He meant to push him away, not elbow him in the face. i think thats fairly obvious.
its just unlucky he caught him. it happened right in front of me, and lucks worse on t.v.

Right before the elbow ya can see Sol run a step forward with the ball, you can see that sol clearly runs with his elbow like that anyway.  It looked like Ole ran into his elbow and made it look like sol had elbowed him by hitting himself in the face with his hands.  I know it may sound wierd but watch it closely.  To me it looks like Sol has his elbow up but Ole runs into it and it hits his hands and then he hits himself in the face with his hands.  JUst have a look.

What od you mean WHAT A RESULT.  You are saying that as if you knew you where gunna get a draw, dont act like didnt expect to win about 3-0 because since you beat newcstle you have been going on about how all the gunners are scared and shit.  The end of the day Vanny goal was class, Henry's 1st was lucky, 2nd was clearly offside and giggs was good but at the end of the day they out played you.  Ok it was 2-2 but its not the result you have been going on about all week is it Jay.  NO!!!!

Whats this ashley cole stuff your chattin?

What the fuck?

4 points off Arsenal in the league - not outplayed at all by the way - Lauren putting O'Shea out of the game was a big blow - because Gary Neville was shite when he came on and John O is AWESOME

So Arsenal's first was extremely lucky, the second 2 yards offside while we scored two great goals and Scholes and Ruud missed two great chances.

Outplayed?  Fuck off were we outplayed!

When we were beaten 3 - 1 by city in November everyone wrote us off.  When we lost to the scousers in the league cup and Charlton lost to Arsenal on the same day Arse went 8 points clear.  Everyone wrote us off and we're back and 3 points ahead.

Apart from the last day Arsenal have the harder run in.  Bolton and Middlesbrough away - tough.  Southampton and a resurgent Leeds at home - tough.  Compare that with Charlton and Blackburn home and Spurs (whose fans will want us to beat them) away we are firmly in the driving seat.

Great result tonight.

It wasn't deliberate, Sol's not malicious, even if it was Solskjaer can't complain, Sol barely touched him and Ole was mouthing off to Ashley all night, but only when the ref was between them, he deserved it.

I'm pleased wth tonights result, we should've won, but we finished with ten men and went a goal down, so i cant complain. But then, thats why we're the champions.

Lot's of positives from tonight, Pires looked sharp, Thierry netted a brace, Freddie, Ashley (what a talent) and Gilberto were all superb, shame Paddy limped off, but even half fit he was schooling Butt and Keane in the art of footy, fucking brilliant, i love that lad.

Ruud took his goal well.

I'm seeing double right now.

Title: Re:Sol's Elbow
Post by: Sol on April 16, 2003, 05:39:04 PM
just watched the video of the game.
i thought the draw was just about right. we were poor in the first half and better in the second. i didnt realise henry was so far offside for our goal, oh well we deserved an offside to go our way, we've had about 4 or 5 wrongfully dissalowed this year.

dennis was poor yet again, but ashly cole was my man of the match (giggs no way). i wouldnt swap this boy for carlos, he played great tonight. freddie and bob looked fresh aswell.

i can see why sol was sent off, but it could have gone either way. if he had stayed on i think we would have won.

im confident with our run in, we always play well at brough and bolton. and our home games are winable. blackburns a tough game for the mancs and so is the yids (liverpool lost there at this stage last year). just hope everton are still in with a champions league spot come the last game.

If Ruud had scored a goal like Henry's second and it stood, i would be spitting blood, that was scandalous, but funnily enough i aint complaining.

Shame your 12th man Mike Riley wasn't ref, you might've beaten a ten man Arsenal, playing without our best player then.

I assume you watched our game versus Liverpool - or seen the highlights.
Would you like to point out which of the decisions Mike Riley got wrong?
I'll think you'll find the answer is none.

The second penalty, when Scholes jumped into Biscan, just outside the area and your 12th man gave the penalty,  Riley should've been credited with an assist for that goal.

nar mate it was deffo a pen.  It mite of been outside the area but it was a defo pen.  I dunno Biscan was in the area, scholes was outside, the contact was made on the line of the pen area.  FUck the kopties, I say a defo pen!

Sol's elbow connected with Ole. FACT
The linesman's view was that it was a clear sending off.  FACT
Arsenal's second goal was a disgrace.  FACT

So what the fuck are you talking about.

Mike Riley - assist?

Hmmm Graham Poll.

Typical Arsenal hypocrites.  How does it feel to know that we are the better team.

ONE SEASON WONDERS

Typical Arsenal hypocrites.  How does it feel to know that we are the better team.

You came to Highbury against an out of form Arsenal and drew,  eventhough we finished with 10-men and did'nt have our best player on the field for the most part, well done, clearly your by far the better team.

Does Poll run into players everytime he refs an Arsenal game? no, does Mike Riley give a penalty to Man Utd almost everytime he refs at Old Trafford? Yes.

Arsenal got written off this time last year and we done the double, so we'll do the same again this year, thats why we're the champions.

Lets settle this right here.

EVERTON have kicked arsenals ass at goodison, we was unlucky at Highbury, we was quite unlucky at Old Trafford, I think Yobo got sent off.  I really think we will beat Man utd the last game of the season.  Goodsion has got to be the most feared ground in the prem this season.

1) Yobo wasn't sent off against us.
2) Us and Arsenal have the best home records.

Joachim  - Face it you were outplayed

I never denied that, thats why Wednesday's result was a superb result for an out of form Arsenal who played poorly, we could've easily lost 3-0, but we didn't we drew with our title rivals, thats the mark of champions.

Sp*rs losing 2-0 at home to Citeh, thats the mark of spud scum.

i dont think anyone was sent off we beat u 3-0 with 3 goals in the last ten mins.

Anyway it was a def red card for campbell i thought it was pretty ironic that the arsenal fans were calling solsksjaer a cheat, he was clearly struck in the face. and this is coming from a team that has cole and jeffers in, if the wind blows they fall over. Arsenal fans claiming that the ref was on uniteds side lol how far offside was henry? not to mention arsenal shef utd game.

Kanu and Bergkamp r awful.  Kanu is one of the worst forwards in the prem league and Bergkamp doesnty do enough of everything when he is on the field.  Gunners better get rid of them at the end of the season if they r gunna try and get a world class team.

My God Bez insults the holy Bergkamp.

The man's career is built on 2 - 3 moments of brilliance a season.  Other than that he walks around stamping on people.

Bergkamp is a legend, you dont get the reputation for football he has all over Europe by "2-3 moments of brilliance a season", you only get that from season after season of sublime football at the top level, from scoring one of the greatest goals ever (against the Argies) on the biggest stage of the biggest sport in the world. Look at how Holland have missed his contribution, failing too qualify for a world cup? that was unheard of in Holland until Bergy retired.

He'll be remembered in history as a great player by fans all over Europe, your grandkids will be asking you about Bergkamp and what he did on the field in 40 years time.

If my kids ever ask who Bergkamp was I will be gutted cos I dont think there is anything I can tell them.  He is finished.

Really? You could'nt tell them about the '98 season when he carried Arsenal to the double and won the Pfa and Football Writers player of the year award and finished 3rd in the world player of the year awards and got goal of the season aswell?

Or when he became the first ever player to win 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the goal of the month competition?

When a young Bergkamp (playing alongside Van Basten) scored the 4th in Holland's 4-1 demolition of England in '88 or when he scored that lovely cushioned second goal against England in Rotterdam in '94 that cost Taylor is job and England a place at USA '94?

Or his goal of the season against Newcastle last year? Or his '98 World Cup goal of the tournament against Argentina? Or when in '98 he did a Maradona turn over the ball beating 2 (could've been 3) Sunderland players before sinking a 30 yard curler top right of their net?

You missed all that? Not many players could make a highlight reel as good as Maradona's but this lad could.

ill give you kanu, hes a lazy peice of shit.
but Dennis!! come on guys, the mans a legend, his form recently has been poor, but hes arsenals all time greatest player (close with him and brady).
he won us the double in 98, and played a huge role last year.
hes hollands all time leading scorer (well untill ruud Van Wonfuckall beats it with two yard tap ins and pens) and think of some of the players they have had.

And Jay, you definatly didnt outplay us, come on. ill admit you were the better team overall, definatly first half, we shaded the second. i just think that that could be the point that could win us the league (touch wood)

I never denied his talent.  Re- read what I said, I stand by it.

Calling Bergkamp your greatest ever is an insult to Tony Adams, David Seaman, Ian Wright, Patrick Vieira etc.

Frank Stapleton did more than Bergkamp

And he didn't singlehandedly win you the title - check Overmars, Vieira, Petit and Keane's cruciate.

The man's career is built on 2 - 3 moments of brilliance a season.

That isnt denying the mans talent? Saying a player who's career has been littered with success and sublime football has been built on "2-3 moments of brilliance a season" is as far as i'm concerned you're denying the mans talent and not only that but what he has achieved.

Quote

I have never called him Arsenal's greatest.

I disagree with both, Overmars, Vieira and Petit all played well but without Bergkamps goals and assists we'd have won fuck all, he was vital throughout.

My general impression of him is a shady bastard who will always leave his foot in, and will look to injure a player, and generally gets subbed after 60 - 70 minutes.

Going back to the elbow, it was never an accident.

And Bergkamp is a good player. Kanu is shit, Cygan is shit, and Lauren is shit (and hes got a girls name, whats that all about?).

...................Viera............
Swedish twat................Pires
..................Bergkamp......
...........Jeffers.........Henry

That would be a nice midfield and attack.
