i was praising Prince in another topic in the other forum and i was amazed some people agreed with me! :o
but thats good ;D
i know alotta u all love MJ and this was always a feud between them in the 80s ... so who do u all think is best ?
i will give u ten reasons why i think Prince is better :)
1. he writes all his own stuff
2. he can plays sereral intruments
3. he produces his own stuff
4. hes more daring ...
5. he can sing at so many different notes
6. he can do so many different styles of music
7. hes a better dancer imo
8. hes better looking by far (lol i am a girl:) )
9. hes not as commerial as mj
10. he wrote songs for other people eg: the bangles etc , that were huge hits ..........
lets the debate start!!

As For Me Its MJ All The Way - I Grew Up Listening To Michael
An Incredible Talent, Who Is A Victim Of Media Manipulation, How The Media Can Twist Stories To Make Him Look Bad In The Eyes Of The Public :-/ (If Any People From The UK Saw The CH5 Documentary About Him...I Was Disgusted, After A Good Start Of Praising Mike, They Got Into Insulting Him & In Criticising Him For The Rest Of The Programme.)

I prefer Mike, but lets look at what you said.
1. Not everything he does he wrote. He's done cover songs, and for every hit he's had, mike's had 1 he wrote, too. I think Mike is an amazing songwriter, "speechless" on his last album was a perfect example, beautiful songwriting. Heal The world, We are the World, Earth Song, tons and tons of brilliant michael jackson songs. So prince may write all his, but Mike writes SOME of his, and is humble enough to sing a well written love song by someone else.
2. Michael can play several instruments too! Not as many as Prince, but he plays piano, guitar, and drums. The beat to billie jean, on the demo version, was totally done by him, on a drum set. There's also numerous videos of him playing piano (remember the pepsi commercial?), and another thing: Most of his songs contain elements he made himself, like banging on pots, beatboxing (he's incredible at this), making whole beats up sometimes with just his mouth. (Listen to "Who is it" on dangerous, amazing song, and the beat, besides the bassline, is his mouth!)... Early Tracks like "Don't stop till ya getenough" were almost totally recorded from noises him and Janet made in the studio, back in the day, at their parents house. Even on Invincible, he bragged about how his sound couldn't be jacked, because him and Rodney Jerkins made half the sounds themselves in the studio. In court, he's been sued at least 3 times by people saying he plagurized them.. he won every case, because on the stand, he was able to write a song out of thin air, and even construct beats and melodies with his mouth in front of an amazed judge. There's even a leaked video of him doing this in france, on the stand, in front of a judge. He's almost on Doug E Fresh's level.
3. Michael Produces his own stuff! Speechless, again, was produced entirely by him, and all his albums have been co produced by him.
4. MORE DARING? WHUT? That's opinion. Surely, Prince does some WEIRD stuff, but daring? I dunno. I'd say daring is putting a song called "Lost Children" on your album after being accused of being a pedophile. Mike's got balls, everything he does is daring, the way he looks, talks, acts is daring.
5. ha, and Mike can't? Falsetto in "Don't Stop till ya get enough", Pissed off in "Bad", Beautiful Ballads in "You are not alone"... Happy and exstatic in "the way you make me feel" , sad and depressed in "She's out of my life", Rapping in "2 bad, History" whatever... Gospel, in "keep the faith", list goes on and on and on.
6. Like what? Prince does rock, r&b, soul, blues, rap? Mike does rock, r&b, soul, blues, rap, techno, rhythm and bass, dance, list goes on and on. They're even at worst on this.
7. Prince is a better dancer? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAH OH MY GOD
8. Yeah, you got him there. But Prince in 83, Verses Michael Jackson in 83? I'll bet most girls would bang mike before prince, but then again, you're a girl, I'll let you have that one, lol.
9. So? lol. If you consider "not as commercial" something positive, as in, "low record sales" or something, then I guess you have a point. But don't act like Prince doesn't want to be commercial. He just wasn't as successful.
10. Michael too. He's wrote songs for other people that were huge hits. He's written songs for Mick Jagger, Donna Summers, Quincy Jones, Rockwell (I ALLWAAAYYYS FEEL LIKKKKKE, somebody's wattcinnnnn meeeeeeee), Bill Wolfer, Janet Jackson, Paul McCartney, Dave Mason, Diana Ross, Johnny Mathis, Carol Bayer Sager, Blackstreet, Minnie Ripperton, Safire, 3T, Kenny Rogers, Etc. Etc. Etc. need I go on?
I'm not knocking Prince, I like him. But Even prince would admit Mike is a god compared to him. Lets add a couple more, shall we? :)
1. Greatest selling album, of ALL TIME Thriller (51 Million sold)
2. Considered the most famous person in the world (maybe not now, though)
3. In the guiness book of world records as the biggest selling artist of all time
4. In the guiness book of world records as the celebrity who donates to the most charities
5. Has been performing since the age of 6
I know most of those just point to him being more popular, but the reason he's more popular is because he has the same god given talent prince does, a little more in some areas, a little less in some areas. Peace~

MJ is the man. Sure, maybe Prince has more talent, but it all comes down to who's mucis I enjoy listening too. And I enjoy MJ's music anyday. Prince is dope too.

They are only girls and most of them are in their late 40's and early 50's lol

damn this is a real tough one...they both have had outstanding careers and both have made many hits....music wise i gotta give it to prince...like homegirl said he produces his own shit, writes his own shit....i dont know about the dancin...cuz mj is a dancing machine...but prince is much more daring...he tries new shit....he is an accomplished producer and writer for others..like she said...mj just has more hits in the end...but its real close....im going with PRINCE

Yeah, but Mike produces his own stuff too, writes stuff for other people, etc. Plus, mike's charity songs and songs about children and the earth and homeless make him extremely daring, in my opinion.

nah he was married to Mayte .. the girl that goes out with Tommy lee now.. i know i know ... "that doesn't mean anything" lol
but .. he was never heard of being with a man and hes famous for so long .... and hes had loads of women mostly of who he was working with .. plus Carmen Eletra :P
he wears make-up and stuff but so does MJ etc etc .....
