so this guy Kevin Carter took this picture, and won all kinds of awards for it. But he didn't even help the kid, afraid of the kid, look @ that vulture, for all we know, tha muthafuca ate the kid. What's ironice is Kevin Carter made money of this pic and got all kinda awards, but then went ahead and commited suicide a couple months later.

I think you're right.
That picture makes me feel horrible. :(
-
yeah that vulture is going to be hungry in another hour after that
-
JOKE..... don't try and make fun of me because i do charity every year and donate money out of every one of my paychecks
and i'm not talking about going to strip clubs
-
That's interesting how the guy took his own life after getting so much acknowledgement for the picture. I guess he couldn't live with himself for not helping the kid out.

if that's the reason than it's a good one, you think being in a situation like that would make you realize how good you have it and make a change in your life...but money is the root of all evil
-
Of course its sad
-
damn i feel lucky for the way i live :(
-
hmm...is it just me, or does that Vulture look JUST like George W Bush?
-

yah, but im assuming he took more then just this ONE pic. He could have taken hundreds...thousands of pictures showing people suffering. This is just the one that got him recognition. So it might not have been this ONE picture that set him off.
-
Alright, I'll ask the question then. Why was the guy such a prick he couldn't find the courage to help a kid who was in danger of being devoured? I mean... EATEN, what the fuck? Maybe I'm a little more brave than most people, but I don't think it takes much bravery to stand in the way of an animal trying to eat a live human being. Maybe it's just me, seems like a simple choice, throw a rock @ the vulture, problem solved. What a pussy.
-
How do you guys know he didn't help the kid?
-
he probably got that picture just to show how some of the kids live
but he probably hepled the kid after he took the pic
-

You are so ignorant it's not even funny.
Starvation and pure human emotion like this goes deeper than "politics" for 99.98% of humans. Sorry I can't say the same for you.
-
i dont think he was trying to eat him who knows i wouldnt worry anyway just how that country is
cant help them :(

lol@ Engelwood speaking on something "deeper then politics". Youre hardly even a real person, when it comes to "human emotion". youre from the side that would kick this poor child to the side for fear that your tax dollars would go to helping him. So yes, if he happened to be laying on a can of oil, you OR George Bush would send the vultures.
-
it would have been the saddest picture in the world if we saw the Vulture beak deep into the kid. Either way, rip to the lil homey.
-
You know, if I walked up on a vulture eating a kid, I wouldn't have taken the picture.
-
Str8 goods, I would. If a vulture finds grub, its finishing the damn thing off. Those motherfuckers dont have food fed to them. Taking a picture wont change shit except ya bank amount. Remember, you said u would "sell out" if you had a chance, no?
-

Word. Just looking at that one picture depresses me so I couldn't imagine taking lots of those pictures.

Yeah, but I also qualified that by saying I'd do almost anything.
-
im jus curious tho how do you kno he didnt help the kid out at all. did he actually say he didnt.

This coming from a man that's afraid to help his own mother. You ain't brave, I've been trying to say that people around the world live like this, and you always say that it's not our problem. Well what are we to do when millions of little kids are starving. I've said before, we need to find ways to help out people, we need to find ways to help them help themselves, Charity is not going to cut it, we don't have enough resources to supply the world, but we need to come together with the other nations in Europe, and Japan, and other developed nations, and find a way to help these people.

So you know me pretty well from over the internet hunh?
Just remember, you're the one who brought politics into this thread.
Fuck you.

So it's just assumed he didn't help the kid?
-
Things are worse in Iraq forget these kids.
:P
You all are stereotyping the vulture, he could be friendly you know.

Yeah maybe he wanted to pick up the kid and fly him to safety 8)
-
This kid looks under-developed to me...look at his torso compared to his arms and legs. This has gotta be somewhere in Africa...
Things are worse in Iraq? I know it's pretty fucked over there, but African countries and villages like this are FAR worse off. Some of the shit that happens in Africa makes me glad I'm far, far away. Nearly 2/3 of all Africans have AIDS (b/c IMO the dumb Africans won't wear a fucking condom), girls are forced to marry and give birth at around age 15 in many villages...shit is FUCKED UP over there. Be happy you all live where you do...America, Canada, Britain, Germany...we're ALOT better off.
-
it's a shame
but it's nature :-\
-

They're TOO DUMB to wear condoms? You're the only dumb one for making a statement like that.
-
yeah why dont the dumb africans just go to the 7/11 and buy some fuckin trojans
-
The HIV virus is capable of going through condoms because of it's small size. Condoms would probably help, but definitely isn't a problem solver.
-

Yet another stupid comment

Its effective 85% of the time, when used correctively.

Did I say the words "Too Dumb"? No...I said "dumb Africans"...there is a difference. They won't wear condoms because they don't want to, so they spread the disease more and more...thats just plain DUMB. Don't put extra words in my statements, soccer-bitch.
-
Actually, there does exist many cultural taboos re: condom use in african countries, and there still exists damaging myths regarding AIDS, as well as really hazardous lifestyle decisions made by African men; This shouldnt by any means dismiss AIDS in Africa or condemn the Africans to be at fault, just put things in perspective.
-
That picture is like old people falling over. You shouldn't laugh but....
-
hmm...is it just me, or does that Vulture look JUST like George W Bush?
...I guess its his fault Africa is poor...
