so after some time with the album i like it a little more than the last but still not as much as fancy footwork. probably due to the fact they're doing in a more epic pop direction than sticking with the pure funk jams. of the unheard material i like 'lost on the way home' & 'somethingood' the most.
'lost on the way home' is a mad chills type of record, big 80s synth pop groove feel with a great rhythm. very chill 8)
'somethingood' is the grooviest track, this is what i want to hear and the closest to anything resembling the fancy footwork sound.
all in all there are no bad tracks. everything is expertly produced and funky, just it gets a little too poppy & ballad like at times. PM for further details.

Nice. I'll check this out.
I'm really loving some of the official/unofficial remixes though like this one.

Super dope album.
Come alive my favorite so far.
-
album got better and better after more spins 8)
more of y'all should peep this, dope production and grooves throughout 8)

Great album.

funky soundtrack for your summer ride! sure this new LP can't touch Fancy Footwork but it has dope cuts showing P and Dave's consistency.
"Over your Shoulder" is perfection. Inspiration may come from Daft Punk and Nile Rodgers and that infectious guitar riff.
The Chromeo recipe works on "Jealous", "Come Alive" (in spite of a lazy guitar solo).
The second half of "Sexy Socialite" brings the song to another level where you can feel the pressure building.
Not impressed by "Lost On The Way Home" first. It's growing.
"Hard to Say No" is cool and i can't help thinkink of Magnum, PI theme :).
Not as enthusiastic as you are on "Somethingood". It's groovy and all but the extended part at the end could have make it great whereas it totally downgrades it and makes it boring :-\.
The final track, "Fall Back 2U" is extra dope. light disco strings, and when you think the song ends -badabing- the solo saxophone comes in and mingles perfectly with the vocoder. And those claps 8).
-
Old 45's is really working that Prince vibe well.
-
maybe i shall check this out...seen em do a performance once that was kind of corny so i never went back to see what they was sounding like on an album

which track?
the first two albums are pretty damn funky straight through. this is definitely more pop inspired in its sound. i love it but it's not what was great about the earlier stuff. i'm more excited about that tuxedo funk LP than this i think

thanks for the comments dude. 'lost on the way home' is definitely one of my favorite vibes on here, it's got that night time feel which i always appreciate in a good jam. and yeah 'fall back 2u' is greatness. loving that now :D the ending is really epic but my favourite part is the groove break down @ 3:54 after all the sax and voicebox stuff 8) that's the kind of groove i associate chromeo with, nice and simple 8)
i'm not sure about this track especially the 'higher...higher' stuff but damn they made a funny video for it 8)
frequent flyer http://www.funnyordie.com/videos/b1a8932121/chromeo-s-in-flight-safety-video-frequent-flier

been bumpin the album lately, it definitely grew on me, some of the bridges / hooks are a bit poppy but the rythmic guitars and grooves are insane, especially on Something Good and Over Your Shoulder, definitely my two favorite songs

very nice 8)
"DJ Cassidy, a musician and producer who has DJ'ed both President Obama's inaugural ball and Beyoncé and Jay Z's wedding, has released a new single titled "Future Is Mine" featuring Chromeo. The song also features Patrice Rushen (of "Forget Me Nots" fame), drummer John J.R. Robinson (Daft Punk, Michael Jackson, countless others), guitarist Wah Wah Watson (Michael Jackson, Marvin Gaye, Barry White), and horn player Jerry Hey (Michael Jackson)."

White women is a dope lp! The only tracks I'm not too impressed with are sexy socialite and frequent flyer.

not my favourite Chromeo track for a while, production seems a bit congested. i much prefer the track with Oliver.

i tend to find a lot of these Chromeo joints grow on you the more you listen.
funny enough 'Bedroom Calling' is the one i'm feeling most now, real uplifting track 8)

I think Maroon 5 is a band I dislike a lot.
-
Damn. For some reason I can’t play embedded videos from my iPad anymore.
-
soooo the LP is about! 8)
and guess who is on there! holy shit i don't want to ruin it for you guys :bandit:
-
i don't think i ever got so excited for an intro to a song, fanboy moment :P
album is fire though, most definitely the one i was waiting for after Fancy Footwork 8)
now all they need to do is drop a couple of slow songs and the collabs and we have Fancy Footwork II :)
-
Quik! Slumming it was dope. Gotta listen more to the rest
-
after a few spins, I prefer White Women. this one's got too many ballads and not enough funk on it IMO.
however there are several excellent tracks. and Just Friends is :o :o :o :o :o
-
A lot of these trackers are growers. I do wish there were a couple more funkier tracks though.
-
eventually listened to the album. Twice, thrice.
Not really electrified by that new release. However "Just Friends" is a good song. And so is "Slumming It" which is pure dopeness and made me wanna clap my hands all along.
-
there are some jams on this album 8)
i love the production on 'one track mind' and obviously 'just friends' with that outrageously juicy bassline (raphael saadiq), slumming it and bedroom part 2 is another banger 8) and lastly room service for that chill outro vibe 8)
-
another remix that i enjoy:

live music is cool:

Covid project by the Canadian duo:
listen: https://chromeo.bandcamp.com/album/quarantine-casanova
5 new songs with instrumentals. "stay in bed" instrumental is good g-funk.
