Murs is tight, his rapping style seems to contradict peoples like Snoop Three Six and Game though

yeah.. his new collaborations are definitely going to surprise a lot of his old fans..

three 6 mafia track was just a production, they didnt rap on it.

Murs laid a crazy anthem with Snoop though, featuring Latoiya williams, over a Terrace martin beat. Its a wrap!

but one thing you know about murs is that whatever happens, you know he aint changing. He's the kind of guy that stays the same person throughout. murs will never in a hundred years sell his soul or change his image to something hes not. and i think thats something you can tell just by listening to his music.

That may be true, but I guarantee you that plenty of his current fans are going to take one look at those collaborations and shudder. I'm not saying they're justified in doing so, but I see this as an inevitability. If working with Snoop and company helps take Murs' relatively deep material to a wider audience, I'm all for it. He runs the risk, though, of alienating a few of his listeners. Their loss, I'm guessing.

Anyway, I hope this new deal works out for him. I'm definitely a fan, A-list collaborations or not.

Yeah, that's one thing I fear could happen, but it shouldn't.

I've heard the Droop-E track, Ne-Yo track, Kokane track, Jelly Roll, and maybe 1-2 more. The Droop-E one sounds a bit hyphy, but it actually reminds you of some of those abstract beats that the Living Legends used to rap to. The version I heard didn't have the hook yet, and the beat kept goin for like 3 minutes after the verses were done...but the verses sounded just like everything else he does. The Ne-Yo track had a hook from him sayin somethin like "yo girlfriend's bout to be yo ex-girlfriend...yo ex-girl's bout to be my girlfriend" and I think he had a verse or bridge on it...but the story sounded exactly like somethin we've heard from Murs before, without waterin anything down or tryin to make it commercially appealing, even though the beat was radio ready. The Kokane track was hot, and I can't remember if that's the one Jelly Roll did or not.

Hell yes.

3:16 is a classic. murs is the shit. gonna see him at rock the bells.

he's growin' his hair out to have a more distinctive and marketable/memorable image.

he's not gonna change his rapping style/lyricism, but he is about to market himself like he's never been marketed before. props to a hustler.

damn, i'd kill to hear dude over a dr.dre beat. snoop, kokane, jelly roll and Game? yeah bitches.

im gonna support murs regardless but i dont know what to make of the moves he is making at the moment. Id be happy with another album fully produced by 9th wonder, albums like 3:16 and murrays revenge are good enough artistically and musically to sell they just need the correct promotion. I dont think having snoop, ne yo, 3 6 mafia will guarentee him nay more extra sells but regardless of whether murs is changing or not these guests willl change the sound of the album.

I dont wanna moan too much as i can fault murs for attempting to get his shine because he deserves it.

He's gotta venture out and do some other stuff. You can't be stuck doing the same thing over and over.

if its quality stuff he is doing then why not. If he ventures out then thats cool, but if it affects the quality of the product then thats another thing.
