Hey everyone. I just wanted to come back and let you know that i put one of our studio dudes with nothing to do on a mission to covert the m4a files i provided links to in earlier threads ("D.O.C" and "Overseer peep this" threads) over to mp3's. My little helper got it done and i am reupping the 5 tracks (and an extra one) to yousendit.com for your enjoyment since i don't think a lot of your computers can play m4a files. So without further ado (and a promise to overseer that i won't be putting audio on any more threads in this section) here are 6 Dr Dre ruthless era remixes he did for D.O.C. and A.T.L. in mp3 format. Nima already volunteered to make sure these files stay available to everyone even when the yousendit time period elapses. Here y'all go. Thanks for your continued support and your continued patience waiting on these mp3's and especially The Detox album. It will be worth the wait.

man I thought these were some unreleased shit!
All these mixes were on the cd singles and 12" vinyl singles. I know because I have the originals. If you really are down with Dre like you say you are at least put up something that no one ever heard before. I mean I still have the original cassette version of "The Chronic" with Deep Cover on it and the different lyircs and beats on it. I have the version without "Bitches Aint Shit" but only on cassette. you put this up in cd quality or something close to it then I will believe that you got the juice, otherwise these tracks dont impress me at all. i know crazy poeple that have these here in L.A. from the roadium days. im not trying to diss but mellow be coming real suspect sometimes.

Props some of these are really hard to find ! :)

he aint tryna prove shit u dont have to believe it.
He just wanted to share the tracks.
Stop being a sherlock

if he´s really working with Dre you think he would post up unreleased shit? i´m 100% sure that he would be fired if he actually posted up some unreleased shit that Dre could sell to a label for a whole lot of money.

hey everyone. I hope you are enjoying the remixes. I know I disappointed a few people and for that i apologize. Of the 6 tracks I'm not really sure what was or wasn't officially released. all of the songs had a video (a few used the remix versions)so i guess that makes them official releases. The only ones we weren't sure had ever been heard were The Formula FM mix and the Portrait house remix. Dre is still in the process of coverting all of his old "vault" recordings into cd and digital files. These 6 tracks are not vinyl rips, they were converted many years ago from Dre's old recording tapes. I apologize to Carl Weathers for not bringing you any unreleased exclusives. Believe me i wish I could. I don't have any problem with Apollo Creed questioning my authenticity, nor do i harbour any ill feelings toward him. I respect him for being a big fan and having a mind of his own. I would probably be leary of me too if I was one of you guys. I don't have any problem with anyone on this board doubting me. My question for Action Jackson would be that if you did actually have all six of these tracks why didn't you share them with everyone on this board? Because my sole purpose of posting these songs with everyone yesterday was to share them. I got the okay to do so because all six of these were previously released singles so they aren't really unreleased and so therefore I am not breaking my rules of sharing things i shouldn't. Although some of you had these already, a lot of you did not. I especially wanted to share the formula remix because i know most of you, if not all of you, had ever heard it before. I actually wasn't planning on putting these up yesterday. i was gonna drop a little Big Bang and Detox update for y'all. But when i saw overseers victory regarding the What Cha Can Prove track, I remembered that I had promised to post these tracks a long time ago and had never come through for you. So I finally did what I promised a lot of you by sharing these tracks. I gotta go get some work done but I'll be back to explain for the final time why I won't post any unreleased Dre tracks, and to give y'all a little update on some things. Until then, peace.

^^sounds good 8)
I got a lil question for you... Could you help us complete this list of Dr. Dre productions? You probably know a LOT more than anyone else on here, so if you could just help out a little bit... I'd appreciate it.

I have 2 more rare Dre Ruthless remixes. I have no idea if anyone already has these. For the people who don't I hope you enjoy them.
The first one is Dre's We Want Eazy remix, with some help from Stan The Guitar Man Jones
here is the link - https://s50.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=19Y25COETACQ23FGQH26PAQHU3
I also have the Still Talkin remix somewhere. I"ll try to find it when I have a chance.

-
Major props ! Thanks alot for the hook-up, mellowman :)
Is there anything you can tell us about some upcoming Aftermath releases like 'The Big Bang', 'Statlanta', Eve's album, Eminem's next LP, Game's next LP and/or DETOX ?
Much appreciated

-
Damn, I haven't heard the Formula in years, this brings back memories.
Thanks for the post mellowman.

Back once again. I haven't looked for that Still Talkin remix but if you want it I'll try and get it. Real quick for one final time i want to explain why i don't post any unreleased tracks. the simple reason is that Dre wants them to remain unreleased, so i am going to do everything in my power to keep them unreleased. I haven't heard too much from the Ruthless days. I know there are some leftovers from the EFIL4ZAGGIN/100 miles recording sessions and some unreleased Eazy tracks from the scratched Temporary Insanity release. But past that most of the other stuff is closing in on 20 years old and the audio tapes aren't very good quality because they were never really mixed and good versions were never totally completed. So there is no way in hell anybody should ever hear those unmixed tracks. Dre would never want anyone to profit or capitalize on Eazy's death so old Eazy vocals will never be heard. Besides Dre doesn't legally own these masters, they are property of Ruthless. The 8 tracks I posted were official singles and have been out in the public so there is no harm in sharing them. Now if we were to post unreleased Ruthless tracks and it tracked backed to dre any way there could be problems.
The death row recordings are untouchable unless Dre and Suge reconcile. and y'all know that ain't happening anytime soon. Unreleased/leftovers from Dre's Death Row period that Dre has copyright rights or earned production points legally cannot be released by Suge cause Dre owns the rights to his own masters. Obviously if Suge could have legally put out leftover Dre tracks he would've put out them all to make as much money off Dre as possible. Thankfully he can't. And if I or anyone else were to post one of Dre's death row leftovers from one of his computer files that would be the ultimate betrayal because of all the possible legal ramifications.
The original versions of the Chronic had a couple tracks that never made it to the intitial printing. The one I know for sure (and have luckily had the honor to hear) was called "Mr. Officer". Some of the first promotional copies of The Chronic had this track on it. The track is very violent and musically brillant, and is Dre's solo version of "Fuck The Police". But because of the fallout from Cop Killer and the riots(Mr. Officer was probably even slightly more graphic than Cop Killer) Interscope pulled the track from the initial printing. (fyi - it does not sound anything like the geto boys song Crooked Officer, although lyrically parts of the chorus are the same) Although we can't share it with you there is a way for someone to track it down. Mr. Officer was used on a documentary of the L.A. Riots called Birth of A Nation. So if that movie is out there somewhere (which it may or may not be) then you might be able to find one of Dre's craziest unreleased tracks. And as far as Aftermath leftovers I'm not gonna put out anything they don't want out, because they are my employers. I will never allow the trust I have earned over the years be destroyed trying to appese a few people. If you can't understand where i am coming from I'm sorry. If that makes people doubt me or question my authenticity then so be it. I truly don't care. I don't visit this board to stroke my ego or tell people I'm better than them (cause I'm most definetly not) just because of my professional situation and perks. I try to remain humble and share some knowledge with everyone. Use it as you wish.
I truly truly wish I could let you hear all of this stuff, but it just can't happen unless Dre decides to put it out there. This will be the LAST time I discuss Dre's legendary vault. I don't ever want anyone to think I'm rubbing my access to it in their face. I apologize if i ever came across that way.
-
Props mellow. Thanks for coming through with these hot tracks.
Portrait of a Masterpiece cuts off halfway though.
Oh yeah, and mellow, do you know anything about a song called Malibu Dre? I heard it a long ago. Apparently it was supposed to be on 2001, but I guess it wasn't good enough. Anyways, I used to have the song when it was posted on Dre's site, but my computer crashed and I can't find it anywhere. Would you be able to post it or is that not cleared?
-
Thanks again for posting Mellow. While you're here though, can you confirm who produced Joe Beast's "Gangsta" and Shaunta's "California"?
-
no please talk bout them its like the promised land we wanna hear bout it lol!
-
Man thanks! The "What you Can Prove (Untouchable Remix)" is the song I heard once in the Slauson Swapmeet way back in the Ruthless days and has been on my hit list since. Thanks a mil....Props.
-
Props on posting, its always interesting to see what you have got to say.
-
I'l have to check one of my other macs to see if i can track down the Still Talkin remix. As for the Legend Of Dr dre vol. 1 there is not such a thing. I got the remixes from a cd that was copied in the studio and given to me by a certain producer. that cd was made from converted recording tapes. so when I imported them to one of my computers i probably had to name the files. I have so much music I try to seperate them somehow. Music is obviously my life (maybe i need to stretch out a little more to non music hobbies and jobs) and I have so much of it it takes a few macs and 4 i pods to hold all of them. So who knows why i named it The legend of dr. dre.
as for updating you with info on big bang and detox I will post it soon. I just have to find a topic to hide my comments in. After the incidents a few months ago where my comments where jacked and put out all over the damn place (and even worse attributed to mel-man. a guy i have a lot of love and respect for) I have to bury my aftermath related comments inside other topics, because if they get jacked again i will definetly have to quit posting here. Its nobody's fault except mine since i made the decision to post here. It's just the nature of the beast. If I have a few minutes I might check in after I get home, cause i won't be able to post much in the coming months. I'll be too busy. Peace.
-
Yeah it's reall bad that people were jacking what you were saying here and posting it up like it was there own exclusive shit.
But what do you expect it's the internet people just do what they want and it can't really be controlled.
-
I wasn't here when you were posting back in the day mellow, but I read some of the stuff you posted 2-3 years ago. I understand why people got bent out of shape, especially with the whole thing about if Suge ever confronted Dre. I am a little surprise you posted it, but I wasn't surprised that Dre said it in the least.
So does Dre have any intentions on trying to bring back some west coast flavor to the industry? I see Snoop is out trying to get everyone back together, trying to reconcile with Suge, and a lot of people are dropping their beefs as well, but Dre hasn't said anything about doing anything fully west coast related yet. As much as I don't like Game, his album helped spark a little more recognition for the west, so I'm just wondering if Dre is going to get with with Snoop doing his thing at all. Or if he has talked about the West Coast Conference to any extent. Sorry about the third degree on the questions. I just never knew anyone close enough to Dre to actually drop some facts.
-
good shit homie

Thanks Mellow for the info and the tracks. 8)

If your not Mel-Man, then who are you? How come you seem to have access to Dre's secret vault of unreleased songs???
I don't think that some engineer working for Interscope would have access to that. Again if your not Mel-Man, why were you speaking on the whole 50 & Game situation. You made a lot of personal comments in your posts related to that topic. You were upset that 50 didn't handle his problems with the family, like a man. You act and speak like you are a part of this family.
Are you really the Mel-Man and just trying to seal your identity?
If you aren't Mel-Man from Aftermath, then how is it that all those other websites linked your comments to Mel-Man? How did that happen? Is it a coincidience that your screen name is MEL..O..Man...is..back....???
I just think that you should be real with all of us here and tell us who you really are. The inside knowledge you have is too much for that of just some engineer...... KEEP IT REAL..

props Mellow.... all these beats are classic, with that sound that got me into rap back in the day. A quick question didn't Dr. Dre also do a remix for the Rolling Stone's "Miss you"? I have a song that says was remixed by Dr. Dre, and it has some of the classic Dr. Dre sounds. Maybe someone else on this board has heard it also. Anyways, props and continue producing and helping Dr. Dre produce future classics.

Thanks heaps Mellowmanisback.. this is some mighty old school nostalgia.

He has explained it before... He used to post here as Mellowman and now that he forgot his login info he created a new account as "Mellowmanisback". The fact that it makes people think of Melman is just coincidence. He wants his identity to remain unknown - so be it. He is one of Dre's musicians, that's why he's so close to Dre and that's why he has access to things we can't access. Just show some respect, really... Mellowman is just here to give us some insider information, so be grateful instead...
If I have a few minutes I might check in after I get home, cause i won't be able to post much in the coming months. I'll be too busy. Peace.
Detox? Word on the street is Dre is about to start recording it... Is that true? Is that why you won't have much time soon?

once again props Mellow

propz for the sick remixes

Propz Mellow. Some cats need to stop talking shit. How can they dissin him when he gives u some interesting infos or audios ???
-
I was just listening to these tracks you blessed us with and something dawned on me...
At the start of the ATL Untouchable remix, Dre used the same little horn shit that the RZA used in the Kill Bill movies. I remember everybody
I remember everybody saying what an awesome job the RZA did, and I agree, but It's crazy to think Dre used it over a decade ago for a REMIX to a song.

props!
but the links are down, can somebody re-up?

^ You're an idiot. Do you even know what an engineer does? An engineer most certainly has access to vaults, and an engineer could very easily be Dre's best friend in the studio. There's probably at least a dozen people who would have the access Mellowman apparently has to Dre's 'vault' or whatever, if you knew anything about recording music you'd know that. What, you think Dre just goes in the studio and crawls around on the floor plugging microphones in and shit? You think a dude worth 200 million dollars doesn't have people around him he can trust? You think he handles everything he does himself, and has all the music locked up in his basement or something? You think Dre takes all his music home and mixes them on his computer at night with his wife? He has tons of people doing shit for him, it's 100% feasable that Mellowman could be someone Dre works with in the studio.
