aiight effers.........I got myself a new computer wit windows XP finally........
but on AIM, no one can send me files anymore.......I got alot of business 2 take care of......someone need 2 help me......thank youuuu in advance.......and oh, i dun think i have firewall.....or maybe i do, i dunno, how can i check??
and also.........where can I get sicc ass XP desktops from??
-
That's either a firewall or a router problem.
* Win XP got a built-in firewall, so that might be blocking it..
Start -> Control Panel -> Network Connections -> Rightclick what's in there -> Properties -> Advanced -> Conf. from there
* It might be blocked ports on your router, you need to unlock certain ports, and set the NAT entries/Filter sets, in your router.
Pretty difficult to configure, plus it's different procedure for each router/brand/model etc.
You should ask the ISP about this.....

Internet Service Provider.
Customer Service should be able to help you, if you explain what you need..
I got ADSL through a router provided by the ISP, and that's a pretty common solution.
But if you got 56K or any other solution, you might have a modem..

yea I got DSL.....
yo another question.........
I need 2 get my other hard drive into this one somehow but till then I wanna network somehow so I can have all my files here and vice versa.......any ideas how 2 do that one? can it be done? networkin etc?
-
its real simple actually, u just hook up the 2 computers with a wire that plugs into the back of them, see this is why dont help you because i dont know the details, but yeah you hook up a wire and then there is a lil set up thing on Windows usually that helps set you up with the network.
-
I think you need a router for networking, and once you got the router you just hook both computer up to it and set up a new network connection.
-
Rod, I got a router, that's why I can never send you shit. Fuckin Thing.
