I Go With 100 Wayz

100 Wayz,
I barely listened to That Was Then This Is Now other than a couple joints.
I'll tell you what though, if you combined the two albums it would = a classic.
-
I'm the exact reverse...That Was Then This Is Now was dope all the way thru IMO.
I liked the mixing too....100 Wayz sounds rushed and poorly mixed.
-
TWTTIN was more a south-album than a west coast, 100 wayz was better imo.

you like the snap, crunk and all that bullshit i guess.

I Go With 100 Wayz
-
it's easy, 100 is way better IMO
-
I only still listen to two songs from 100 Wayz, whereas I still listen to zero from TWTTIN.
-
100 Wayz was a good album. But still not shit on the old death row album.

Co-sign. I mixed the best tracks from both albums and got myself a classic DPG LP 8)
-
Listened to both of these yesterday got to go with 100 wayz, production is better and sounds more cohesive.
-
both are shit 8)
-
That Was Then was better imo
-
That Was Then ....
-
Lyrically- That Was Then
Beats, Mixing, Mastering- 100 Wayz
Basically the same album TWTTIN having most of the original tracks for 100 Wayz and the current version with mainly all new track. Dave Lopez who does all of Ice Cube's mixing, did a hell of a job on 100 Wayz.
-
2 all yall who picked "that was then.." why?
100 wayz sounds more 90ish for me than the southern-style on "that was then".
-
That's the problem. It sounds really weird on 100 Wayz from my perspective because it feels like they're desperate for Dubcnn forum people to love the album so they're trying to make it sound as 1990s as possible.
That Was Then was more modern West Coast, it wasn't South.
And the West and South have been connected and sharing styles and techniques for decades in Hip Hop since Rap-A-Lot borrowed elements from the West when it was starting up.
But I realize I'm weird...I liked Only on the Left Side all the way through.

That was then This Is Now! Love It..bangin beats..
