Kurupt produced like 3 (so much style, never leave me alone, etc.) tracks wtf how can he be underrated lmao.
Define underrated though, are we talking largely ignored by the mainstream (makes sense if we're talking about producers) or by the industry (dope producers with a solid catalog but who often go unnoticed), my definition is closer to the latter.

a lot of these producers are either considered either 1) legendary (no id, buckwild, showbiz) 2) go-to producers with solid résumés (bink, nottz, dj toomp) 3) superproducers (statik selektah), i don't think the term "overlooked" applies to them

Pimp C isn't exactly underrated or overlooked. Scarface, on the other hand is rarely mentioned or acknowledged for his producing skills because everybody thinks of him as a rapper first and foremost despite having produced several classics.

les is considered a legend tho, but yea, in the mainstream he hasn't done as much as he could
-
I always thought Nottz was very underrated - hes got so many of dope productions on various top albums. Always happy to see him in the credits.
