soooo this is the name of the song dre is shooting this weekend
Who gives a fuck? After "Under Pressure" nobody wants to hear another techno trash Detox record..
-
this better be true. and good.
-
LOL. music video eh??? I guess that means they are definitely going to release this record if they are spending the money on a video.
this goes against dre's policy of shelving everything he records though....

Speak for yourself.
-
the fact that the video will be shot soon doesnt even mean we'll ever see it.
Remember that stat quo video, for his dre produced single ? Never came out.
Octo even told me that Bishop Lamont and Dre did shoot a video for the "i dominate" track. But i dont know if its true. Bishop said they were going to shoot it soon though, like 2 years ago.
Not sure if the track was i dominate, but it was suposed to be a summer banger, with him and dre on a boat...
-
I will infiltrate the video shoot disguised as a "bootylicious ass-shaking honey" but really I will have expensive audio-recording equipment hidden in fake boobs.
Stay tuned.
-
Lol believe it when I see it. Hope it happens but I ain't trippin' off it
& don't be surprised if the Dre doin a dance record shit is true
-
I would rather see, Dre - Kush (ft Snoop and Kobe Kokilla)
-
Here we go again...lol
-
im just happy that he supposedly will have snoop as the feature of the first single, if it is true
-

I co-sign this post.

It seems a little odd that the jump-off single for "Detox" which was supposed to be a project where Dre moved away from the weed themes he was talking about on his other albums would be called "Kush".
-
Just a rumor...
-
Snoop tweeted this
" about to head to the shoot... but need a quicc min for the kushh.. "

The song is banging and definitely going to blow up. Has Snoop been part of every Dre's album's first single? I'm not big fan of Akon, but since Nate is no longer able to do the hooks I think I can handle.

did u hear it?
-
akon sucks hard!!!! bad move!

8)
-
Snoop tweetin goin to the shoot gives it more life
-
Akon can make catchy hooks. It's all music at the end of the day and if the quality is there I don't give a fuck who does it.
Oh and it won't be the dance record Akon talked about. He said he heard it, wasn't apart of it.
-

There's tons of other r'n'b singers that shits on Gaykon and his autotune wackness - they should go with K-Young instead of this faggot..
-
Akon used to drop som hard shit when he first came out... Remember the tight songs with the likes of Styles P, Obie Trice, Young Jeezy etc. As long has he adapt to Dre's style, and not the other way around, I think this could be dope.
-
Y'all forgot Boss' Life?
http://www.youtube.com/v/4RU7gTurpQQ?fs=1&hl=en_US
Dre + Snoop + Akon = hit.
-
^i prefer the nate dogg version.

that's cool and all, but it makes me wonder why you are posting in a lot of Detox/Dre related topics
-
he did good job on that "Boss life" but Nate version is,much, much better 8) 8)
-
Nothing wrong with Akon. Only one better at doing hooks is Kobe.
-
Could be epic track really .Nice to see some dudes back and active in wcc section, like Meho and We Fly High...
-
Why y'all hatin on Akon ? I understand you but seriously it's Dr. Dre the teacher right now, not David Guetta or Lady Gaga >:( it's gonna be dope and you know it ! Maybe better with Kobe (and who knows ?) but for commercial reasons I think Akon is the best choice.
-
Nuttin against Akon, hope that hook gonna be great. Personally I would put Kobe on it or even good ol Butch Cassidy!

it's the motherfucking detox

i don't hate him, but his voice is whiny, hence i rather don't want an akon hook

Hell yeah!! And sure i'll like better Butch Cassidy on the hook. But i guess it has to be a mainstream artist like Akon.

That's a heavy clip you put together!
-
Is this true? Bigger question if it is...who is the joint for? Dre, akon or snoop?
Regardless, akon can drop some killer hooks...locked up being the obvious example but we'll see, he aint dropped shit like that in a minute...but then again....dre aint dropped any mind blowing shit in on the production tip in too long and snoops tryna name his next album dogystyle 2 i heard...so shits like one big fucked up cocktail OR it could be great...because lets be real, nobody does it like snoop and dre, and if they do the first single to detox should it drop, it would not only again show that nobody can really fuk with dre like snoop does, but it'd bring back that excitement that kinda went with under pressure.
Dre album can only be better if certain cats are involved with it...snoop being the obvious one and scott storch on the keys being the other cat (if he aint washed up on ideas from the coke) or someone whos just as good as him on the keys and that wil not be easy to find.
Hopefully IF this is true, it'll be some bangin shit, i'm always on some snoop dre shit, new or old.

3 Pages already? LMAO

If you didn't read the Dre Vibe interview then I understand your confusion:
You’ve had so much fun doing Chronic and 2001. So why would you want to detox? What is there to “detox” from?
You have to see it. It’s not really detoxing. What I’m doing is gonna say “Detox” but it’s gonna have that red circle with that line through it. Hearing it and seeing it are two different things. Once you see it, it’s like “Oh.”
So the idea is not detoxing?
Exactly.
-
Whole Under Pressure joint was about smokin and Dre loving being weedhead. :)

Well, I just remember someone from Dre's camp saying one of his reasons for wanting to do the album was looking back at his career and feeling like his biggest contribution was making it cool for kids to smoke weed.
-
I dont want to hear Akon with Dre and Snoop.... i would of prefered The Deam ,Neyo , Usher.

Ya that's what I thought too until I read that interview. I'm sure the concept could've changed over the near decade the album has been in the works lol.

it is not sad?if Nate would be healthy he would be the Akon...

For sure. I'll wait till I hear the song rather than saying fuck Dre for putting Akon on the first single like some ppl on this forum. I would prefer that it was somebody like Usher though. He's more popular than Akon at the moment and his voice is naturally amazing. We'll have to wait and see what it sounds like though.
-
Doubt it'll drop ... and even when it drops im downloading the album.
-
i'm suprised dre is using akon, the guys buzz is a bit dead at the moment, even putting snoop on it suprises me too, doesn't sound legit
i was picturing em or hov on it to be honest but whatever, as long as we get to hear some shit

You guys are crazy to think Dre ain't got something up his sleeve with this project. And what's wrong with Akon on the hook? He's basically taken Nate Dogg's place since Nate hasn't done hooks, made a dope collab with Snoop Dogg, dope collabs with Game, what's the issue with Akon?
Stop insisting that this record needs to sound like Chronic or 2001 because it's not. Times have changed and Dre's music should change with the time. In 1998 if someone told you that a big highlight guest on Dre's album would be a white boy from Detroit named Eminem, you guys would be going ballistic. Eminem would have never fit on the original Chronic but he sure fit in well on 2001.
Dre's track record shows he knows what he's doing, and I'm gonna run with that. And by the way, by today's hip hop standards, Under Pressure had serious potential. It just didn't sound 90's enough for most of you people (NONE OF THEIR MUSIC IS GOING TO SOUND LIKE 1990'S MUSIC, GET OVER IT).
I think the fact that Snoop is the featured guest on Dre's first single is only a good sign of things to come.

Agree with most of this except Under Pressure sucked by today's standards as well.

since it's not announced as a detox single yet, I still doubt that it will be for it until I hear it from a reliable and official source!
-
Did we ever hear the final under pressure?
-
Not the final, we got a no tag CDQ with no hook thats it
what i want to know is how crooked I got the instrumental for his hip hop freestyle....

Pretty sure this is the song Alex da Kid produced and itll be out before Xmas.... Google his interview with Rap Up

@AlexDaKid AlexDaKid
Shout out to Dre for trusting me & believing in my version.. It means so much!

Not sure anybody too credible has given out the name or features of the song. His tweet about Dre and "Biggest song to me in 10 years" from Eminem would lead me to believe either he wrote it for Dre or he is actually featured.

Can't wait to hear this one.

I still don't think it's fair to judge Under Pressure without hearing a finished or near finished version. All the ppl who know what the real deal is with that song that have spoken on it said that the version that leaked was a very early draft and it was incomplete and the more finalized version was a lot different. If that song was released in proper form it would be a club banger without a doubt. I think the people that say otherwise are a little out of touch with today's music.

lmao, if the "real song" is that different then now you are just speculating that a song you haven't heard is a club banger. What the fuck are you basing this on? The version that we all heard sucks, end of story. You havent heard another version of the song, if it even exists, so calling a song you haven't heard a banger is ludicrous.

I think the fact that Snoop is the featured guest on Dre's first single is only a good sign of things to come.
yeah but getting Akon is some serious bandwagon hopping, which Dre isn't really known for with his solo albums.
Not the final, we got a no tag CDQ with no hook thats it
what i want to know is how crooked I got the instrumental for his hip hop freestyle....
he doesn't have the instrumental.

Interesting ..I wonder why so late in the Holiday season ? Can't get it in stores in time to take advantage of the shopping season....

I'll be happy if it's either Under Pressure or Kush to be honest.
Under Pressure caught a lot of criticism unnecessarily considering that it wasn't finished. I thought after a fair few listens that the beat is actually really good - if you listen closley there is a lot of dope subtle elements and intricacies throughout the song. And it most certainly would have been a club hit.
I hope that it ends up on Detox myself.
