I was never the biggest Biggie fan, but you can't deny the talent he had, especially as a lyracist. "Ready To Die" is a classic, kind of reminds me of 'Pac's "Me Against The World" in a sense. My fav. song from him is "One More Chance", I have no particular fav. line though.
-
Biggie Smalls is the illest... take any line from the song "Dead Wrong" and you'll notice his immense lyrical talent.
R.I.P. Biggie Smalls
G.O.A.T.
-
i got no fave line...but biggie was deffenetlly a phenomenon there aren"t much rappers like him, no one could tell a story like biggie did, no one could bring that typa between-lines energy biggie created from the expectation the listener had to catch what happens next, no one else had that amazing deep voice and flow pushing his lyrics straight into the sub consience and brain...BIG was amazing, he would run shit today if he was alive, no doubt.
p.s
biggie was very diffrend from pac so i get more and more convinced they cant really be compared, both were two of the greatest
-
Biggie is dope man. One of the GOAT!
-
"I sit back and look, when i used to be a crook, doing whatever it took, from snatching chains to pocket-books"
is a very dope line!
Another one that is good but nothing special, that marked its place in my brain is:
"I remember i was just like u, smokin blunts with my crew, flippin on 62´s"
Personally i think Biggie was better than Pac (after i bought "R2D" a month ago) but their styles are different so u cant really compare the two...
Here´s another one:
"Now honies play me close like butter played toast,
From the Mississippi down to the east coast,
Condos in Queens, indo for weeks,
Sold out seats to hear Biggie Smalls speak"
Peace

^ Word, Biggie Smalls is the G.O.A.T.
-
I honestly don't see why people think Biggie's tight....oh well...it's all opinions.

I can't stand his shit. Personally, I think he is VERY over-rated.

Biggie Smalls was the illest! i know most peeps on this board know that i like snoop he is my fav rapper of all time but i know that he ain't touchin biggie smalls on tha mic. Neither was pac. Pac had nothin on biggie IMO.
Truly biggie was and will always be the GOAT. R.I.P.

Peace1!

His best line of all time was
"F*ck the State Pen, F*ck Ho's at Penn State"
-
^^ Hahahaha, NO DOUBT. I agree. First time I heard him say that I just laughed my ass off.
-
B.I.G. is one of the greats without a doubt. Having such a HUGE impact on hip hop within a three year career is amazing. The best storyteller IMO and had one of the sickest flows ever. He made the best party/commercial songs because he had top notch production and he incorporated lyricism into a commercial song which was hard to do. When I first bought Ready To Die I wasn't really impressed because I wasn't feelin' most of the production since I was still riding the G-Funk wave. After my tastes got broader I recognized how great the album is but Life After Death wasn't that great IMO.

That's sarcastic, I gather Biggie Smalls was never one of your favorite rappers.
-
biggie was tight but i feel that he was a lil overatted, not too much but im talkin about those magazines and shit that say he was the goat and all that, that shit pisses me off

word, he is definitly in tha top 10 of all-time but i dont see how u can call some1 tha GOAT wit only one definite classic an one near classic.

well...under certain sircumstances you can, i alway claim the term "classic" is a very blured and unclear defenition, it ain't like everythang that is classic is same quallity, although it is extremelly solid, one might be better, "ready to die" was un believeable, the way BIG pianted pictures, flowed, and put the listener into his own head- as if the listener was in the story himself....i dunno may be it's just me, but that album reaches beyond words, to describe, I felt it so much...it was basiclly like watching a movie or somethin....imo BIG can be considered straight up in the top3 only thanx to that album,
it's consistancy was amazing. RA was said to be the g.o.a.t after "paid in full", NAS was claimed to be one of the G.O.A.Ts after ILLmatic... imo BIG cant be overrated- he reached beyond Rap...he was like a walking cinema or somethin...lol
-
^^^Word!! I used to feel that Biggie was overrated when he was battlin wit Pac and they beef was all that was talked bout in hop-hop but now that I have sit and listened to Biggie's shit I can see how cats can rate him in tha top 3 of all time!! I dont know bout tha GOAT, but at least he deserves top 3, he could just paint u a picture like no otha! It is a shame that he passed, and we didnt get to hear more shit from him cuz who knows what he would have done in tha game if he was still here!
