this is the original version to Kool G Rap' song "First Nigga", produced by DJ Premier.
the o.g. was produced by Dre and got re-produced cus the music didnt fit the overall conceptual production on G Raps Rawkus-album - so the beat was later passed on to Ice Cube, for his "Hello"-song.
this collaboration is legendary. Dre and Kool G fuckin Rap..
and here it finally is..
gimmie props, u bitch u :-*

Rawkus had to be crazy to pass on this beat. Classic track
fa real.i dont get it why tha track got re-mixed i think the album would sell more with that track, wtf were people at rawkus thinkin?
-
Dope!
Is this real though? Not just a G Rap acapella over a Dre instrumental?
I do prefer the Primo version, but this is definitely dope too
-
yeah, its official. it was on the whitelabel 12'' from 00, before the album dropped.
Rawkus swicthed the pella over to the new Primo-beat, for the album..
-
Funny how none of the " experts " on this forum knew about this .Major props. How did u uncover this ?
-
some boombap-aficionado found it on the rare witelabel 12'' for "First Nigga", and ripped it about half a yr ago.
dont think the eastcoast-forum ppl thought much of it.
for some reason, it went unnoticed. dont even think they downloaded the shit.
im spreadin it around, cus there are big Dre-fans in the right areas.. lke in here for example.
-
good to hear G Rap over this, thankyou
-
goodness mt what a find, i thought it would be a remix but its the og due to the date

the rip that I got a hold of (courtesy of the philaflava forum) and upped in the hookup spot a month ago was the first one to grace the internet, according to the guys at philaflava.I thought about making a thread but actually forgot about it.
And yeah, good as song, up there with the Primo version if you ask me
-
it's not confirmed that this is the original version,
this is what somebody posted on the philaflava forum..
"Hello" was released in 2000 and this single is supposed to be from 2001 (According to Discogs)... If that's the case they just used the instrumental for "Hello", plain & simple.
i also think that this is just a blend, but it works great.

I don't think it's a blend...
Because the real instrumental of "Hello" got this female voice makin' "ooooh oooh" and i don't hear this voice here, the beat is almost finished tho.
-
yup, its a confirmed Dre-production. Philaflava are just filled wit paranoid naysayers..
discogs are usually wrong wit dates on white labels (which is obvious, cus years are not always on white/pomotional vinyl)
the track-id says 2000, and no recordlabels are releasing promotional 12-inches of the leading abum-cuts, 1 year after the official albums been released..
plus, the Rawkus whitelabel credits the track as "original mix"..
and like Kuurpt16 said, the only available instrumental (that Rawkus could've used) had the bitch-vocals on it (which was part of the beat). clearly, the G Rap-version doesnt have it...
sums up everything
-
No offense to your beliefs but it sound like a straight up acapella blend to Hello. the beat has the same mix down as Hello, and also the last chorus begins off que. 8)
