the only groups i really like from that list are guerilla maab & cypress hill ,but i wouldnt say they are the best , they havent done a lot for hip hop like run dmc etc

out of all groups....i would say run dmc has one over on the fugees as well as gangstarr & pete rock & cl smooth...(even though theres only 2 to the group)
but the fugees have always been one of my favorites.

I voted Outkast because I was torn in between Bone, NWA, and Wu Tang :( Outkast is my also one of my tops, breatest of all time for me.

Mobb Deep-They are pretty much the epitome of New York hip hop, plus theyve been around just about any year you can think of doing mixtapes or guest appearances or their own albums. Their longevity and ability to maintain one image over the years definetly puts them up as a nominee.

NWA was great but only released two LPs and was gone by '92.
Outkast is a good contender now, you can't really say anything bad about them.
The Fugees? nope, one album doesn't get you to number one.

The only greatest Hip-Hop group of all-time is Run DMC. There is no rest, all the others are still trying to come close, and they can't. 5 classic albums, please, Run DMC has Run DMC, King of Rock, Raising Hell, Tougher Than Leather and Down With the King. Outkast many come close to what Run DMC did, but honestly, they haven't gone the miles. They do come close, but the impact of Run DMC is even greater than what 2Pac did for solo acts, or Rakim, or KRS-One. Hell, I put Run DMC over Boogie Down Production, even though KRS-One is way more lyrically gifted than both members of Run DMC. But look at Run DMC's greatest hits CD, it reads like a hip-hop's greatest hits. Outkast was pretty good, and KRS-One/BDP's greatest hits is good, but neither is as strong as Run DMC. R.I.P. Jam Master Jay, but honestly, no matter what happens, no one, and I mean no one, is ever touching what Run DMC did for hip-hop. Just look at that greatest hits, and look at all those songs that are considered hip-hop classics, and just pop music classics in general.

In your opinion Outkast has 5. In mine, they have 2,Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik and Aquemini. Also, Outkast has not had even close to the impact that Run DMC had, and two of the most respected opinions to me one this board both said Run DMC, Hatesrats and Techniec. Honestly, Outkast is good, I voted for them up top, but in no way shape or form have they had the impact that Run DMC had. Run DMC has classic albums, classic songs, and they are the foundation of radio hip-hop.

FACT: Master P blew the south up more than outkast did, outkast influenced southern rap yes, but P blew it up, this new south craze is more attributed to P
My favourite kast album is their first, but id say aqueimi and atliens were their best albums, stankonia was good but over rated, and speakerbox/love bellow was too much bs

It really doesn't matter the skill. 2Pac is the greatest rapper of all time even though most don't consider him a lyrist. In reality, Run DMC is the great group because they have had more hits, more impact, they have influinced more people, and no matter what, there affect on hip-hop will be felt for a very long time. They have more classic albums. for Outkast, as I said, they have Southern.... and Aquemini, and Run DMC has many albums. Outkast has changed with every album, but that doesn't make each album great. Run DMC was the first to expand into rock, and they did it very well. No group has had the commercal success of Run DMC. No group. Name one that's was play as much on MTV than Run DMC in the 80's, maybe Outkast now, but that's it. I'll agree, Outkast is the only group that comes close. N.W.A. had potential, but they never had an album that took full advantage of everyone in their group, Wu Tang has 7 lyrist that are all better than either 3000 or Big Boi, and 2 classics, but honestly, Iron Flag and The W were just hard to listen to, for me at least. It comes down to me, Outkast and Run DMC because they were the ones that stayed consistant over the years, and in the end, I think Run DMC is the only choice.

LMAO... 7 Lyrist?... What 7?.... Didn't LL Cool J write some songs for Run DMC? Also DMC had a huge gap were they fell off the Planet for a while before coming back with down with the king. I heard it was because LL stopped writing for them.... But no matter what they are still a great group!.... Outkast is Surperb as well... I'm undecided :-\

Is no-one gonna mention Tribe in this? Outkast have 2 classics, Tribe have three (Peoples Instinctive Travels, Low End Theory, Midnight Marauders), they are easily above Outkast in my reckoning.
The reason Outkast getting a lot of radio/video play, is because 1) Ms Jackson was a straight pop song, 2)They wear stupid clothes and 3) Hey Ya sounded like a crap Foo Fighters song so appealed to a large audience.
