 12 when it dropped. Kinda similar deal as R-Tistic. I got into rap in 4th grade. I remember my neighbor's older sister bought "The Chronic", and I just bugged out when I heard it, thought it was the greatest thing since Nintendo. She also had Eazy-E "It'z on" album, which was hot. Ever since I was 10, been listening to west coast shit.
Funny story about AEOM though, I tried to buy it at three different stores at the Mall (Sam Goody, The Wall [now known as FYW], and some other place I don't remember) and was not allowed to buy it because I was too young. Fuckin' pissed me off, although my friends older brother ended up buying it for me a couple weeks later.

12 Years Old and i really wasnt into pac i was more into westside connection

haha yeah i was bumping Westside connection bow down before AEOM for sure.. ordering Bow Down the music video off of The Box. I remember I was in some video journalism class, and we made this segment on like our school baseball team, and we had to fit some music behind it, and i was so adamant about using Bow Down as the music, but good thing i didnt, cos looking back that wouldve been really gay. hahaha. we ended up using some white boy surfin type of music haha.

7 years old, didn't really bump music back then ::)
-
Thanks for all the replies guys!
Even if you didn't like 2pac at the time it is cool to hear how old everybody was.
And it reveals how old everybody is now.
Back in those days Me and the homies had so much fun!
All we cared about was Parties, bitches, drink and smoke!
We were just Mackin Hoes, Smokin Dank and having a great fuckin time!
I remember that we hated on Biggie big time.
It was hilarious that we were so pumped up by Pac that we dissed biggie and his whole crew all the time.
We fuckin supported that Nigga Pac MAJOR.
Obviously as an adult I can admit that Biggie was cool but back then it was:
"Fuck Biggie" "Badboy Killa!" "Die Slow" "...make sure all your kids don't grow!"
We also fuckin loved that Westside connection shit.
So many dope tracks.
Some of you may think this topic is stupid but the truth is we each had our "golden age" during different years.
As a result we all have different perspectives on music.
A lot of people complain about 2pac being lame and overrated but most of those people weren't even listening to rap when he was alive.
Many of those people went though their "golden age" listening to 50 cent, G unit, Eminem, etc. and they often seem to resent the fact that we like "some old overrated dead dude named 2pac".
But Its all good.
Everybodies life experiences are different and their likes and dislikes are shaped by the life they have lived.8)

14... I remember copping that album too, bumped it hard that whole year... still do!
