Title: Eminem's verse on Obies new album song "There they go"
Post by: Skeptic on June 22, 2007, 03:34:57 PM
Yo i see this threads bout em a lot of peeps feelin his old shit way more than new, so I gotta ask what yall thought of his verse on Obie's new album cause in my opinion shit was crazy it was straight gangster. I have always been a fan of eminem but Im feelin this verse right here jus as much as his old shit if not better cause it more updated wit the flow and expression etc. I think if this verse is a indication of how he gonna get on his new album shit should be real dope.

yeah so what yall think of that verse?

He ripped it, matter of fact I believe that was the EXACT moment that I started to like Eminem again. I liked the verse because he actually put effort into it, like he really wanted to shine on the track. That Encore was straight up crap, I stopped liking him after that cd, but he killed this Obie track, and he murked the Re-Up as well.

Yeah, the effort wasn't there. just straight up corny music, the Re-Up is a much better bet homie.

The thing with Em is that even at his weakest, hes >>> 95% of the rap game today.

Encore was one of the biggest dissapoinments (still he had 7,8 dope joints) but nevertheless, even when hes rapping with the spanish voice or farting, hes still has methapors, punchlines and is more creative than a lot of rappers out today.

Still I think Em made that Encore album wack/wierd a lil bit on purpose too. Yeah, it sounds ridiculous, but if I would imagine anyone doing it, it would be him. Hes never been the person to enjoy the spotlight and the fame and I wouldnt be shocked if some track were made with "fuck the label and fans, I can put out a whole song of farts and still sell"

He killed almost every track on the Re-Up and that Obie song is dope too.

The main problem comparing the old Slim, is his wierd voice/flow. I dont know why the fuck its like that.

You are right about him purposeley making that album bad, but I lose alot of respect for him because of that obvioulsy. Why cheat the fans? I understand the fuck the label mentality, but the fans?

why cheat the fans? the fans weren't cheated, fans are always talking about 'give us 'mr i dont give a fuck', he did his biggest impression of mr i dont give a fuck by not giving a fuck about that album and they still complain. i don't dislike the album, but its not in my top 10 either, but its Em being Em

I thought the verse was good lyrically, but the annoying thing was that it was so 'gangsta'. Eminem never was and never will be a gangsta, and it's just horrible when he pretends that he is. What makes the verse even worse is that he's talking about killing etc when his best friend was killed four months prior to the album being released; it was tasteless.

eminem at his weakest<95% of the rappers out....do not get it twisted, when he spits garbage he spits real garbage....kinda like snoop....when they spit horrible....it is truly wack....but when they spit great it is great....but eminen has not spit anything great is way too long....right now he is nowhere near the top 5% of rappers out there.....

and i hope you really do not believe he made a rubbish album on purpose....nobody can be that much of a groupie....and there was a few decent tracks on encore nuttin more....the album is straight up garbage....one of the worst albums put out by a heavyweight hiphop act in history....do not get it twisted.....

now to the thread starter....his verse was nuttin better than decent.....back in the day when eminem flowed...it seemed natural whether it was a chilled verse, angry verse or whatever.....now he is either screaming with a high pitched vioce or pretending to sound angry and spittin bullshit.....I have not been impressed with eminem since.....shiiiit his been wack for so long i cannot remember the last time eminem was great....encore was garbage....the re-up was wack....nobody is diggin eminem right now outside groupies/big time eminem fans....

How was Eminem wack on Re-Up and Obies shit with verses like (not counting no Apologiez):

Nothing can stop and nothing can change
And you better just make new livin' arrangments
If you think, you the top and king of the castle
You about to be thrown off the throne and ripped a new asshole
All I hear is I'm the best at this and I'm best at that
But I don't hear my name, no ?? brought up in rap
And I don't usually trip or damn get caught up in that
But when they say one of the best, I'm nowhere thought up as that
Not even the same leage as Jay-Z, Nas, Pac, Biggie or maybe
The name me somewhere down at the bottom, right after AZ
Or say he ripped that Biggie verse, or that Jay-Z
Yo his verses were crazy, on that "Renegade" beat
But I ain't never bought no whole CD of Shady
And all I hear is pop tunes come on the Radi-O
And they play 'em 20 times in a row daily
And they very well maybe
The same reason they don't say me
When they speak on hip-hop legends which is amaze me
Cause I thought the formula was to hit mainstream
And make it big ba big big bay ba baby

There's never been this, much of a menace in this game as this
And it's the, most sinister duo in the business
Once again its the, illest and realest killas
The most villainous Dre protege, Shady apprentice
Drop them zeros and get with these heroes
Do you want losers or winners, This music is in us, and it's
Not over 'till we say it's finished and G-Unit spinners
Will keep spinnin', this is Hip Hop when it's in it's
Truest form, the greatest, Hate us or love us
Make voodoo dolls of us and keep stickin' those pins in us
Thick as his skin is or as short as his wick is
The trick is to be able to walk big as his dick is
And as sick as his music is, or was, still is
Whatever, forever, he will be the illest
To ever sh-shock the world, what to do next
He's already reconciled with his ex [reversed], a chainsaw and an axe
Jump a bitch's desk, strangle her neck
While we have sex while Bill Clinton plays the sax
I sprays the vex, yeah bring Shady on back
The maniac of rap, devil baby on crack
Resurrect, I never left, baby I'm bad
I've gone mad, my comrade Dre-zy automatically
He says I'm too broke to fix, way beyond that
I may be off drugs, but it's made me off track
In fact, this right here very well could be the last rap
I ever do spit, I'll never do shit, that's that
Fuck it I quit, suck on a dick, jackass
I'm done with this wack ass rap, kiss my black ass!
(50 Cent!)

When me and Fif got together to do this music
The more we became enveloped we just developed a fellowship through it
It's no pretend shit, it's friendship, me nemesis is your nemesis
Ain't for him, it's just media, see to them it's just images
But this shit is no gimmicks, this is blood in and blood out
When there's beef you jus' gotta know when to butt in and butt out
If there's a problem we solve it, if we don't resolve it
It usually just evolves into one big brawl and we all get involved in it
We should all get a merit, this much beef we inherit
And wear it like a badge with honor, pass it around and share it
And let it go to whoever's holdin the most current people on their shoulders
And their soldiers got their backs til it's over
But tonight, we ain't comin here to beef with nobody
We came to party, Banks, Cashis and Mr. Ferrari
So it's Shady Aftermizat back in that ass, you wizzass
Come hizzon what kinda fuzukin quizition is that

Meat cleaver, leave a gas in a bitches ass
See her dreams of being an R&B singer diva
Leave her face, cut her from the waist
Ah man what a waste, of a pretty face
And this place ain't just safe, it's just straight gangsta
It ain't just New York or L.A. that pains no more
There's Latin Coun' Kings here
Southside, four, East Side and Gansen
Nuthin but ganglands and, spray paint cans
And when that van rolls up, man they ain't glancing
That window rolls down and that tre-eight's dancing
And them shooters don't miss, homie they hate chancing
Straight for the dome and it's vacate fast and
Get the fuck outta dodge 'fore that blue Dodge flashing
Red and blue lights, no ambulance, you got flattened
And this was not supposed to be no Detroit anthem
But just so ya know, if ya see them D-Boys passing

That is >> 95% of the rap game

Eminem just falls in another category of rappers that must drop 5/5 shit 24/7, as soon as somethings wack everybody gets on his dick.

eminem was wack on re-up as far as im concerned and most people not holding onto shady nuts, you can write all the verses you want but that never plays anyting with me because it has to sound good when he is spittin it, not writing it down....

"1 2 3 n to the 4 snoop doggy dogg n doctor dre is at the do'".....that line there is better than the whole song....

a more at home example for you would be....

"go shawty its your b'day" again greater than all that you just posted up.....

another example...this time by eminem....."im a poet to some a regular modern day shakespear" again one line greater than that whole joint....

verses to do not have to be very flashy or very simple to sound good, it just has to sound natural whatever you are spitting....rught now encore and re up sounding horrible...em did not even sound washed up, he just sounded like he has never rapped before half the time....i was thinkin what the fuck is he doin half the time....his flow and vioce sound horrible and needs to practise spittin on the mic again.....

my lil one line examples show that writing verses is a waste of time because those lines kill anything mentioned above....but that does not mean complex rhymes do not do shit.....if its complex and still great, shit that is great but nuttin there is anything special and eminem needs to step his game up big time....i doubt he will ever get back to where he was but he needs to be spittin some fire and spittin abit more natural.....right now eminem is wack....straight up wack....

shit im not even a fan of t.i. but i respect dude got mad street buzz but he right now is on another level compared to eminem and i would rather listen an eminem album ahead of a t.i album anyday and im black which is saying something,(unless it is encore)lol.....ludacris....miles ahead of eminem....but luda has always been great to me....and if you want to to do the whole typing out rhymes thing.....type up ludas verses from that joint he did with mary j.....a singe so it was still playable on radio yet it was incredible, deep and the lyrics were amazing...nothing amazing flashy or anything but inspiring....kinda like how eminem would spit back in the day....but you know since luda did that joint instead of eminem it did not get the same attention because it was not spit by the great white hope....

right now many rappers are better than eminem....shit snoops last album to me was weak but damn right now snoop is much better than eminem....atleast he can still rap like its nuttin....

eminem needs to start enjoying rapping again, jump in a studio, talk on the mic, dont scream, just spit....like he did on joints like "i never knew i would get this rich".....cannot remember the title name of that song but it was crazy.....off MMLP....u know what im talking about....dre needs to get eminem in a studio and let him know what is up....

and do not get me wrong....i am no eminem hater....i thought MMLP was off the hook, sslp was nice and eminem show while weak to me i could still respect people who like this album....encore and re up garbage.....oh now i remember the last time eminem sounded sick to me was on the source and nail in a coffin joints....he was spittin crazy then......but it was suited for that time...now his is weaaaaaaaaaaaaak...lol....sorry i typed too much shit so i am gettin bored of basically explaining my point....

anyways this message was not no diss to you but i get the feeling dubcc is gettin infected with too many cats who do not understand hiphop or are straight up stupid/groupies.....a long ass time ago i made a thread about how to understand hiphop you need to understand the culture and its roots....looking over dubcc and posts on both sides of the board it saddens me some of the bullshit some of the new cats are making....not a diss to new cats who make dope contributions....(quiet truth) but others who know nuttin (your uncuts and xanders johnny and so on)

anyway about your last post about eminem being in a list of rappers who are expected to drop 5/5 albums everytime....not true but it is true that the expectations are higher with people like him, jigga, nas, snoop, luda...and rightly so....they are the best in the game so people will expect more....they should be puttin out solid albums everytime with the amount of resources and money they have made through us....it is what we expect rightly so and it is something they accept...unless they want to swap positions with a broke ass rapper, haha

pz......

p.s. keep posting your threads on the latest news and joints of anything and everything dawg, like i said this is not a diss towards you, i read some of your posts and threads and the shit is always appreiciated but i just wanted to explain what i was saying

pz

word I feel you, though one of the reasons I loved it was cause it was gangsta and I jus love that gangsta shit. Though he ain't really talking bout him doin the shit he jus mentioning the gangstas and painting a picture but with that said it does kinda sound like he sayin he gangsta if he spittin bout that. But at the same time it didnt really bother me cause Obie is gangsta and spittin a diff kinda verse prob wouldn't of fit the track. Either way to me its all entertainment Im pretty sure 90% of these 'gangsta rappers' aint gangsta at all in reality, at least now anyways

When I first listened to "There They Go", it was the hungriest I've heard Em spit in ages. He just had that raw flow and that tone in his voice that reminded me of his earlier shit. Lately, his lyrics have been pretty decent in my opinion. Not his very best, but it is a step up from his verses on Encore.
