I was wondering if anybody could post up a link or something for the o.g. next episode and doggystyle?
-
u can find em on Kazaa, thats where i got mine a long ass time ago
-
i tried looking for them but i only found the next episode and that sounded shitty so i erased it. But from what u heard are they dope shit? And why were they tooken off of the Album?
-
Dre didn't think they went with the album
-
ohh for real.. i always wondered.. where he say that mickey?
-
It was somewhere around 94/95 was it not when the Helta Skelta album was being talked about.
-
Heard many other reasons but the one I've heard more than once is because Dre was the executive producer selectin what tracks go where to make sure the album had a consistent flow that was straight fire from start to finish. Should have kept Doggystyle though. This was a b-side for a vinyl on one of the singles was it not? I can't remember that far back
-
i dont think so, unless it was a regional thing.. as far as I know i've got the whole set of doggystyle vinyl singles.. i'm only one or two short for the chronic
i'm still pissed off they never put the x-rated perfecto mix of doggy dogg world on a CD anywhere.. :(
-
Really? Damm I can remember a special editiion of doggystyle but I was young at the time, I got the tape instead. What Vinyls u needing for the chronic??
Yeh, much like the celebrity beat downs vol.2
-
umm.. i think there are some variations of the g thang 12" i need, i gotta sort my shit out.
have planned on doing a dubcnn article on chronic singles etc so i can get all the info together, list the tracks/instru's leftover etc... and sort my shit out at the same time, same for doggystyle :)
-
next episode og i would say was recoreded around the time of deep cover.not a leftover from doggystyle. just my opinion...out
-
if i remember correctly it was originally put up on the old foeground site wasnt it?
i think the claim was it was ripped in a studio from some tapes with a mic
-

doggystyle isnt on any of the cds or vinyl singles/promos.
seer, what u meen wit x-rated perfecto mix of doggy dogg world?
-
^ i mean the dirty version is ONLY on the 12"
the cd single, a paul oakenfold remixes compilation (he owns perfecto recs) and that dpgc remix lp all have the clean version on.
-
^ i mean the dirty version is ONLY on the 12"

hm iŽve never noticed that..lol. but the single cd has the perfecto radio mix and the perfecto mix.... both are clean?? anyway i got the 12" aswell + the doggy dogg world PROMO cd. i need to check this disc later. if its not the same iŽll let u know.
-
ohh that sounds odd.. go check.. i spent a while looking a while back.. so i'm pretty sure.. but ya never know if theres another single put out too :)
-
post da mp3 hommies....
-
I have ripped it from vinyl, but my vinyl rips dont come out too good :(
-
When you said they should have kept doggystyle, you acted like you were talking about the doggystyle CD with 'next episode'... I'm pretty sure "next episode" was one of the tracks that was actually recorded for "The Chronic" and was going to be towards the end of the CD but was dropped. "Doggystyle" of course was going to be on "Doggystyle".
-
... I'm pretty sure "next episode" was one of the tracks that was actually recorded for "The Chronic" and was going to be towards the end of the CD but was dropped.
dont think so cuz there re doggystyle 12"s, tapes and cds out there that have next episode on the tracklist/backcover.
the chronic track u talkin bout was bitches aint shit which was pulled. but it was placed on the re-mastered disc now. i think all the chronic cds without a deathrow logo dont have bitches aint shit but the ones WITH dr logo have that track....
-
Hey all you OG board members remember that Big Jake Doggy Dogg (I think he posts as some Jake Coleone name with a bunch of Godfather pics in his sig) said he has a SPECIAL EDITION OF DOGGYSTYLE with NEXT EPISODE ON IT. He says it has red cd art rather than blue & it was
from next door neighbor, he bought it from a swap meet, He bought it at HMV fuck sorry dont know where it was from coz Jake gave so many different answers over the years
Hell it was only a year ago Jake posted here still claiming to have the cd. His excuse for not ripping it back in the day was his PC wasnt good enough & didnt know how. Now that things are so advanced & user-friendly I wonder if Jake would be kind enuff to rip it for us since he used to swear to god up & down that he wasnt lying
So Jake aka wanna be Don, how about coming out of the hiding & proving it to us once & for all
-
lol... yea i remember that too. red artwork... cant rip that cd... oh wee ::)
-
he later said it looked like a cd-r stomper thing
-
^ after that he said he'd give it to the person who had the right car he was lookin for...lol dont know what happened to that tho
-
yea and after that he went to meet daz at the army camp in alaska.... lol. those styories re amazing. 8)
-
I always thought that The Next Episode was meant for Doggystyle, but Dre took it off as he wanted to have Snoop be the star of the LP and not have to use Dre's name on his own release. He was then going to release it on another LP that was a Dr Dre Presents or something (loads of guest emcees spitting over Dre beats).
And back in like 1995 or something i could have sworn everyone was saying that Doggystyle was a Daz produced track recorded after Doggystyle.
-
now that i think of it.....maybe it was daz.....daz sopposedly did aint no fun wit warren g so maybe they both made dis song....espcially seeing how the beat sounds similar to that song on warrens first album........CHUUUUUUCH!!!!! 8)
-
^^Warren G said thats bullshit, he did not produce Ain't No Fun, just a rumour spread by peeps not in the know.
-
I'm still almost positive "The next episode" was a chronic track, does anybody have a cover pic of the tracklisting with "Next Episode" on doggystyle? Dre's production followed a timeline, his production on the Chronic sounds totally different than his production on Doggystyle, and you can listen to his production and tell about when the song was produced.. .there's a direct line from Efil4zaggin to deep cover to Chronic to Doggystyle to Dogg Food. Even Snoop's flow is different from the Chronic to Doggystyle. Maybe it was once considered for release on doggystyle, but it was definately recorded before the Chronic was finished.
-
dre didnt produce a thing on dogg food, just mixed it ;)
but i agree with there being a line.. for example.. the 'next episode' theme was mentioned on efi4zaggin..dres concept..
i have that doggystyle, but not scanned
my hunches are as follows..
hohopper - chronic sessions, notice at the end of rip theres a few seconds of let me ride. no doubt really on this one.
Next episode - from chronic sessions or early doggstyle sessions
gz up, hoez down - early doggystyle sessions
doggystyle - doggstyle sessions (gc says '93 in it..)
-
I'll take your word for it, then. I'll also take your word that dre didn't have anything to do with "Respect" and "Let's play house"...
-
y'all know who leaked those tracks?
-
^ i think they came from the foeground, the original foesum website
-
i'm pretty sure next episode did, dunno about hohopper or doggystyle.
loadsa people got gz up hoez down.. so can come from anywhere..
-
well looky here.. from oct 98...
"THERE'S A NEW SITE ON THA SCENE AN IT LOOKS LIKE IT'S COULD BE ONE OF THE DOPEST AROUND BEFO' LONG. CHECK OUT THE FOEGROUND AZ SOON AZ U CAN. THEY DON'T SEEM TO HAVE BEEN RUNIN' FO' 2 LONG YET BUT THEY ALREADY GOT THEY GAME GOIN' ON. THERE THE FIRST TO BRING ONE OF THE RAREST DEATH ROW TRACKS AROUND, THE NEXT EPISODE. THIS IS A TRACK FROM THOSE CHRONIC DOGGYSTYLE DAYS. IN FACT IT WAS PLANNED TO BE ON THE DOGGYSTYLE ALBUM BUT WAS APPARENTLY CUT OUT AT THE LAST MINUTE. TAKE A LISTEN AN U'LL SEE JUST HOW SIMILAR TO THE DOGGYSTYLE TRACKS THIS REALLY IS. APPARENTLY THE SITE'S CONSTRUCTION WAS HELPED OUT BY THA RUNNER OF SNOOP'S DOGGHOUSE, WHICH IS WHERE THIS NEWZ WAS FIRST PUT DOWN, SO GOOD LOOKING OUT DOGG. THE FOEGROUND ALSO HAS A COUPLE OF OTHER TIGHT UNRELEASED SNOOP AN DRE TRACKS LIKE 'THE HOHOPPER' AND 'HEARD IT THROUGH THE EASTSIDE', AS WELL AS ALBUM REVIEWS AN A LOT OF OTHER TIGHT SHIT. I'VE KNOWN ABOUT THIS TRACK 4 QUITE A WHILE BUT NEVER GOT TO HEAR IT TILL NOW. A SIMILAR THING HAPPENED WITH DRE AND THE CHRONIC WHERE A TRACK CALLED 'MR. OFFICER' WAS CUT OUT JUST BEFORE RELEASE. IF ANYBODY HAS ANY INFORMATION ON THIS SONG PLEASE MAIL ME CUZ I'D LUV TO HEAR THIS TOO! "
mr officer was butchered by michel'le for chronic 2000, but is still unrel
(this is from playa p's old page...)
-
can anybody give me the links or the names to unreleased material from Deathrow or any west coast artist
SNOOP DOGG-DOGGYSTYLE
SNOOP DOGG/DR. DRE-THE NEXT EPISODE
SNOOP DOGG-HEARD IT THROUGH THE E.S
SNOOP DOGG-G'Z UP HO'Z DOWN it was released but it was later tooken off so i'll still include it.
DR.DRE-MR.OFFICER
DR.DRE/SNOOP DOGG-HO HOPPER
-
you wont find mr officer.
you can get all the others on kazaa.
-
dont forget about Rat-Tat-Tat (OG) or maybe a remix ;)
-
speaking of Chronic singles, I got em all on tape (still sealed) :o
-
I think it was ment to be on Doggystyle, just some mishap. If you look at the original "Doggystyle" with "Pimps Up, Hoes Down" - it says "The Next Episode" but its just not on the cd.
The sad part is - I know somebody out there (and I dont mean just this forum) got that song in if not cdq then better quality.
-
hasn't anyone ever asked snoop about these songs and when they were recorded?
if i was gonna interview snoop i might inquire about these songs
-
^ The problem with that is though artists don't think like that. They don't wanna do interviews talking about old shit from 10 years ago, especially since everybody and their brother knows Snoop was better then than he is now. You ask him about old shit too much, especially old unreleased shit, he's gonna think in the back of his mind "motherfucker, that was 10 years ago and it didn't even come out. Ask me about shit I'm doing now". That's how I'd be, at least....
-
The doggystyle song was never released because of the sample.
the next episode beat was also used for rat a tat tat og, and later on warren g's album. who knows, maybe they just were trying to find the right song for the beat. Who knows, there could be many songs by dre and snoop that are unreleased that we just don't know about.
-
the next episode beat was also used for rat a tat tat og, and later on warren g's album.
the next episode og beat and the rat tat tat tat tat og beat arnt the same, there just both used on the warren g cd
-
Snoop was liking the idea of putting out a Lost Tapes CD, but it'd be old stuff from No Limit rather than Death Row (so I'm told)
Mr Officer - Dr Dre featuring Michel'le ~ Heard about this song - never seen it before though!
Yeh there will be someone. Got G'z Up Hoes Down in CD Quality. Aint got OG next episode though. I've got a crappy version of that song! Wasn't able to get my hands on a good version.
The good thing about DeathRow releasing older material is that they re-master they DONT remix, and if they do they only alter the beat for freshness!
-
talkin bout those leftovers: anybody know the song "its on" by snoop feat the lady of rage? i heard thats an doggstyle leftover too. anybody know? i got that track (low quality) on my comp for years now.
-
Snoop was liking the idea of putting out a Lost Tapes CD, but it'd be old stuff from No Limit rather than Death Row (so I'm told)
that'd be from our dubcnn interview with him ;)
http://www.dubcnn.com/interviews/snoopdogg/
"
Rud : There were a few leftovers from your debut album Doggystyle such as "The Original next Episode" & the track "Doggystyle" can we ever expect to hear these released?
Snoop Dogg : Um, i dont own those - Death Row owns those - so, im pretty sure Suge Knight will put them out when my album comes out or something, you know how he work!
Rud : Some tracks were left off The Last Meal such as "Purple" & "No Bacctrackin" do you have any plans to releases something along the lines of a "Lost Tape" collection?
Snoop Dogg : I might put that out, I might put out a "Snoop Dogg - Lost Tapes" out - cause there was a cupla songs that didn't make my album that I thought were real dope - that coulda been great songs for an album, they just didn't make my album - so - yea i like that idea
Rud : A few years ago you premiered the "Street Life" track with Tupac on Westwood's radio show in the UK - are there any plans to release that in the future?
Snoop Dogg : I don't know wassup with that one, cause, you know like I said I don't - me personally - if you know since pac been dead I have not put out none of his music cause that aint how I get down - like other people are using his shit to make money off of him - that's disrespect to me so I wouldn't - I don't think I would do that unless his moms ya know, wanted to put the song out, that's the way I would do it.
"
good lookin out LAZY, forgot about rat-tat-tat-tat OG :)
-
there is also the original deep cover.
-
OG Every Single Day - that's dope 8)
-
^ thats on DPG 2002 isn't it?
OG Deep Cover? ya mean other than the version on the Deep Cover OST? (how many of ya'll even own that?...)
theres the later 187 (a b-side on dre day) and 187um which was on something else
-
Yeah the other version (re-mastered) is on the DPG 2002 that Death Row released in 2001. Yeh the original is tight. Doesn't have more emphasis on the guitar instrumental, instead you can hear the bass line better (unless the quality you have of hte original is shitty - you have to turn up your headphones)
I got that 187um in about 2 or 3 different r&b/hip hop compilations. all the same though
-
^ thats on DPG 2002 isn't it?
OG Deep Cover? ya mean other than the version on the Deep Cover OST? (how many of ya'll even own that?...)

there re 3 versions. deep cover, 187um, and one eight seven. btw it was a let me ride b-side IMO. i also got the instrumental.
-
i said that, and its definitely on the dre day 12" :)
Dre Day - LP Version
Dre Day - Radio Mix
Puffin' On Blunts And Drankin' Tanqueray (Unavailable On LP)
Dre Day - Extended Club Mix
One Eight Seven - Original track from the motion picture Deep Cover
from >> http://www.fortunecity.com/tinpan/easy/67/discosn.htm
found out also on that page.. 187um was on a comp called "one million strong"
-
i don't know which one it is but snoop spits some tight ass shit.
-
Doggumentary was available in Japan for a short while. A few people have this, but it was also sold on websites on cd-r.
The doggystle tape I got just had the recent tracklist (even though I bought it when released) but I have G'z Up Hoez Down in CDQ, I guess it came from the limited editiion of doggysytle.
Seer - You got this Doggystle album?
-
Anyone else got the 12" of the Fatha Figga?
-
(about og doggystyle)
yes. have one copy on cd, and one on vinyl. the vinyl even has the skits named, but doesnt list 'next episode' as the tracks are on the vinyl label, not the sleeve
-
Anyone else got the 12" of the Fatha Figga?
yup.. think its a later bootleg that says pac + snoop tho, lmao
-
thanks for that link. appreciate it.
-
mickey.. about doggumentary
has you ever seen covers for it?
and i've never heard the songs "soldier's story" or "once again"
-
Damm, I've got scans on a disc somewhere. Front & Back. They could be fake but they have the barcode etc. on them so I don't know. I'll have a look in some of my discs over the weekend, try and post that s.. up
-
Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't Soilder Story an unreleased track from Daz?
-
dunno.. its on the doggumentary tracklist on that site i posted above

I've also got a promotional CD of midnight Love & Vapours which has live & instrumental versions as well as clean etc.
Once Again? never heard this song before
-
i cant believe that the doggumentary EP was actually released in japan or somewhere else. never saw a real cover. i remember a fake one tho. but i got a promo vhs tape to the EP: midnite love. seer, so your doggystyle 12" doesnt list next episode on the vinyl label? my copy got that track on the label listed. hm, so many different versions.....
-
yup i dont believe doggumentary came out properly either.
those live versions are on the doggfather single too..
yup you got it.. my doggystyle vinyl doesnt list next episode on the label, but does with gz up hoes down.
i've also heard that some CD copies of doggystyle have gz up hoes down and next episode on the cover, but gz up hoes down is not on the cd.
-
I heard Doggumentary was available from a white label... but NEVER actually pressed up as a Death Row cd. It was available from US swap meets... but w/o DR logo's etc and no cover.
Im positive someone would have it if it were created (kinda like the Nate Dogg album)
-
Im positive someone would have it if it were created (kinda like the Nate Dogg album)
there re also peeps out there who got the death row inside out compilation. 5-6 years later...still not leaked... :-\
-
or so they claim..
-
^ same with the song in the subject of this thread ;D
-
Seriously, I think thats BS...
the ppl claimed they had it just wrote up reviews on amazon.com (coz they left the link on their site for the album). Most of the ppl who claimed they had it said 'Has to be a classic with these artists'.
I reckon the album was never pressed, but was near completion. My homie Nino has heard the Danny Boy song 'Against All Odds', and half the compilation turned into 'Chronic 2000'.
On the same theme, Ive heard someone had a pressed up copy of Michel'les 'Single Black Female' DR album from a fairly reliable source.
-
bullshit or not.... i doubt that theres a doggumentary Ep out there, a inside out comp (tho there is single promo), a red artwork doggystyle (lol), let alone a single black female album.... damn why are peeps claim that they have the inside out tracks or a cdq next episode or stuff like that when they cant prove it?.... they need a fuckin life.
-
Some people claim they have stuff they don't to try and rustle up who really has got the rare stuff.. so they can badger them, or get it from them another way ;)
-
In that case... I got the original DPGC album from 93, all produced by Dre, Daz and G Dub
Im more than willing to trade...
-
I've got the one nation masters ;D
-
LOL hmmm someone I know has been looking for those ;D
-
... got the white cover chronic 2000. anyone interested?
-
is the cd artwork red, blue, yellow or rainbow?
I already got the pink one 8)
-
haha the rainbow one... lol
but seriously i asked about the "its on" track by snoop feat the lady of rage. is this track also a doggystyle leftover? i really wanna know how many tracks re actually pulled from those releases. has suge material to release another classic young snoop dogg album?.... damn
-
The inside out Compilation was never out on CD. Only vinyl but that vinyl was never released to the public either or even radio stations. But I think someone did leak it out of the studios and was able to then promote the thing, make artwork (as I've seen in older sites) and even tracklists. TowerRecords.com had this listed. They only deleted it last year after I had e-mailed them explaining that the title has never, and will never be released.
A guy who helped me post news on my page claimed to have this and the tracks mentioned were the same as the tracklist I had saved.
Doggystle with red art work??? totally false!
-
not red art work, a red snoop on the cd though. he said the artwork was the same.
in reality after a few years of harassment . it seems he bought a bootleg copy that has the copy we all know on it.. but we still aint sure.. lol
-
i don't know which one it is but snoop spits some tight ass shit.
It's all 3 that he spits tight on.
-

Yeah, he's probably just got a bootleg. Half the stuff yall mentioned coming out in Japan and crap sounds like bootlegs.
Do any of yall collect autographs? I've got all kinds of autographed shit. I've got an autographed Ice Cube drum head and shit like that. An autographed by MJ copy of their first LP as the Jackson 5, an autograhped Willie Nelson "Blue Skies" album, etc. etc. etc.
-
only thing i've got is a dre signed copy of 100 miles, got it framed on my wall :)
-
I got a Pac- poster signed by pac

Deep Cover (OG) off Deep Cover OST, One Eight Seven- the chorus says "1-8-7 on a undercover cop" this is the remix and has the remix verses.. on dre day single, 187um- the chorus goes "1-8-7 on a muthaphucckin cop" and has the remix verses, too... on the million man march cd or wutever that cd was that overseer was talkin about
-

-
Speakin of that doggystyle cd, i got 2 cd versions with gz up hoes down on it, one of the 2 cds is the us import and next episode is on tracklist of the backcover. The other CD, the european release, has the complete tracklist including the skits printed on the cd. I also had a Doggystyle vinyl with Next Episode on the cover and on the label of the vinyl., but it didnt appear on the vinyl though.
This perfecto remix thing is kinda strange, SUES, you checked your vinyl already about it?
-
Speaking of odd coloured vinyls n cds, has anyone got any more info on this perhpahs valentines day/christmas edition of murder was the case?

-
I also had a Doggystyle vinyl with Next Episode on the cover
the tracklist is on the backcover?????? never saw that version. only on the label.
-
yeah i've never seen that either..
can u take a pic?
-
next episode og i would say was recoreded around the time of deep cover.not a leftover from doggystyle. just my opinion...out
how u know this?
-
a couple things about OG NE
1. If a mastered CDQ version came out, the song could be better then Nuthin but a G Thang
2. I'd take a mastered CDQ version on this song over Detox
-
next episode og i would say was recoreded around the time of deep cover.not a leftover from doggystyle. just my opinion...out
how u know this?
\
He doesn't. The Next Episode was recorded After The Chronic during the Doggystyle sessions. Its a reference to Nuthin but a G Thang's line from snoop "Tell the next Episode". That's why the OG has a similar laid back beat as Nuthin But a G Thang.Sadly, while Pressings for the Album with the Original Track listing had it on the back it was taken off because the sample they used wasn't able to get clearance. As Such it wasn't on the released version at the time..It was taken out at the last minute, so its not really leftover and was going to be on the album. Just they were forced and it got cut.
As for Gz up Hoez down. This was on the original album, but for the rerelease again a Sample clearance issue forced them to take it off. If I remember correctly they said the artist they sampled didn't want to pay some sorta Studio payment or something
Also because the album's time wasn't a full LP because of The Next Episode being taken off, Dr. Dre had to cut in all those Interlude type intro's in the tracks to make it a full LP time (which is about 45 or 55 minutes I think) at the last minute, or else Interscope was going to cut the deal off with the album. Those Skits, weren't apart of the song and were listed. For the release they just put em in the track if I remember right. lol
DoggyStyle had other cuts also (eventually released off other death row compilations/unauthorized albums.Dead man walking was one of em).
-
NE was on advance promos of the album. FACT! If anyone knows any La DJ's who were big at the time, they have it. Im not 100% on this but I am pretty sure funk flex and one other NY dj has it also. Now everyone can go do homeworl lol
-
what DEAD MAN WALKING songs were doggystyle cuts??
-
what DEAD MAN WALKING songs were doggystyle cuts??
None - there was a few cuts from LBC Crew album and some Doggfather era tracks but none from Doggystyle...
-
what DEAD MAN WALKING songs were doggystyle cuts??
Anything released by snoop by suge was cuts from either Doggystyle, The Doggfather or even Dogg Pound sessions. All with out snoop's blessing, usually why the title was said to be a warning to snoop.Cause snoop had recorded these tracks under his timebased ironclad Contract, Suge owns the rights.
After The DoggFather was released, he refused to cut anymore, because of the death of Tupac, Dre's departure. He stopped recording cause his contract was up and was mainly done with Death Rows dwindling destruction, only few tracks, the Fuck Death Row is said to be the last thing he recorded under contract. That's when he left 4 No-Limit.
