I was a little kid in the 80's... and one of the most popular cartoons was Gummi Bears. This show was set in the middle ages time period, with draw bridges, and castles and war weapons from that era. The show definitely takes inspiration from the Crusades era of European History. All the good guys, the Gummi Bears are like the Romans in the show, in their talk, dress, etc.
And their enemy is this evil bad guy named Ethmad (kind of sounds like Ahmed) or something like that, who is the leader of the bad guys in the show. His features could be described as either Turkish (because of his mustache, the Turks were Christian crusaders fiercest foes from 1400 to 1900) or Arab (from the looks of his large, round, Arab nose, Arab Muslims were Christendoms fiercest foe from 700-1400), and he has an Islamic looking beard as well. He exacts complete totalitarian rule over his henchmen, and rules by fear.
...you all may laugh at this stuff and say I'm making a big deal about nothing, but the things we see, hear, and love as a child heavily influence a world view that often stays with us for the rest of our life.

Naw man, he's right. When I was a kid there were a lot of muslim kids in my class and we were all friends but once I started watching Gummi Bears I started to hate those kids, called them rag heads and shit. I never knew why but it all traces back to this cartoon when I think about it. It all makes sense now.
This cartoon was way ahead of it's time. It was the Regan years and while most cartoons were subliminally bashing Soviet communist dictators, this cartoon saw the war ahead and bashed muslims. Except the main villain wasn't Ethmad. I never heard of Ethmad. The main villain was Duke Sigmund Igthorn who was a knight of the king that tried to rebel, was banished and started his own army of ogres, that look like vikings, and waged war against his former king. That's nothing like the story of the crusades. Sounds more like the story of Lucifer and God. So why did I hate all those muslim kids. Shit, I owe a lot of people from grade school a lot of apologies.

^^^^ Yeah, when I was a kid, the Great Sir Reagan told me that it was the evil atheistic Commies in the USSR that we were fighting, whereas Muslims like the Mujahadeen fighting the Soviets in Afghanistan were the "freedom fighters" and "revolutionaries" we should look up to. The great Sylvester Stallone, who was like my role model back then, told me the same thing in the wonderful movie "Rambo III" (remember it?). As a patriotic Commie-hating American, I quickly realized the message these great men were trying to tell my black ass - "Muslims are cool 'cause they're anti-Commie, just like us!" So what did I do? I began thinking about converting to Islam! I even went to a mosque to see what it was all about.
Then, many years later, Sir Dubya (another great American) told me that the Muslims in Afghanistan were now our worst enemy and that we'd have to go to war and confront them. This has confused me horribly and fucked up my brain. Sometime, I processed the ideas all wrong and, while trying to come up with my own coherent philosophy, realized I now hated AmeriKKKa and couldn't trust people like Dubya or Stallone or Reagan anymore. What I needed was simple - my own ideology that eschewed the lies they had told me! Now I have it...it's called Pan-African Socialism, and it has elements of both communism and Islam, and the general gist is that whites lose. Great isn't it?
