try out some other things before you format it...u dont want to lose all your stuff if you dont have to...try starting in safe mode..and if u have any kind of virus software, scan your system then...sounds to me like u have some corrupted files...

i do it all the time, because it cleans up you computer=speed. You can do this two ways.

1) Takes longer, but is easiest. Burn all your files (Songs, documents,...personal files) then Format. Reinstall windows. Then extract all your files back onto your computer.

2) [this is what i do]. Make 2 partitions on your hard drive. A partition is basically making 1 hard drive into 2. So if you had a 100gb hard drive. You could make 2 50gb drives. So when you look on your computer you have a C: drive and a D: drive.

I made my C: drive 10gb, and my D: drive 110gb. The C: drive has all my program files, and my windows files. My D has all my personal files.

So when you ever want to format your computer, you just format the C: drive. Reinstall windows. The D: drive with all your files stays intact.

ugh im such a geek.
