Yeah I kinda remember that. He's always negative about shit like this.
Well, he needs to know Season 2 is Broken Ground : Xzibit, King Maker with album and visuals like Jayo's.

I said that thinking it's nice X took them to produce things on here not some newcomers. Didn't thought someone would think I know them just from Compton. :)

what i mean is it would be better if you'd say "there are a lot of producers from aftermath" and we could guess who they are. when you say "there are a lot guys from compton album" it makes me think you mention justus, king mez, jon connor and other rookies...
dont get me wrong.

Limited edition CD/DVD will be online 13 august.
Will that be on amazon or is there gonna be a special website to order this?
-
I’m glad that Test Me joint made the cut. Not sure what he’s put out since Crip Hop, but this feels like his first official album since that one to me.

Sounds dope. Is the name of the album just "Broken Ground" or "Call Me By My Goverment"? It seems it's just "Broken Ground".
-
Any word on if it’s only hard copies right now or if it’s gonna be on streaming platforms as well?
EDIT: He says “Test Me” will be available on all platforms the 13th.

I'm bumping now. This album is dope as fuck! 8)
"Time Flies" is really good and goes over his career ups and downs and legal troubles, including the infamous home squatting news segment.
-
Listenin' to this right now. The first song's dope.
-
Pretty good album. BUT to me it sounds to much like a xzibit sound instead of what jayo really would have made.

Well, Xzibit did executive produce the album alone. Who gives a fuck though? The shit is dope. Try to enjoy it instead of complainin' about somethin'. Oh yeah, I guess the name of the album is just "James Savage". What's up, LostAngel? I thought you were connected to Xzibit and Open Bar Entertainment or somethin' like that?
-
I bought mine and haven’t gotten it in the mail yet, and it isn’t on Apple Music either like Xzibit original said it was .

I've been spamming about this since it was announced. It's an album but on different way. You get a mini movie with it. You know when you hearing some music you get to paint the picture in your head. Well now you won't have to do that, because it has the visual story.

That’s that good Aftermath production
-
It’s up on ITunes and Apple Music now, the hard copies are available on the Openbar website https://openbarent.com/
The movie and album are sold in a bundle for $19.99 I bought the iTunes version now for $6.99 they havnt shipped yet I take it. I stay in LA so it shouldn’t be long now.

What the fuck is this shit? I watched all the videos on this page.
Nobody is a bigger Xzibit fan than me, and I love the idea of Xzibit getting behind Jayo, especially if he's going to bring Dre to the table. But the Al Pacino Scarface angle they are taking on this is waaaaayyyyyyyy to played out.
..that said I'm only hearing and seeing these clips so maybe when I get full tracks or full movie or whatever the full project is I will see it differently. But I'm not feeling the early sights and sounds

That's the full project. That's the movie. Some people like it, some don't. You don't have to like it. It's new sound, new approach and I'm glad it's like that, I'm glad they're not stuck into 2000's and they're moving ahead of time. Really diggin' this and the approach to it.
And "Nobody is bigger Xzibit fan than me..." Dude... You have no idea.

This is not a new idea.
Sticky fingaz did it several times before.
For example

the movie and album is fire. a very solid project from someone who hasn't dropped an album in over 10+ years. jayo came correct on that shit...I just wish some battlecat and fred wreck beats was on there too. all in all I love the project and the very forward thinking of OBE.

I think X wanted to do it like this to appeal to new people, and for old ones. I like the way how it end up. And I'm glad Aftermath had it's hands in it, just like Dre. Can't wait for King Maker and new Dre production for X.

This is hands down one of my favorite projects in recent years. It shits on the Snoop album IMO. I like that Xzibit essentially reinvented and revived Jayo’s career. Jayo seemed lost as an artist after Crip Hop. He’s a super talented rapper but he needs a good team/label behind him to be successful so props to Xzibit for filling that role.
-
Yeah, I like this (and the new Snoop). What role did Aftermath play? The credits on Tidal are worthless.

did dr. dre produce at all for jayo?

He was there during producing of the album. But there's no his name stamped at anything. He will produce for X tho.

So why did they change the name of the album? Did you ask?

So why did they change the name of the album? Did you ask?
Maybe it was done to differentiate the album from the mini movie?

Had some time to peep the album today, but didn't get to watch the mini-movie. The mediocrity of it all kinda put me off from even going through with the movie to be fair

on first listen, solid project .. well produced and jayo can still flow as good as ever. the only issue i had with it is some of the choruses had a hard rock vibe to them which doesn’t really give it that jayo sound. i prefer smooth, laid back production for jayo like on time flies. an album fulla joints like that woulda been a classic.

Co-sign.
More hooks like "Please don't shoot" would give the album a more relaxed timeless feeling.
Album had DJ Khalil on a beat, he shoulda reached out to Kobe Kokilla for one of them smooth hooks. 8)

my thought exactly. most of the songs sounds dark whereas "time flies" is a bright song and way more enjoyable to listen to.
-
Got mine in the mail. Good to finally get an official Jayo release after all these years. I liked the DVD. It's like I get a visual for the whole album. I love music videos so this is right up my alley, and he connects it to true events from his life. And was cool to see G. Perico appearance in it as he is one of my favorite newer West Coast rappers. The lil twist at the end was good too. As for the music, Jayo's raps are still on point! Just for me some of the beats don't catch my ear as much. My favorite tracks are "Time Flies", "Where I Grew Up", "Ape Shit", and "Test Me". The other beats I don't feel at all. I like more of the kind of beats that Tray Deee, MC Eiht, Tha Chill, G. Perico, Jay Worthy, and Snoop Dogg use (showing my age here ;)). Some of these beats sound like the type of beats that are on the Serial Killaz albums, which I love B-Real, Xzibit and Demricks raps but can't get into most of the beats.
-
its time to check this.
i mean, te OST, not the film...

the album is way, i mean waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy better than i expected...

it actually grew on me tbh
even the rock sounding joints

the full album sound like some aftermath(ish) joint. xzibit learnd a lot from the good doctor.

i got really good ears to this. ;D 8)

finally saw the movie
wasn’t expecting a music video for every song, budget musta been nice on this too.
