Shit! Another good Dre beat, makes a nice change. Beats sounds like some old NWA/DOC shit, I like it ;D
-
Beat = no comment...
-
wack, wack, wack
-
damn this is just average. is this really Dr.Dre? LOL, its a disgrace"
-
so... is there anybody who still thinks that 09 is going to be aftermath's year?
-
beter then 99% beats in rap game. fuck u tripin ???
-
beter then 99% beats in rap game. fuck u tripin ???
i'm not saying this beat is wack. it's just not the beat i would expect from dre, his beats are getting worse and worse.
and for sure this beat/song is not the one that should be picked as a single. Do you guys think this song is going to make people buy a copy of BISD?
Damn it sounds more like a leftover track... it's nice... nothing more.
I'm starting to seriously think that new 50 album is going to be even worse than Curtis.
-
maan i'm get it in 8)
-
mayne all this shit is,is (all i really want is just alil.bit)from fif.2nd album...dre cheating his fan base bad.
-
Surely not a dre beat...
-
ThisIs50.com says it's produced by dre
-
this shit is NUTZZ!!!!
-
beter then 99% beats in rap game.
shit is bangin, chorus is gay but
-
Honestly I dont know if it is because its supposed to be a Dre beat but I expected more.. its not wack but its just ok. the song itself is ehhh...
-
shit is wack all around, dre has fallen of hardbody, he aint produced shit noteworthy recently
-
Shit! Another good Dre beat, makes a nice change. Beats sounds like some old NWA/DOC shit, I like it ;D
how do you figure?
-
i like this. best trak dre produced so far, dont like the 3 he done last year.
-
sounds similar to this
http://www.limelinx.com/files/24ef7b581ffe6a043512eafdc64df632
-
This is shit. The piano during the chorus sounds pretty good, too bad it's drowned out by the rest of the track.
-
Sidenote: That's a pretty tight record, MoMo..
------------------------------------------------------------------------
This new 50 Cent is a powerful record..
the majority of you are listening to it on the surface..
on the surface, it does sound pretty plain and average..
but if you really listen to it.. on a real system..
the kick sounds like a real kick as found on a true drum set (you can even hear 'bump' echo)..
the snare is taking it back! who else can hear two quarters simultaneously hitting a lunchtable?
(suga free is a reference point for the snare)
the grand piano section is a real grand.. played live each time, no sample and is reminiscent to the "Outta Control (Remix)"..
everything in the track was mixed suddle.. the drums are the most dominant instrument
..because the emphasis is on 50's song.. which is actually not a bad one..
he treats his vocals as an instrument and rides this track the way 50 rides a track.
(i'm not the only one who hears him rapping in the keys you would be playing on the keyboard to this track).
Most are you are waiting for the return of "In Da Club"..
betta pull out ya GRODT albums..
Dre continues to evolve sonically.. it's no secret his production team changes more than a NBA team..
it's a wave pattern.. you have liked some of them.. others you didn't care for.. u just gotta wait and see wat's next!
-
did anyone even expect this to be better than mediocre?
-
Reminds me of "Just a lil' bit" from "The Massacre".
8) Cool, better than 90% of the wackness on the radio. (Tho the hook is stolen borrowed...)
-

Cool to hear an artists view on the track
I personally like it more and more every time i listen to it, especially after hearing it on my big speakers compared to my shitty laptop ones lol
-
i like your analysis shade even if to me, it seems like its grasping at straws. hopefully i'm being stupid and the genius of the song hits me me but shit don't sound cohesive or nice at all at the moment.
-
This is waaaaaay better than "Get Up" imo. This is the type of beat you can recognize from outside the club. I have no complaints about the beat at all. 50's flow is good, but the lyrics are a little boring (the hook anyway).
-
Just saw the tracklist on nahright

Beat is good, chorus is not that good.. verses..ehhh...
and this is really short track...
-
TIGHT TRACK!!!
-
I truly hope this track is not finished (50 said that on Thisis50.com) because this joint has potential. BIG POTENTIAL IMO.
If Dre will still work on that joint it's going to be classic track.
-
yeah because it makes a whole lot of sense to deliberately put out an unfinished track....
-
this shit si dope ass fuck!! :o 8)
-
yeah because it makes a whole lot of sense to deliberately put out an unfinished track....
that's what i think about this to be honest...
shit is really strange. 50 announced on Thisis50 few days ago that this track will be available on Monday.
On Tuesday he said it's not finished and it must be leak... it looks like they smoke really good stuff out there
-
Not a bad song... especially if it's meant for radio play. Of course, not the greatness you'd expect from Dre or the catchy radio tune you'd expect from 50... but still decent. Certainly not "garbage" like so many are saying and certainly better with a more mature production vibe than most of what's getting radio play now.
-
I was just reading thisis50.com and 50 said that this is not the finished version and that he'll put it out on thisis50.com. Explains the wierd mixing of the piano.
-

im praying they change the piano keys cause that sounds wack. the rest of the beat is hot but that bit needs to be more up-tempo instead of some funeral shit
-

why in the world do they put out a half assed songs nowadays? :eh:
-
It's pretty good. Not a super-hyper-monster hit, but cool.

-
Is that really 50 posting that?
-
The beat is bangin. I'm pissed tho cuz this beat would've been perfect for Game! Instead 50 ruined it with forced singing and a trendy catch phrase.
-

Thats wat makes the song hot!
i get it in!!!!!!
-
beat is kool, but i just cant stand fifty and his singing.
-
Yeah it's 50 and if not it's definetly somebody from G-Unit records, because the same person told numerous times when a track will be out, what name and producer (the same person told that I Get It In, produced by Dr.Dre is coming out monday). Same person always posts the studio version of 50's singles on thisis50.com. Who knows, it might be Yayo's job :D
-
damn this shit is nuts i cant stop playin it...fif is that dude...not feelin it = u never get it in.....
-
i liked it
-
i think the beat is dope. song gets catchy after awhile. wish game was on this track instead of 50 tho!
-
it's pretty avg, I hope Meho is right and this aint the 100% final version
-
Im down, I get it in
-
you shouldn't listen to any dr dre beat with your shitty computer speakers
get ya sound game up
where my bose niccas is at?
-

CERTIFIED BANGER!!!! TRUSSIT
-
decent, wath happend with R Kelley being on it :-\
-
I've listened to this about 10 times on my MP3 player and it isn't bad... it remind me alot of "Just A Lil Bit" It's like the junior version of that.
It has potential. I don't think it will be as big as "In Da Club" "Candy Shop" or "Just A Lil Bit" But the beat isn't really that.. seems to be a cookie cutter format for 50 though. And I actually think 50 isn't that bad on it. He probably could work on the lyrics some.. but really.. This is FAR BETTER than half the crap 50 has put out lately.
-
dope song.
-
I like this song a lot better in CDQ. Im diggin that piano. If 50? said this isnt the final mix, im very interested in what show up.
Beat is cool. 50 is nice, but nothin special.
-
the beat is a bit plain, buts its ok.
-
I've listened to this about 10 times not on my MP3 player and it isn't bad... it remind me alot of "Just A Lil Bit"
You contradict yourself there.
-

Because I'm a retard and put "not on my MP3 player"? or cause of another reason?
-
This song is pretty good, not a lot of replay value though.

No, it's because you said it isn't bad and then you said it reminds you of "Just A Lil Bit".

And if you read on right after that I said "a junior version of it" So in otherwords.. not as good a "Just A Lil Bit" so.. not bad.. cause IMO "Just A Lil Bit" wasn't one of his biggest songs.. it was big but not as big as In Da Club, Candy Shop, Outta Control Remix etc..
-
I ain't gonna dissect the song; I just put it on repeat and it sounds good to me.
50 sounds good over these type of Dre beats too 8)
-
Man the shit's hot, can't front. The dark piano compiments it well. Finally a club song that's not on some happy go lucky pop shit.

why u even respond to this bama lol
-
Dre STAY dropping the most mediocre beats on the planets, dude should just retire
looking forward to that hi-tek track though
-
track is ok
-
The beat is tight man dre still the king
-
The beat is good, but thats it. Dre can do much better. 50 cant rap for shit. jim jones, plies, 50, webbie and lil boosie are all on the same level lyrically. All FIVE are a notch above unk and soulja boy and even hurricane chris, but if you put those 3 on a dre beat niggas will be like this aint half bad. the hook is border line weak. If you like this song more power to you. but i always thought a good song involved a good beat, tight lyrics, good flow, good hook and a good concept. I guess times have changed. I need the instumental.

Youre right, but this is a average to borderline weak song so this one dont count. what average to borderline songs need is for people to keep talking it up into bieng a good song.
-
or real people to come along and take a shit on it only to be labelled haters. this is normally by people who can't put together a strong argument for why the track is good in the first place. btw the track is indeed average/weak.
-

The fuck? Just A Lil Bit was bigger than Outta Control Remix.
EDIT: "In Da Club", "21 Questions", "Candy Shop", "P.I.M.P", "Disco Inferno", "Just A Lil Bit" and "Ayo Technology" were all bigger than "Outta Control (Remix)".
-
true but that was more due to timing than the quality of the track. it's better than all of those other ones, expect maybe 'in da club'.
-
i like this beat, i wanna see crooked on that one killin it!!!!! dre u need to fucks with the real ones!!! like:
Crooked I,G.Malone,Ya Boy,Eastwood,Pr1me,Techniec,Topic,Jay Rock,SAS,Willy Northpole.
-
I like it. Hopefully this isn't the final mix. The piano chords need to be mixed louder. The ringing that's constantly going in the background is hypnotizing.
This song doesn't have a melody really, so it's not hum-able, like it doesn't really get stuck in your head. In other words, it's not gimmicky production, which is nice.
This is like experimental hip hop production to me. I give Dre credit for trying to move hip hop in new directions at least. This beat doesn't immediately smack you upside the head like G-Funk, but it kind of creates a slow burn instead, due to the subtlety like Shade said.
This makes me think that Detox might be Dre's first real attempt at hip hop crossed with mood music.
Hmmm....
-
Dre or not, the beat bangs 8)

Hmmm....
i used to come up with beats all the time (and still to this day) that start off soundin' happy/clubbish/etc then go to 'dark' just like that. it's just an un-exausted form of Hip Hop (older phonk beta production for example)
-
50 new album is going to be the 1
-

See most people are used to that deep and superior sound of the grand piano Dre uses in his tracks (ie. "Outta Control (Remix")..
with this one, it sounds like he recorded the grand piano from the studio orchestra room as it was played live, on a microphone..
the typical production method would be to use a stock synth/string sound from a keyboard module..
but you get a more "live" feeling if you actually record it live.. even the drums sound like live kicks and sides..
Still a fan of it.. This is a technical club record that works. A real contrast from "In Da Club"..
-
I though 50 said this was a demo version that got leaked and Dre was supposed to go in and finish this past monday. What the fuck happened to that?
-
you cant deny this
-
I though 50 said this was a demo version that got leaked and Dre was supposed to go in and finish this past monday. What the fuck happened to that?
It's on thisis50.com
There is a lot of of added elements. I don't give a fuck about what anyone says but this new version is something I'm REALLY feeling.
-
damn, that final is definitely better. you can hear the drums change when he starts spitting. plus you got the strings in the background plus that swinging sound. The piano is even louder.
-
hook it up
-
i don't got it, it's on thisis50.com
-
yeah the mix is up now, every thing sounds tweaked and the piano is louder, big difference, will be playing this lot more now
-
yeah the mix is up now, every thing sounds tweaked and the piano is louder, big difference, will be playing this lot more now
Yup. It has that THUMP, if you know what I mean? This is banging great in my headphones.
-
Holy shit, this sounds amazing compared to the unfinished version.. whoever said that it couldn't be improved !?!??
-
well the drum loop and a new bassline is pretty sick but the piano and orchestra sounds still don't really work with the vibe of the record. it's a very strange production, can't see this catching on with mainstream audiences. they should scrap it and go with a new single. the album is delayed anyway though isn't it?
-
I dont understand why its a big deal to people on this board if its a good mainstream single, maybe 50 and Dre didnt want to do that but just wanted to put together a bangin track, which imo it has turned out to be
-
Wow, I thought 50 was bullshiting when he said this ain't the final version. This sounds completley different, the piano and orchestra effect might not be conventional for a club track but that makes it even more unique imo. Finally a bassline on a Dre beat 8)
-
cant get it downlaoded on thisis50 if sum1 has it plz hook up
-
its not so much about being mainstream its more about being pleasant to listen and move to. this isn't a very enjoyable track for me. an interesting experimental beat but not really something that would get things popping at a party.
'get up' was better on every level 8)
-
clean ass beat shit sounds right in my ride along with crack a bottle but still i expect more from dre....
8)
-
yea can someone up it themselves?
i dont wanna go thru all tha BS of having to sign up.
-
Off Topic but "Crack a Bottle" is a mamoth track, beat, hook, Dre's verse 8)

thanks man. 8)
yea there's a big ass difference.
-
this is the first "aftermath" level sounding dre beat since 06 for me
crack a bottle sounds amateur, this is back to that master sound
-
id have 2 agree sum wat i cee wat your asayin .. i wouldnt say nothin else hasnt been of a qualiy level ..but thi 1 def shows promise for detox ..sounds like dre got some of his magic bak on this final mix
-
wow, just listened to it in my headphones
that bassline completely changes the song for me. its hypnotic.. and that dark synth that kicks in every once in a while is nice too
-
wowwww.....this sounds amazing......dre killllllllllllled it good shit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-

Nah homie I played this new version with some people while having a few drinks and the girls were dancing immediately. This shit is a hit!
Dre made this record so much doper, shits insane. Smoother bassline, strings, piano sounds cleaner, and even a quiet girls voice in the "sunday monday" bit behind 50. Shits dope...
-
Beat is 10 times better.
this is the first "aftermath" level sounding dre beat since 06 for me
i agree.
-
damn..shit is bengs..god damn 8) 8)
-
dope track! dre's beats in 2009 are bangin! much better than 08 beats
-
let's see who could win dre in an arm wrestling match!
http://www.dubcnn.com/connect/index.php?topic=206337.0 (http://www.dubcnn.com/connect/index.php?topic=206337.0)
-
Now thats dope, badd ass track 8) 8) 8)
-
damn another big dispapointment
-
Damn :o Its amazing how much a few touch ups and a mix can change a song. This is a hit. Love the piano.
-
God damn, this is garbage.
-
Bangin' track, 2009 is gonna be the year.
http://limelinx.com/files/a0825e2e963f3bb346875b359627dd7a
-
Wow this shit is horrible! I like the leaked version way more.
-
Damn! I really liked the original but this new version to me is the Dre that I've been missing the last few years.
-
peepin this now :o
uhh maybe i just had the final version before but it sounds like it was remastered...i was expecting a new verse or something lol
-
It's hard 2 decide which version is better. I like the OG slightly more though bcuz of its simplicity and the way the pianos hit. But the updated version has WAAAAY MOORE thump in it!!! 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) *bitch i musta been faded*
-
instead a straight turd this track is a well polished turd. still smells bad to me.
-
see now this sucks
-
instead a straight turd this track is a well polished turd. still smells bad to me.
hahahahhahaha
-
Beat is dope, way better than the original but i just cant stand 50.
-
can someone re-up the old version (nodj)?
-
Better sounds quality and that crazy instrumental, thanks to Jome.

The track is banging but those piano chords make it sound like a murder track and shifts the club vibe to a dark vibe i dont get why dre did that on the beat ? what do you guys think ?

i've said plenty about this joint but i pretty much agree. the production is very unusual but not in a positive way. it doesn't really fit the vibe of the record being a club track. the chords that come in are too dark in tone, the little spiralling synth sounds are a very odd choice and the metallic, airy bass sound that comes in when 50 goes through the days of the week doesn't really fit either.
the rest of the production is pretty banging though - the effects on the drums, bass and climbing scale is all very nice. the best part of the record is when the hook comes in at 2:21 after the climbing notes. that shift brings some nice energy. also the way dre emphasises 'moet' and 'rose' in the vocal track on the final version is a nice touch.
still, would be better and less confusing as a purely instrumental track. i listened to the acapella and :loopaper:

When the best ppl can say about 50's music is nice beat then its a fucking joke
He gave up on hip-hop ages ago but his whole marketing bit for Before I Self Destruct will be about him taking it back to the GRODT style
But thats just bullshit, from the dude who once said, back in 2001/2 about Jay-Z "all that bubblegum shit they doing right now isn't sustainable and its got to stop" and then brought us Candy Shop I aint taking any of his shit
I think this dude is striaght up corrosive to hip-hop as an artform and he just cruising on decent producers these days.

Riiight!!!!
I wasnt downgrading mainstream hip-hop, just what 50 does, to me ( and its just my opinion so dont catch feelings) he doesnt have any credibility
ie, I dont believe a word that comes out of his mouth
And when you lack any credibility it impacts upon ppls ability to listen to enjoy ur music
I dont hate mainstream hiphop at all just this dude left hiphop behind and now hes gonna front like he is hiphop
But I guess I'll go back with all the other "UnNamables" (wtf?) who dont like 50.
