Some tracks are in bad quality, but you can get the picture how this album is.
-
I thought it would get released as a 3D dvd/hdvd/blu-ray/beyonddoublevynil, cool to see something tho.
I still like things that glow in the dark.
-
quality is really bad, I'll wait few days (hours) for retail rip
-
I want to listen to it... but I want a proper version before. :-X
-
Songs I'm feeling:
Amazing, Heartless, Love Lockdown, Welcome to the Heartbreak (bad quality, but what I can hear is really great)
Production is good as always. But on some songs I JUST CAN'T stand this fake singing (Auto-tune) shit.
-
any news on the good quality?
-
I want to listen to it... but I want a proper version before. :-X
-
if you can't wait just download the t-pain album instead.
-
somebody update this thread please, when the proper (good quality) album is out. thanks. ;)

i hope no one is planning on buying this....kanye needs to learn a lesson

hopefully, once he realizes that only Wayne can pull auto-tune off & sell 2 millie, he'll be crawlin back to the rap game...watch.

Kanye is not naturally gifted with a singing voice, so he tries to cover it up with auto-tune to sound appealing to bitches & such, but hes about to flop...

why would he go against 50 and icky, icky rap music? that shit is too easy for Kanye, cmon now man. ::)

Yeah it happened to Snoop, experimenting a little bit too much. Kanye is too talented to settle for making music like that. But he is ego tripping all the time so he don't care.
-
This album is garbage with a capital G. Only songs worth playing a second time are Amazing feat Jeezy and Paranoid aka Anyway. And they're not even that good, barely worthy of being leftovers from Late Registration

You know what's fucked up?
I'm about to go and I won't be back till Tuesday. By that time this Kanye album will probably be out for three days already and I miss out on all the excitement! lol
-
oh no, I can also just not read the discussions about this album
-
What excitement? Dunno why you're all so impatient for this, all leaked tracks & previews predicts this is gonna be sing-a-song wackness on autotune.
What you SHOULD anticipate, is the new Luda album, everything points to that being far superior to this.
-

Luda's album will be the shit. I CAN'T WAIT for the Premo track!
-

will be better than Kanye, but I am calling it - Luda is going to be half good/half ass..seems like he did half real hiphop shit and half commercial shit (the 2 mainstream singles suck/the plies song will suck/etc)

Ok, I don't expect much of it, but it's still a Kanye album!! "Love Lockdown" and especially "Robocop" have grown on me a lot. It's probably going to suck ass, but I'm still excited to check it out.
-
LOL at all those hiphop fans being eager to listen to this shit ... people discussing it and buying it... WTF

sure as hell ain't buyin it (unless it blows me away - won't happen) but i'm curious to hear it for it's "uniqueness" at the very least..

yes but mostly of his street shit..i'm pretty sure a plies featured track called "nasty girl" prod. by swizzy is going to suck balls.
-

buy it? fuck outta here. i just wanna listen to it.
i am anticipating the Luda album, that shit should be good. 8)
-
Luda's album will be like T.I.s, half and half.. Which is okay, just not good....
-
I thought that MVP track has leaked
I'm not anticipating this album, songs I heard are enough for me, but I'll give it at least one listen (I'm talking about Kanye now)
-
if you can't wait just download the t-pain album instead.
yeah download t-pain instead.... haha

-
^i dont think so.
-

-
I gave a listen to the leaked tracks and so far this is a boring album
except for the song "Paranoid" which is really really good
-
i cannot believe that this shit isnt out yet...
-
^i'm startin' to think nobody really got they hands on this and the label leaked the webrip to start shit like this..labels been known to leak clean/poor quality albums days before the release and oddly enough days before the real deal (cdq/retail/etc) leaks..
-

Well if it is dominated with that autotune bullshit I ain't copping it. He absolutely sounded like shit on Swagger Like Us.

They wouldn't openly admit it, but they would rather have songs circulating in bad quality than in top notch quality.
Big releases usually get leaked on Thursdays, so I'ma put my e-money for the grouprip on Thursday.
-
This release won't even be worth a blank disc being used to burn it with.Luda's album will be hit and miss. I'm worried about E-40's being shit , too. I'll burn the Luda and E-40 releases, but I think all three of these albums will be forgettable. 40 Water's will have atleast a few dope cuts ( thanks to Rick Rock ).
-
I'm sure all the people talking down on this album hated on "The Love Below" as well (which is what "808's And Heartbreak" reminds me of). I love this album (though, I haven't heard the two songs that haven't leaked). When a hip-hop artist releases an album like this (a la Andre 3000), most "hardcore hip-hop fans" despise their art. Hip-hop to me has no boundaries (which is why I love it so much), and too often the music stays in a repetitive loop. Artists like Kanye, Andre 3000, Cee-Lo...have such a great vision to expand the music and take it to levels where it's never been before (not only in hip-hop, but music in general/which is something I can never hate on). "808's and Heartbreak" is simply great music to me.
-
^using auto tune and singing on a whole album is far from having a vision or expanding the music; it's a cheap way out of selling records because kanye saw auto tune/singing (1 or both) work for T-Pain, Wayne & T.I..decides to make a fuckin full album of it ::)
plz don't ever compare Kanye to 3Stacks

I feel what you are saying. But for me, certain artists I DO NOT want to hear singing and Kanye is one of them. For me he has just fallen in love with this autotune craze that is starting to fuck up the quality of the music. When Andre and Cee-Lo did it, it was not forced. With Kanye it seems like it is and there is a hidden agenda behind it (SALES, COUGH!)
-
Alright, the whole idea behind the "808's And Heartbreak" album has to do with the vocoder and 808 drums. The vocoder is the heartbreak (sadness in the lyrics) and the album's backdrop is the 808 drums. Only once during the album he strays from the vocoder (on the upbeat "Paronoid"). Like I've said, there's a couple tracks I haven't heard, so I can't make a fair review of this, yet. However, from what I've heard, I haven't listened to an album in a long time with the almost flawless production as 808's.
I compared this to "The Love Below" because it has the same theme and vibe (though I like "The Love Below" better, so far). 808's is an exceptional album, though. There's a lot of substance to Kanye's lyrics, as well (his songwriting has definitely improved on this album/poetically).

that's how i see it; it was cool when 3stacks did it and cee-lo because there was no hidden agenda which i see as easy sales as well.

I just find it ironic and very unoriginal on Kanye's part to do a vocoder/autotune heavy album with the Waynes T-Pain's, Snoops and 50's of the world had have tried it and had success with it. And hip hop now is about copying trends and doing it still people are sick in the stomach of it. If his intentions are good that is one thing, but this is Kanye here. He has a Napolean complex.

So, when everyone was doing G-Funk in the 90's, it was very unoriginal and wack as well?

I just find it ironic and very unoriginal on Kanye's part to do a vocoder/autotune heavy album with the Waynes T-Pain's, Snoops and 50's of the world had have tried it and had success with it. And hip hop now is about copying trends and doing it still people are sick in the stomach of it. If his intentions are good that is one thing, but this is Kanye here. He has a Napolean complex.
I agree..it's unoriginal..very..
So, when everyone was doing G-Funk in the 90's, it was very unoriginal and wack as well?
not wack because the music itself was good
g-funk = good
autotune = not good
lol, simple as that..it wasn't original for everyone to jump onto gfunk, but at least it's good..u talkin' to the wrong 1..i ain't 1 of the west coast heads stuck up on the 90s and all that shit actin like everything now in days sucks..i fucks with all coasts..difference is kanye jumped on something that sucks lol
-
But, you have to take his music on this album into account. Regardless if you like autotune or not, the beats are amazing. Yeah, I'm not a big fan of the autotune either (never liked T-Pain's music), but it works very nice on this album, IMO.
-
Alright, the whole idea behind the "808's And Heartbreak" album has to do with the vocoder and 808 drums.
Ok that's a cool concept. I will listen to it and see what it do, but I don't know if I am going to like it. Just being honest.

wack yes for certain artists. Unoriginal yes when it is over used. EVERYONE and they momma is doing autotune right now just because Lollipop did well and other tracks. Just because it sounds good for one artists does not mean it's good for everyone. G-Funk included.

^unrelated, but im so glad T.I. didn't do autotune at all for his cd

"808's and Heartbreak" is simply great music to me.
are you serious? lol you can not compare this shit to Andre 3000? Talkin about using atotune "art" LMAO.

you cant compare g-funk to autotune, autotune could be compared to talkbox if anything, not a sub-genre.

autotune aint shit compared to talkbox

-
Nah I think that H3X is the real deal, they also got scans to prove it
weak ass record tho
-
WTF why did he change welcome to heartbreak!!!?? the original was ridiculously sick :'(
-
Wow this is incrediby wack. I really don't see how this is any different from T-Pain's album, other than better production.
-
Are there any real hip-hop songs? Cuz I don't really wanna download it...
-
Lol at this album , this is worst than any album fifty released ... but still Kanye will get a pass here as a lot members are in love with him ... his third effort which was very average was described as great , this one will be "aight" ::)
-
h3x is a legit group, I don't know where you heard they ain't.....
-
the h3x rip is legit...
somehow I have a feeling this album is gnna outsell anything ye has ever done
-
finna hear this now..
-
gave it one quick spin. even though it wasnt all that good, it was better than i expected lol.
Welcome To Heartbreak
Heartless
Amazin'
Tell Everybody That You Know (i love the vibe to this song, even if Wayne sucks on it.)
Coldest Winter
Paranoid
six good songs, a few average ones & some "what the fuck were you thinkin Kanye" songs.
stick to rappin Kanye!

streetlights is the bes song on the album
-
^WORD, how did i miss that? so thats 7 good songs, but he should give this up...fast.
-
^^ 7 good of 12 ??
You wildin' mayne! That would make it just above an average album.
This shit is plain garbage, 1 or 2 tolerable tracks. :grumpy:
-
'bout to hear this very soon..very interested and curious..
-

i can vibe to some songs. even if there not good by most peoples standards, i can enjoy them, so i concider those good.
its a like or hate style (you cant love it lol). i happen to like it. apperently you hate it lol. ;)
-
Listening right now and I'm feeling the trax I'm hearing so far!
-
2/5
i like some songs (street lights, welcome to heartbreak, coldest winter, paranoid, amazin)
i dont love any, and i hate the rest.
-
6 tracks thru..intro was good, extremely 'intro appropriate' which is all u can ask for on the opener..tracks 2&3 were decent, good enough..amazing (minus jeezy part) was straight ass..love lockdown is cool..paranoid is ass, as is robocop..
-
Decent album. I'm super duper hella pissed off though that he changed 'Welcome to Heartbreak'. I wanted that track in CDQ, but whatever.
-
after 1 listen, not the disaster i feared it to be (but i feared a complete disaster lol)..definitely a few disaster tracks..maybe a 5.5/10 or somethin..pretty bad..coldest winter is the best joint..really the only song i really liked..the other songs which weren't a disaster were like 3.75/5
-
Damn, you can't start an album with a song like "Say you will", I've fall asleep after 3 minutes. :-\
-
vocals could have been mixed better. the am radio effect kills most of the album i think. if it was just regular sharp autotune like t-pain it would have been much MUCH better.
-
THIS ALBUM IS TRASH, seriously no good songs.
-
Album is Eh, a few cool songs but half of it sucks.
That intro is dragged out waaaay to long, the beat goes nowhere with that instrumental at the end.
-
So the H3X is a good rip?
-
I expected this to be bad, but not as bad as it turned it out to be. This is awful... maybe the worst album I have ever heard in my life.
-
Its not that bad....But not that good either :-\
-
why do some of the vocals on some songs sound muffled....like kanye is rapping with a pillow smothering his face.....example : love lockdown, bad news, but on some other songs it sounds the vocals sound clean n crisp like "see you in my knightmares"
-
wow, what was this ???
-
Kanye >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Andre 3000
Kanye> Andre (When he was nice)
Cocaine's a hell of a drug...
Album's pretty weak, only feeling three tracks...
-
damn this album is weak
-
fuck this is pretty bad..coldest winner is good..2-3 more avg cuts..rest is TRASH.
-
fuck this is pretty bad..coldest winner is good..2-3 more avg cuts..rest is TRASH.
Coldest Winter is good but what about "Paranoid" you dont like that cut? thats my fav hands down from the record

nah, really disliked paranoid actually lol..gonna give it another spin, will see..

lol aight I think I like this one better than the rest cuz he actually rap on it
-
WTF why did he change welcome to heartbreak!!!?? the original was ridiculously sick :'(
I don't see any difference between the one I had before and the retail version. Post yours!!

after listenin to this ive lost respect for Kanye :grumpy:
i would imagine most of his fans have.
50 had an interview & Hot 97 played some of it.
he was like Kanye basically put out T-Pain's out, in his own words....problem is, I & im sure many others prefer listenin to the Pain album. LOL, 50 is always good for a laugh.
-
Classic in my book. Though, I'm disappointed that 'Ye switched it up on the final version of "Welcome To Heartbreak" (still a real nice song). Loved the changes to "Robocop", too.

what you on..that must be some good shit ???
-
Anyone have a link for the original "Welcome To Heartbreak"?
-
^well i doubt he means a rap classic, or a R&B.
i dont know what kind of genre of music this is, nor do i listen to something like this...so i have nothing to compare it to, to deny his statement.
-
Classic music, IMO (not in any category). I don't really care if I'm the only one in the world who likes this :P Here's the 1st version of "Welcome To Hearbreak"- http://www.zshare.net/audio/51623044ae1ec7cd/

^ Good lookin' that's one of the only songs I like from the album...
-
^thats cool homie. ;)
-
If this was anyone other than Kanye West (or if this was the first album Kanye did), do y'all think this album would get the same amount of hate? I love every Kanye West album, but I like especially like how he goes against the grain on this one (it's fresh, like when Outkast/Andre threw a curve ball w/ "The Love Below"/another classic to me).
-
^without a doubt, hes a sellout in my mind for what he's done.
but i didn't take that away from him, when it came down to this album.
i wouldn't mind another album like this, down the road sometime.
but he needs to go back to the rap game...FAST!
-

but imo, just cause its fresh and against the grain doesn't always equal quality..i find ppl are 2 quick 2 jump on anything "fresh" or "creative" (which this isnt) even if it sucks..The difference between this and the Kast 1 is that the Kast 1 was dope..

Before putting this album to the garbage, be sure to hear Wayne on "See you in my knightmares" at 2:52 and 2:54.
-
One of the worst albums I ever listened too ::)
-
I had to take a shower to wash off the gayness after listening

real talk
-
Aint wanna waste my time is it any good ???
-
^using auto tune and singing on a whole album is far from having a vision or expanding the music; it's a cheap way out of selling records because kanye saw auto tune/singing (1 or both) work for T-Pain, Wayne & T.I..decides to make a fuckin full album of it ::)
plz don't ever compare Kanye to 3Stacks
Very good...there's hope for you yet 8)
-
Aint wanna waste my time is it any good ???
No.
-
I have zero interest in listening to this album. It's amazing how much worse each Kanye album gets. How do you go from College Dropout to an album of autotune and fucking wack features? Kanye is talented as fuck but goddamn the directions he's going with his albums is retarded. I hated his last album, couldn't even make it through the whole thing.
-
I know I'm bumping this thread from page 2, but I had to let my peoples know. This album is truly on some fresh different shit. But like most of you said, that don't really mean a good thing. I guess thats Kanye being Kanye again. I definately give him props for doing his own/different thing, but it ain't really my thing.
Oh yeah, the track with Wayne is slammin......
....Cuz Kayne has captured the sound that Wayne strives for now and days. Kayne should produce Wayne's next album with this same sound. Then Wayne may sell a milli 20 minutes after the album is releases (since that's what the young dudes like).
-
I gave this another chance, since I thought that I was just hating on it before I even listened to it because of the auto-tune and all the bullshit he said. With that being said I found myself keeping only 5 tracks: Welcome To Heartbreak, Amazing, Heartless, Love Lockdown and Coldest Winter. The rest is trash.
Kanye remains an amazing producer, that Welcome To Heartbreak beat gives me chills.
-
I had to take a shower to wash off the gayness after listening
lol

Yeah dat.. you heard the Love Lockdown remix with R.Kelly.. ?? Kellz killed it.
-
WOW! This album was garbage... :-X
And I liked Kanye's other releases but danm!! I felt sorry for dude listening to this album.
(It's a joke)
It suck's. IMO.
-

The original is haunting..
-
I had to take a shower to wash off the gayness after listening
LMAO
-
the only tracks I'm really fuckin' with are "Welcome To Heartbreak", "Heartless", and "Love Lockdown"... "Amazing" was ok but could have been better, the rest really ain't me
-
Pretty disappointed with this album. I give him credit for wanting to try something different but the auto-tune on the whole album is not for him. "Heartless" was the only song worth listening to. Trey Songz' verion of "Love Lockdown" > Kanye's version.
http://www.youtube.com/v/gDOR2P_JknA&hl
-
i just listened to it today for the first time after refusin to listen to it and IMO its kinda wack only tracks that are aight is "Amazing" and "Love Lockdown"
-

The original is haunting..
hook it up then :) haven't heard it yet...
-
i hate to go against you guys, but i really enjoyed this album. it's nothing like the kanye we're used to, but i think it's really catchy and well produced.
i have this album in my rotation, go figure.

02 - Welcome to Heartbreak (feat. Kid Cudi)
03 - Heartless
04 - Amazing (feat. Young Jeezy)
05 - Love Lockdown
06 - Paranoid (feat. Mr. Hudson)
07 - RoboCop
08 - Street Lights
09 - Bad News
10 - See You In My Nightmares (feat. Lil Wayne)
11 - Coldest Winter
12 - Pinocchio Story
Much better.
Unfortunately, like the rest of his albums, I see myself getting tired of this quickly.
-
^ :o
Streetlights is one of the best songs off that album!
i agree with Say You Will & Bad News; they were pretty terrible.
-
this album is horrible imo ... I have no interest in listening autotune ... and please don't bring that " it's an innovative and fresh album" argument because this is nothing but a sell out move ... at least now the music is definetely on line with the character : a joke
-
to each his own. I'm sure coming from a hip hop purist frame of mind, this isn't appealing at all.
-
^^^^ this is not even a question of this being hip-hop or not ... I listen to different kind of music aswell ... this autotune thing is just wack whether it is rap, rnb , pop .... the mainstream rap music has been so predictable and has just followed so blindly stupid trends for 8 years + ... 1st it was these crossovers songs with RNB artists, then the club bangers , then these stupid D4L , Ying Yang Twins/ crunk meaningless type of songs and now autotune ... of course the artists are not the only to blame (read labels , radios and others type of medias..) but in this case I HIGHLY doubt that a successful artist like Kanye was forced to make an autotune album
-
