Rappers shouldn't even say they gonna 'retire' from a rap game. They are just supposed to stop. We know why they say they retiring but still...

i dk...if you look at it. he has one bad album, and a few bad features. hes got 2 classics on his resume and the eminem show is a border line classic imo. no apologizes on the re-up sounded like a turn around. so thats why i have the faith and think he might be able to pull summin good out.

the closest eminem got to a classic is MMLP and he went down hill fast after that album.......eminem show was decent, encore was garbage, the reup was garbage, 8 mile was dope no doubt but that was his last lil moment of fire, i cannot remember hearing something great off eminem in a long ass time....

The songs "8 Mile Road" and "Lose Yourself" off the 8 Mile movie track were the last great songs Eminem had left in him.  He had a little juice left to lend for 50's first album... but the truth is Em had a message and he had alot of shit he wanted to get off his chest, he also wanted to prove his greatness, and after 3 great albums, and the 8 Mile Project, bringing Dre back to stardom, and puttin out 50 Cent... he had nothing left to prove.  "Lose Yourself" and "8 Mile Road" were his final messages to hip-hop, he's said what he had to say.

the one thing that pisses me off about EM is he had the talent to put out a true hip hop classic but he catered to much to the MTV crowd at times.  The SSLP was a great album and the MMLP was a near classic.  But it was all down hill after except for a few tracks

i aint no hater but i aint no groupie livin in dreamland either, infact i believe hiphop needs people like nas, jigga, snoop, dre luda and eminem and so on....

BUT eminem hasnt done shit for a long ass time, ofcurse the white kids love him but as a hiphop fan he aint done shit in a real long ass time, his production is terrible....his a hugely one dimensional rapper and thats his biggest problem, his been speakin the same shit since day one...it was great up to mmlp...but there is only so many ways u can say shit if your subject matter is limited...and on eminem show and encore his shit was played out...

and no where did i say that eminem will not come good this time....

infact it would suprise me more if his album was garbage again rather than dope, because it is comin out around the time of detox so dre will be focused on it, more than ever, he also has more freedom to make music how he wants now more than ever, he has no excuses, his options and access to what he needs is unlimited...its just about putting out a great product....i think it'll be a dope album.....

but he needs to step his game up big time because he shit is seriously beyond wack right now

I expect NOTHING from Em next album ... dude is washed up .. keep half singing about smacking asses  :-X he hasn't been able to make a decent song and express his feelings about Proof death .. that's LAME ...  the 99-00 Em would have made an incredible song about his best friend ..

I agree with the post above. After 8mile it was all down hill. Once he signed 50 he acted like he was a gangster rapper talking about shooting guns and g-unit, beef with ja rule and how his crew will fuck you up etc etc, shit was laughable. His flow also did a 180. No longer does he rhyme words, now he rhymes his tones. He raps in this constant, un-varying monotone drag that's absolutely mind numbing. It doesn’t even require talent; the guy from White Rapper Show could imitate it perfectly. He just said whatever he wanted without bothering to rhyme but kept the tone and length structure consistent, it was a dead ringer for Em's style. The fact he does all his production doesn’t help either, it all sounds too homogeneous, predictable and repetitive.

Wow, that's one of the lamest comments I've seen recently. How do you know Eminem hasn't recorded a song about Proof? Why do you hold grudges against him for that? Please correct me if I'm in desperate need of an update, but as far as I know Eminem hasn't dropped a new solo album ever since Proof died. A Proof-tribute may very well be waiting for the album to drop. There goes your blank accusation.

^^^^^ ever heard of the re-up ? You don't need to wait to drop a solo to make a tribute song ..

So because Eminem didn't put a personal tribute song on a compilation album, he's an asshole for not caring about his dead friend?

well if you want to make it good, then maybe you do.

and how does not making a tribute song yet, take away from him as a rapper?

lol, it'll eventually come out, and you know eminem will be on that. im curious to hear how he sounds on the upcoming D-12 album. if he sounds like he did on devil's night, thats a good sign. but if i hear sum 'my band' shit, then hes in trouble.

WOW, this forum lost love for Eminem real quick....kinda sad
I've been a fan but not lost in the whole Eminem Aftermath Era of music, where people claimed they could do no wrong.
I used to get dissed all the time on the forum for saying that Em's majority of music would be pretty much "Dead weight" material
in a year or 2, and not because dude is wack or whatever, on the flip his flow was as on point if not better that just about anyone to ever do this IMO. but because his subject matter on his pop track's, which in the end will be what people will remember him for.
Slim's Material did not hold up good, I look back at his debut and the following albums and the majority of the track's have expired....
The whole Extacy, Britney/NSync stuff, the Limp Bizkit disses the Christina slam's ect.. that stuff is no longer relevent. (the flow is there, but the material is not).
I can almost see it now in 5/10 years if dude is still around he might be put on Vanilla status, on a "I love the.." 2000' shit type of VH1 show. When all the teenies that grew up on the TRl era of mtv grow up and begin to make fun of their stuff like my peer's did the 80's/90's.
Then it will be Standard to make fun of EM.

Which suck's beause he did drop some great song's and stuff that will last, he just never dropped enough. (8-mile proved he could he just didn't)
Stan
The Way I am
White America
Cleaning Out my Closet
Lose Yourself
And let's not forget his Guest shot's where he murdered shit like on "Renegades" ect

This last album could bring dude back, because he defo has alot of shit to say now. (Been through alot of shit since Encore)
it's been a minute so Em might be in a real good spot material wise, but if he goes back to the MTV shit..
which at this point he don't need, then who know's.

But Danm Em, why di you have to do the 2pac stuff...lol
Those Em Produced Pac joint's are collecting hella dust on my shelf still in the fucken wrapper.
But oh well, just another opinion and we all know about that.
