There will be some debuts, however, headed by Interscope 50 Cent posse G-Unit, which should finish just behind the big three with a one-week total of 110k for its new album, T.O.S. (Terminate on Sight), their first in five years.

whats the big 3?
LOL at 110K...30-40K less than what Banks & Buck solos debuted at and those 2 albums didnt even go gold.
-

LMFAO....at last the g unit boat has sunken like the titanic. see people some folks can see through that plastic bullshit. t.i. don't kill 'em ,he already did it his self!!!!!!

that...and what kind of promotion did they have? "I Like The Way She Do It" was the only thing out to the public.
-
Sales is all relative, compared to how much it cost to actually make the album. No features, no big name producers, little promotion. They'll probably make a profit if this thing sells 200-300k.
-
the risk is so high right now, not even with huge promotion anymore do albums sell.... so why risk it? less money to get back for everyone
they developed a fan base... this shit is really fucked right now, big names like these guys cant even sell albums, back in the days albums could be garbage but still push alot of units if it was a big name
-
games gunna outsell them lol
REALLY?
-
as if you couldnt tell that g-unit was finished age's ago
-
did buck leave on time or what? :D
-
This is why 50 is trying to be Will Smith and act.
-
what kind of promotion did they have? "I Like The Way She Do It" was the only thing out to the public.
they have another video gettin spins already on bet/mtv and have for a while - rider pt2
2 singles with videos before album comes out is pretty good promotion imo.

yeah and once that single flopped, they quickly rushed out that gay ass "Rider Pt. 2" video and that didn't even get them much play, lol... don't get it twisted, I love that song, but that video was too much and looked extremely gay...
not surprised by the sales either... album was average

once The Game outsells G-Unit the excuse will be "Oh it's not fair competition, it's a solo artist VS a group, he needs to outsell 50"

That's completely true. When Game outsells 50, and Game out sells G-Unit with BWS, is the ONLY way Game can say he won. Both those will probably never happen. You can't compare 50 and Game. 50's a business man and manages a record label, puts out albums. Game has a shitty label, and hasn't release any albums on it (other then his own). 50's in a much better place in music these days, and so are the people around him.
Game's record also probably cost maybe triple or more to make. All those features and producers cost a lot of money, not to mention the huge promotion it'll get.
Promotion isn't about singles or videos, it's about advertising, magazines, and all that other crap. Any artist can make a video, but promoting an album costs more then the album costs to make.

Hey 50 has no problem letting people know how many records he sells so each time out it's put up or shut up for me. Game too. They all run around acting like they cracked the Matrix into how to make consumers buy their product. Ok, so now what will be the reason.
-
^yup, when your as cocky as 50 is, put or shut up each time.
-
you guys know 50's comin up with those excuses now, as we speak.

being a business man is cool, but lets remember that this is about putting out the best product for the consumer to buy. This shitty album/mixtape was the first mistake. The lack of promotion(which if it was good would have been good for the consumers, which i feel was preety good( just as good as games if not better) Hell they were all over the radio whether it was an interview, Curtis all over the radio talking about how he gon push game shit back, the tape convo which was huge promotion, or the controversial ti diss which ringed across the country through every dj around. Not to mention being on 106 and park twice in one week and the making of their video being on bet twice. The consumer wants quality music and they did not deliver for some reason. That reason is if they floped :o which they knew was in the making they can blame it on how raw and gutta the music is, which this cd is not any more raw than say a fat joe album (kitty cat, close to me, like the way she do it, chase da cat and party aint over, ETC) far from gutta

HA HA HA i told you this nigga was a G-Unit stan!
First of all if GAME (solo artist) outsells a GROUP..HOW IN THE FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK CAN U SAY THAT GAME IS NOT WINNING? ARE U FUCKIN SERIOUS WHITEBOY??
SECOND OF ALL. Game did not pay for any of the artist on the album...on Doctors Advocate he only payed 2-3 artist which was Busta Rhymes and someone more. He said it and Snoop, Dogg Pound said it
Not on this album either. He only pays for some of the artist.
*waits for dude to say "When did Game become credible wit anythng he says* lmao like theres a reason to lie about that
This nigga stays with G-Units dick in their mouth
If i fight with 3 niggaz and i know..how the fuck can u not say that I WIN? Ure fucking stupid as fuck u dumb ass muthafucka
And who the fuck cares about WHO MAKES THE SPEND THE MOST FROM THE BUDGET???
The fact is if Game outsells them he wins..he's 1 fucking artist thats gone against 4 G-Unit members + the sidekicks like Spider Loc, MOP and Mobb Deep!

But the question is... Who makes the best music?

thats what happens when you put out below average music...
-

sssh, G-Unit still has fans you know :D
-
this isn't surprising. but then again i think 50 knew this wasn't gonna sell. it wasn't promoted and had no kind of budget for production. and then the small fact that tony yayo is all over it, so even if it was potentially good then it's automatically garbage. even on his crappy curtis lp, 50 dropped a hot single to make sure it had a decent first week.
more than likely 50 and the unit aren't on very good terms with jimmy any more and 50 is wanting to get off the label cause his ego has become way too big and he's completely forgot what (more like who) made him mega-popular in the first place.
-
G-Unit is soon to be finished!
-
Got what they deserved:
- album budget of a mixtape
- same old predictable singles formula, same subject matter as in 03, no growth
- 50 wasn't even there for the most part of the promotion, he was shooting a movie and you know nobody gives a fuck about Banks and Yayo
- the cd must have been made in like 2 months, 50 probably wants to get off Interscope as soon as possible, allowing Banks & Yayo to get some dough in the process
- I can already see the exuse: "the album material was too agressive to be accepted by the general public/ demographic" from 50's favorite book "how to sound articulate and stay a G"
-
Not Suprised
Album Was Wack
-
The Game is going to sell alot
-
we will just have to wait for the next 50/G-Unit interview for the excuses to roll in ;D
-
Wow i was expecting less. They aint done badly compared to most and seeing as none of their singles broke the top 50. I doubt theres few artists that could put out group albums and get sales like e.g. USDA anyone? But album was wack compared to Beg For Mercy and had nothin spent on it so im stll kinda surprised iiiiwll sell over 100,000 copies first week.
-
T.O.S flopped lets see how many units Buck can move on his own!
-

probably less cause he's lost more fans than hes gained by splitting from gunit
-
Yup probably, the G-Unit era is soon to be gone! 50 alone probably gon keep selling records though..
-

yer curtis was average but still sold over a milli which is real gd in this climate. 50 still a huge artist but he cant just throw anythin out now and it be a hit he need somethin bangin.
-
tos is kinda wack, only hot song on there is that staright outta southside shit - everything else is staright wackness
-
I'm bettin that Nas' first week sales will beat what G-Unit did.........I haven't listened to G-unit since around 03 but I downloaded TOS just to see what they have been up to & it seems that it is just the same old same old ish they put out(which is pretty much why I don't listen to their music anymore).....Yayo being on the album does more harm than it helps........the beats weren't anything great.........Banks just seems like he doesn't try that hard at spitting anymore.......& 50 isn't a rapper anymore.......all these things equaled a minus for G-Unit........they still have fans but I bet a lot of the fans that did buy the cd were disappointed & the cd won't be in very heavy rotation.......just my opinion
-
50 was played out a week after Get Rich Die Trying Droped.
I think the funniest thing about G-Unit new albums, is that bullshit rumor (that I wouldn't doubt they started him selves)that not enough album were pressed for the high demand. So if you wanted the album you'd have to get it right away or have to wait another week for them to press more copies.
-
in the case of this cd you could just cop the special no tony yayo downloadable edition
-
wow, R.I.P. music industry
this just in , More jobs to be cut more people to be laid off
I was just reading in billboard magazine how sales are down from last year, and last year was the first year ever that the industry didn't sell something like 600 million albums. So this shit keep gettin worse and worse time for niggaz to find a new hustle.
And tos is an good album at that.
-
I also liken 50 is looking to get out of the contract with interscope and only did this album due to contractual obligation and label protestation - he couldn't release Before I Self Destruct as soon as he would've like and was told to relese a g-unit album instead. Boys been talking about it for a minute or two so I'm not surprised.
I actually don't think the second half of this album is that bad. 50 & G-Unit get a lot of hate.

Yea bro not many people work at record labels anymore, there really isn't no more a & r's, everythings been wiped out... i dont know but can you recall a couple years ago, when people were making the arguement "the internet didnt kill the record buisness its not at fault, its the shitty music thats being put out"
well labels still have great assets, however cannot make any money off of them. kinda feel bad for those people who went to school for a music degree,
who went all out moved in from out of town in high hopes of coming to L.A./Hollywood to have a career in the record buisness.
"music is a great hobby, but a lousy buisness"

i feel that increasingly poor output is just to much a blame as the general market decline for poor sales. both things happening at the same time means the industry is doing really badly and labels are being ultra hesistant about releasing anything/putting money into marketing entire albums. albums that have enough quality throughout and are marketed by great singles are still selling fairly well, its just there's hardly any products out there like that anymore.
-
Like someone said earlier, I think 50 is just fullfilling his contract obligations to either re-up big with Interscope or go somewhere else. BFM was worth getting just for the beats alone. Hi-Tek, Dre, Sam Sneed, Needlez, etc. Now it's obvious they wanted to just get this out there from the selection of beatmakers on this one. Now I am all for giving new producers a chance but most of those producers I just mentioned are IN HOUSE. You ain't got to go far to get a Dre or Hi-Tek beat.
-
LMFAO......they fell the fuck off. 5-0 destroyed his own squad.
-
maybe he's fallin off on purpose to make BISD the greatest comeback album of all time. :P :D ;D

I bet any money that Game and Nas will outsell G-Unit in first week and overall 8)

Game will definatly...but Nas i dk. he doesnt have that much promotion goin on right now, im feelin a nas flop. shame too, it was such a GREAT ALBUM.
-
true about Nas, but maybe at last minute like a week before it drops we will see a video/more promotion ;D

would be nice for him, a big video for hero...should get him a few more thousand albums sold.

whats the big 3?

damn homie years ago you was the man homie...LOL anybody that would sign over there now would be a dummy.

By now, 50 should know that nobody really gives a shit about G-Unit anymore...so why does he waste money and time making these albums?
