After 13 years of speculation and legal wrangling, the late Tupac Shakur’s dream of musically uniting the East and West Coasts has become a reality with the release of his ambitious One Nation album. The opus was originally conceived by Tupac in 1996, after he witnessed the media and fan fallout of his personal feud with former friend The Notorious B.I.G. Feeling that the issue had caused unnecessary tension between entire coasts, Tupac reached out to respected Brooklyn collective Boot Camp Clik to release a joint project dispelling any media notion of a Hip-Hop civil war. From Shakur’s California residence, the parties worked diligently on completing a full album in time for release the following year. Because of Tupac’s unsolved September 1996 murder, tracks from the project were indefinitely shelved and remained in limbo for the next 13 years. Now, label A.E.G. has acquired the rights for the 18-track LP, and will release One Nation as a digital-only album. Guests assisting Tupac and Boot Camp on the project include Snoop Dogg, Busta Rhymes, Tha Outlawz, Big Daddy Kane, Greg Nice, and the Notorious B.I.G.

that would never have been the case in 1996....are they just throwing a remix of Running on there?

Damn. More digital download stuff, but we still need some concrete evidence of all this going down. Once again, if true this would be great news, but it's another "believe-it-when-I-see-it" scenario.

Yeah. I checked Amazon.com's site and saw that that was already up for download. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that the same version of "One Nation" that Shorty-O was selling on here? It sure looks like the same cover art. But if it is a bootleg, how is Amazon.com allowed to sell the mp3's?

This "album" is nothing more than a lame bootleg. The person(?) who put this together, downloaded a bunch of mp3s, packaged it and is now looking to rip you off. I also hear he enjoys 6 ft. philly cheesesteaks every morning with a side of ribs.
Do yourself a favor and avoid this and every other release put out by this "company".

This is a different company
Label: Affiliated Records
Copyright: 2009 Affiliated Records
From allhiphop.com
Now, label A.E.G. has acquired the rights for the 18-track LP, and will release One Nation as a digital-only album.
One Nation will be released on Friday March 20 through all major digital distributors such as iTunes and Amazon.
(AEG are the same company who have done the michael jackson concerts.)

Well, assuming that's true, maybe he can put it up for sale on Amazon.com, but he's not going to be able to sell Crooked I songs he doesn't have. So if the tracklist has no new tracks but it has stuff on it like "G'd Up and Banged Out," "So Damn Hood," and other common songs on it, I would hope everyone would be smart enough to avoid buyng it.
-
WTF?!? I just checked Itunes and this is listed as being available on there as well. According to itunes it's been available since Feb. 24., and the record company listed is Affiliated Records. How could a bootleg end up on Amazon.com and Itunes like this?
-
Digital download only! Son of a whore.
-
Digital download only! Son of a whore.
I don't think you're missing anything. I think this will end up being fake. Even if they were going to release a 2pac album as a digital download only, I think they would give it more than a week to promote the release.
-
Was it completed before his death or are they finishing it now? I hope it doesn't end up being like the last few 2Pac "albums" we've been getting.

I believe 2pac, The Outlawz, and the Bootcamp Clique completed an album's worth of tracks in 1996. They may not have been completely mixed down but I think all the vocals were laid for at least one albums worth of songs. However, what they end up releasing, if it ever comes out offically could be a different story. Especially given the history the later 2pac releases have had for having heavily remixed material. What's being offered currently on Amazon and Itunes however is a compilation of tracks that are readily available online. Most of them aren't new remixes, but they are tracks that are pretty common. If anything else actually comes out next week, it will most likely be another bootleg with more easy-to-find tracks.
-
Can you post a song from both the official release and the original bootleg? I want to compare the quality. We'll see if Affiliated Record's release of "One Nation" is legit or not.

i remember the cd that came with the thug immortal dvd.. the interviewer asked pac.. n he gave a list of everybody that was suppose to be on it...

Unless I'm mistaken, I think it was originally conceived as a two-disc project. One disc was to be released on Duck Down Records and the other disc on Death Row Records. I think maybe only one album worth of tracks were actually completed. But probably only a few people know exactly which tracks and how many. I know that Bone Thugs confirmed in interviews that even though 2pac implied that they would be featured on the album, they never had a chance to record anything for it. I'm not sure how many guest artists did have time to contribute. I think some of the people he named in that interview probably did record songs for it and some didn't.
-
I doubt this project has Afeni's backing. She likes to promote all his releases and interscope releases them....i doubt she'd let all those good One Nation tracks be digital download only by a no name record company. Plus, is it a coincidence that this CD conists of tracks that have already been leaked?? I know "Just Watchin'" was intended for The Doggfather album, not for One Nation, but Snoop pulled it because he didn't want to capitalize on Pac's death (at least that is what snoop said).
But, like it or not, the memory of 2Pac fades more and more every year. I'm not sure what Afeni expects to gain by continuing to wait to release these 2pac tracks, as I can only imagine the amount of sales she will get diminishes every year as more and more of his previous fans move on to other things.

Yeah. "Just Watchin'" isn't a One Nation track, and "Basket Case ('96 Sho Shot)" is, and it conspicuously absent from the list. I suppose the argument could be made that a different "One Nation" album with a different tracklist will surface on March 20th, but even then I doubt it will be the official album. As you said, if this was real, it would have a proper release from Interscope and Amaru.

damn no promo or nuthin

This is fake!!! Affiliated Records = In The Bank Ent = Shortyo = Shonuff. Do not support this, this is nothing more than a bootleg being made to look official. I seriously hope legal action is taken against that fat fuck and karma finally catches up to him.

Just wondering what's the point when everything has been leaked anyways?
It's not like One Nation would compete in the same league as Me Against The World or The Don Killuminati.

she sure did. someone needs to re release all those songs in og form.
-
I don't think the real version will ever be released in it's entirety. It may all eventually leak as a bootleg or the tracks may slowly bleed out one at a time in a heavily remixed form (ala "World Wide Dime Piece" on "Pac's Life), but I very much doubt it will see an official release in stores.
-
The proper One Nation album was like 10 tracks.
-
The proper One Nation album was like 10 tracks.
Way more than that. The best tracks from One Nation haven't hit the net.
-
One of the frustrating things about the "One Nation" album is that no one who knows has ever given a definitive answer as to which tracks belong on the album. Some of them are obvious because they make reference to "One Nation" in the song itself. We also know there are some tracks that haven't leaked from "One Nation." But I wonder if there are some tracks that have leaked that may also belong on the album, but so far have not been confirmed by anyone in-the-know as being "One Nation" tracks.
-
The album is already on iTunes. Just search for 2Pac - One Nation and you can buy it online.
My version is still a lot better than any version online.

Nas was supposed to be on this album too:

Yeah. We've been talking about that. Apparently it was uploaded in late February. It's not the real album. It's Shorty-O's bootleg version. I'm still not sure how he pulled off selling it on there but he did. It's on itunes as well. If you look closely at the tracklist though, you'll see its missing some songs from the "One Nation" album, and it has some songs on it that aren't "One Nation" songs.

Who is Dru Ha? Come on, man...is this a quasi-admission that you're behind the Music Media LLC Crooked I project? I'm not even trying to start a fight. At this point, I would just like to know what's going on? And while we're on the subject, do you know anything about this March 20th "One Nation." For the record, I would've supported an Itunes or Amazon.com download for "Say Hi to the Bad Guy." I just wanted the music. It didn't matter to me who was selling it and if so and so was really so and so. I don't care how many internet names someone uses and I'll wager there were others who felt the same. But for whatever reason, the project was cancelled. And it seems that Los Skanless is no longer interested in selling. He probably feels like it's too much of a headache.
-
no im not music media i wish i had the content or ida did the same thing i did with one nation lol
my comment was simply to state I emailed losskans when he advertised he was buying the album, told him what I could do and he let dantes net nerds get in his ear now look at him fucked his own money up. If i had the crook album id release it myself. So if anyone got the shit PM me and ill release it and give you 50% ill release it on itunes and all them place....
hell if you got any rare, unreleased music we can make a few thousand :)

Dru-Ha is the co-founder of Duck Down. The Music Media shit is bullshit. The actual REAL Say Hi album is locked up tighter than a Nun's private area. I honestly doubt Dru-Ha has a good copy of the tracks of One Nation. I know he has them, so does Buckshot, Digglah, etc. but they aren't the best quality.
-
even if its not "CDQ" its still the best we are gonna get. and he prob got shit we never heard so well see monday where the conversation is gonna take us :)

Well, I'll say this Dante has put out some pricey projects in the past. I wasn't aware he had even gotten involved in the whole Los Skanless Crooked I project. If my recollection serves me Dante has professed in the past to not be interested in Crooked I's music, so it never would have occurred to me that he'd even have an opinion. As far as the Music Media LLC, I think it must be a scam. I could find no Canada-based company called that. And no record of an Adam Bouchard. While I'd like to believe it's true, there seems to be no evidence to support it.

Oh, okay. Gotcha. This is pretty strange. I wonder why the release dates don't match up? And I also wonder why itunes, amazon.com, or allhiphop.com didn't check to see if this was an official release.
-
i'm not going to get into some huge beef nonsense, but when shortyo talks about fronting money it's untrue. he uses a cd shipping and pressing service out of japan wherein you upload your material and they produce copies on an as needed basis, shipping them to your customers too. there are no up front costs to him and there is no work on his part after the upload is done. if he was serious and not strictly about project repackaging he'd have spent the $1300 (since his youtube shows that it's chump change to a tycoon of his status) to secure the material and make his money back through sales.
why people continue to take him seriously is beyond me - especially since the last project he was selling was a figment of his imagination and was a straight jack move. look, he's not even beyond "rebranding" some e-book on how to pick up women (good luck with that): http://www.lulu.com/shortyo ...it's time the internet moves on beyond children in hip hop clown suits.
-
seems like the fag dante benz cant leave the internet alone... yes your right we used a company in japan to press the cds on demand for all the IN THE BANK releases... all the major projects that are distributed threw our major distributor unfortunately have to go the regular route and get pressed up ahead of time. So your only HALF FUCKING IDIOT at this time
like i said if you dont know how the game works please dont speak on it. call any distro and ask them how they work lol Koch, Emi, Caroline Distribution Anyone of them will tell you exactly what i told you

so then any news on one nation book 2

Yesterday (March 13), digital label A.E.G. announced that Tupac Shakur and Boot Camp Clik’s fabled One Nation album would finally see an official release on March 20. While Hip-Hop fans were surprised, no one was more so than Duck Down CEO Dru Ha, who explained that his organization was never approached about releasing the album they helped create. “Aside from Pac before he passed and continuing to stay in contact with the Outlawz and the family, nobody has even been in contact with us about our involvement, our interest in tracks, etc.” Dru Ha told AllHipHop.com in an exclusive statement. “I’ve never heard of this company but we’ll certainly be contacting them to find out what we’re not in the know of.” One Nation was the brainchild of Tupac and Boot Camp Clik, and aimed at dispelling the growing tensions between East and West Coast artists and fans in the wake of the Bad Boy-Death Row feud.

Duck Down Speaks on Disputed Tupac 'One Nation' Release
By Ismael AbduSalaam
“I’ve never heard of this company but we’ll certainly be contacting them to find out what we’re not in the know of.”
One Nation was the brainchild of Tupac and Boot Camp Clik, and aimed at dispelling the growing tensions between East and West Coast artists and fans in the wake of the Bad Boy-Death Row feud.
According to a press release from A.E.G., the album includes appearances from The Notorious B.I.G., Snoop Dogg, Busta Rhymes, Big Daddy Kane, Greg Nice, and Tha Outlawz.
At press time, Afeni Shakur and representatives from the Shakur estate could not be reached for comment.
On February 24, Duck Down released Smoke N Mirrors, the debut album from Cypress Hill frontman B-Real.

a shame you were never actually a fan of the music, shortyo, because if you were more than just an opportunist you'd know that biggie on one nation is laughable, and it's not busta rhymes.

Sweet link. Same ol' limewire garbage though.

To me, the most ridiculous part of this whole thing is that some one with actual legal rights to this album could release it properly and make large sums of money. Being that it was the last 2pac album that was actually his brain child and not just a compilation of unreleased 2pac songs, I think it would sell quite well, even now. But instead these tracks will probably continue to collect dust for another 13 plus years. Oh sure, we'll get more 2pac albums. But I very much doubt we'll ever get this one.

Dante's information has already leaked all over the internet. That wouldn't be ground breaking. Plus, Dante made his money off 2Pac and made more money than In The Bank and For The People combined with G. Litt. So, I don't honestly think he cares. No offense Richard.

All-hiphop should've checked their source before they ran that first story to begin with. I'm glad they ran a follow-up and all, but all this confusion could have been avoided.

Also, it's not professional to leak people's information. I thought you were a record company or a business man? Not a person like um how do you say an e-banger?

Yeah, they ran Untouchable claiming the song was unheard. LOL. Anyhow, I like them because Illseed ran that D.O.C. story which made my day.

Don't know about Itunes, but it looks at though Amazon.com removed the album.
-
Looks like the kid's bootleg hustle is slowing come to an end. That AllHipHop listing will probably bring him some unwanted legal attention.
-
like i said if you dont know how the game works please dont speak on it. call any distro and ask them how they work lol Koch, Emi, Caroline Distribution Anyone of them will tell you exactly what i told you
No, they wouldn't. You already showed from the comment below that you don't have the slighest concept of how business is actually handled.
as for you thinking that i need to recoup any costs before anyone gets paid... dont work like that, we work out a 3:1 deal with every artists which means for every $3 they make we take a $1 to recoup the costs we put out meaning if a album sells for $15 we get $12... outta that 12 its split 50/50... out of the artists $6 we take $2 to recoup back what we spent.
For you to even think any business (no matter what industry) could be run this way is laughable. You actually think a record label could stay in business if they gave artists that large a percentage of their earnings before they turned a profit? The person investing the money is always going to make way more than the artist. If you didn't even know that then you're not even competent as a "pretend" CEO. Might be time to move on to a different forum where people will actually believe that sci-fi fantasy BS.

It's only a matter of time before itunes removes it :D
-
This fat pile of mess known as Shortyo seems to spread around quicker than an STD when describing the words 'cheap' and 'imitation'.
There's no hatred in a jealous sense whatsoever so he needs to quit with that BS. The fact is that he arrogantly fronts like he is a made man like he needs to prove to the world that he gets money is distasteful. Check out Dorkyo's myspace pics and you'll clearly see what I'm talking about! You don't get money like you say you do, regardless of how many pics of you wearing jewelry you want to take pictures of. You shortcut to spare whatever money you have free, and front like you're the cheif of the new Def Jam because you're getting to release a mixtape from the likes of Spider, whilst being egotistical about it that's why we don't like you. Don't think it's some kind of envious dislike due to money - which you don't
Being ridiculously exposed in such fashion should encourage you to do the right thing because there's nothing more cringe-worthy than an oversized wigger trying to act black and using words like "dawwwg", "whad up homie" etc. Go back to watching your SpongeBob Square Pants, WWE, and chatting up 17 year olds, and quit degrading the spirited name of One Nation with some already leaked degraded quality garbage

whys this thread still getting comments lol?
Lol. Good question. There's probably no good reason. I guess we're getting some measure of cheap entertainment out of this thread, but at this point, that's pretty much it.

He has been exposed and looks outrageously foolish (no pun intended) and is more than likely too humilated to reply, but no doubt he'll come back tomorrow or later today claiming he was too busy working with 'major' artists such as Berg man, Spider Loc, Massive C, or El Dogg, or go out and rent some more jewelry to take pictures of for his myspace and claim ownership of, or maybe he'll make another video - only this time - withdraw a good amount from his relatives savings as well fo the purpose of a "address the haters pt.2" video.
The guy is a joke!

He also puts on/forges his accent, and street slang. If you were to actually hear this guy talk professionally over the phone, or assosiated with anything sensibly, you would understand why it's cringe-worthy to be seeing him and hearing him doing the laboured street talk, and throwing up hand signals
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LMQSToKRUiI&feature=related
Watch this at 0:10 - 0:11 and you'll see what I mean. He has an identical 2Pac "Outlaw" tattoo on his forearm, and believes he is real. I mean, he's messed up, and has issues. In this same video you'll see him b!tch like a girl over another mans clothes and dress-sense. Something that a resentful and bitter girl does!
Right now - he'll be in the process of withdrawing relatives savings to add into his own, so that he can show a big bundle of money to internet people to try and prove he's a big shot, before giving it back to relatives to return to the bank. Fake people like him are a dime a dozen

Looks like WIDEAwake wants to shut this release down...
WIDEawake Death Row Entertainment LLC is the American company to which
the entire assets of Death Row Records and Suge Knight publishing were
assigned immediately upon the Death Row Trustees quick claim of the asset to
WIDEawake Entertainment Group Inc, which is a separate Canadian company.
WIDEawake Death Row Entertainment is determined to make its company about the
artists and fans who have defined and supported the music of Death Row
records. As such the Company is equally committed to shutting down illegally
distributed content such as the recent illegal release entitled '2P AC & Boot
Camp Clik Presents One Nation the Album' ASIN number B001 UCTFCQ which
includes several Death Row songs.

I like the part where his man asks him what magazine this photo shoot is for? His reply: "All of them." As if all rival hip-hop magazines were all gonna run the same photo shoot from one building.
It does seem like our boy's been awful quiet since both the rightful owner of the "One Nation" album and the new Death Row owners have stated his project isn't endorsed by them.
