im gunna DL this just for the production. Freeway can get real annoying sometimes
-
I will be checking this out tomorrow. Judging by them snippets, this sounds like its going to be a great album.
-
jake one killed it
-
yeah, only half way through but jake one is taking his beats to another level now 8)
he recently started to work in-house @ the math with dre and the team right? makes sense...
-
Something about this release isn't ringing right.
-
Off the first listen this sounds like a solid album
-
very solid album, damn Jake One is killin it with them beats 8)
-

yeah boy, that's tight!
-
definitely downloading this
-
packaging is dope!! album sounds good, may even purchase this :o lol
-
that intro is flames
-
WOW!!!!
Free moved up a bunch of notches on my list! Also, Props to Jake one!! I knew he could rock though, "Straight to the bank" by fiddy......its clear he has taken a page from the DRUMS of dr dre all over this thing and its great! soulful beats with hard drums.
I quickly rated this upon a careful first listen and got a rating of ~ 4/5
5 star/Highlights::::
one foot in
she makes me feel alright
one thing (ft. raekwon)
The Product
Freekin the beat (ft. latoya williams) MY FAV!!!!!
pretty much the whole thing is tight and i didnt rate any songs under 3/5 so that means bump it all the way through!
-
Ty Fyffe produced Straight To The Bank.
Jake One really stepped his game up. Beats are sounding super clean now.
-
Dope dope dope!!
Gonna cop this one...And I think Freeway's dope, not annoying at all 8)
-
great album! 8)
-
God damn this is ridiculous, what a great album.
-
Neven been a Fraaway fan, but he sounded real cool on Jake One's album. What I've heard from this project so far was promising, so I'll be checking for this! :)
-
I finally took time and listened to this record and Jake One kills it, this album is musically deep and well-produced.
I never been a fan of Freeway too but I liked his singles "What We Do" and "Flipside" from Roc-A-Fella/State Property era
well now I think he's average but he's aight on that record, some good phases here and there but nothing particular tho
Overall it's still pretty good and damn that cut with LaToiya Williams is amazing :o
-
great album! 8)

when i heard the snippets i knew this album had the potential to be in my top 5 at the end of the year.
jake took it to another level with the production, it stays consistent on the entire album. no fillers, maybe the birdman song which doesnt fit the album at all.
and freeway really stepped it up a few notches.
this is a great album, i love when these projects come out of nowhere and blow those highly anticipated records out the water.
i was gonna pick it up the day it drops, but when i saw the packaging video a few posts above, i had to order this immediately.

word. you get 1 producer and 1 rapper to bang an album out and the result is generally some of the best music out there.
also, to get something out in retail form fairly fast when so many rappers can't even drop a mixtape on time is straight. and to create some innovative packaging is really a great incentive to pick up a physical copy. mine was despatched yesterday 8)
hopefully it is supported and moves a few units. other rappers should take note of this project from both a creative and business standpoint.
-
Dope ass album.
I was going to buy but I got a fine yesterday...
Fuckt he police...

This was actually announced in February last year that this was coming. But seeing as I didn't have a clue it was coming, I wasn't patiently waiting and it seemed like it didn't take too long to make.

didn't know that, but the fact it did seem to come out of nowhere is a real positive. they obviously didn't spend time hyping it up endlessly, just announced it and the next thing you know it is released.
i could go on a rant but to be short, the endless delays and hype surrounding a lot of projects these days ends up being completely self-defeating.
some of these smaller, more fan orientated lables like the one this is coming out on are really emerging as solid business models. they have a sound understanding of what drives the digital and physical side of sales, which these days, is actually fans, not the person of lowest common denominator. a quality product is a quality product. no need to spend silly amounts on promotion except for what is most effective and available for free anyway, the internet.
-
i was really disappointed with this album. im guessing everyone here who is saying how great it is didnt hear 'the beat made me do it' mixtape? that shit was dope, great beats and free killed it. this album was NOTHING like the mixtape, and i think that was the best mixtape of last year! i guess its a decent album if u werent hyped off the mixtape.
mixtapes are supposed to build hype for an album but its not very good if the mixtape is in a completely different (but great and unique) style to the album. if u didnt hear that tape go check it out now!

damn i gotta bump that today, been sitting on my ever increasing 'to listen to' pile for a while. untagged didn't drop did it?
-
I wanted to preorded ir from fifth element, but the shipping is twice as high as the CD alone! So Free won't get my money
-
where you living? i got it from hmv at a pretty reasonable price (£10.99)

My favorite right now is The Product 8)
-
Favourites for me are Throw Your Hands Up, One Thing, Know What I Mean and The Product.
-
for anyone who missed it:
Don Cannon & Freeway - The Beat Made Me Do It http://www.mediafire.com/?mdoc3miduyy
-
its the first time in months i downloaded and liked a hiphop album. ill probably even buy this.
-
dope!! just given it my first listen through, production is solid pretty much from front to back, and Free sounds good too...is it me or has he lost some of the annoying whine he had before? 8)
-
I preordered it because:
A) you get both FREELAPSE & THE BEAT MADE ME DO IT - that's more or less 3 albums for 15 bucks (amount I spent) 5 bucks a pop is a great deal
B) that packaging is amazing
-
freeway should do an album with tom waits & aesop rock. i love raspy voices.
-
i cant get enough of "one foot in"

I tried but am just not a Freeway fan. The production is absolutely phenomenal but I can't listen to Freeway for too long :-\
-
Illegally downloading a pirated version of this retail album right now...
-
One Foot In is heavenly... Really really solid album. Best out so far in 2010.
-
Folloy my moves is my favorite prod on the album. Very original, south type of beat that could be big on the mainstream with the right rappers
-
I just bought this... Very solid album.
-
I just bought this... Very solid album.
Same here, absolutely amazing production. This one might top his debut for me 7 tracks in so far. 9.99 at Best Buy

Can't stop bumping it, probably my fav Freeway album and I used to play the shit out of his debut album. The joint with Bun B is dope as fuck.
-
I`ve been sleeping, this album is waaaay better than anything i heard in the last time. I`m most impressed by the beats, Jake One has stepped his game up BIG TIME.. You know what you get from Freeway, but he fits perfectly on these beats.. This is fire.
-
gotta admit i been bumping the instrumentals a lot. man, these are some sick beats, loads of detail and garnishes!!! 8)
'one foot in' is cold, what a bumping track 8)
and 'microphone killa' - on some old school bboy vibe. awesome 8)
-
Great album. I got my copy a few days back and have been playing it ever since. Of course, the packaging is getting all the love and hype but people shouldnt overlook the fact that the actual music is very good aswell.
-
Freeway's not the best rapper and some of these beats aren't the best but somehow the two of them together click and sound hot.
-

All the links are the same. I'm working on trying to make the track equal loudness.
-
Here is my effort at editing. I've probably ruined it in some way. Let me know what you think.
