Idk The more songs he release the weaker they are
Oh maybe it is because he release that much videos
-
Remains me of the old Death Row Days! Good Tracks , back to the old school!
-
Snoop and Daz sons in the latest video, pretty dope 8)
-
Only heard Bang Bang and On The Westcoast and seem pretty decent, Daz has been back since the WC LP IMO.
When is the LP meant to drop?
-
Very mediocre songs so far. Grown men acting stupid. Not a single relatable song for grown folks.

you seriously lookin for introspective songs from daz?
lol
-
This guy can't win.
He makes current sounding music - "He's a sell out, forgot his roots".
He makes southern music - "make music for the westcoast"
he makes a westcoast album "he's living off the past, this album would've been good 15 years ago, not now"
Makes a song with Snoop/Kurupt "This guy's riding snoop's coattails, he's not putting any new artists on the scene"
He makes a song with a new artist "who are all these nobodies Daz is working with, are him and Snoop beefing?"
"Daz is fat".
I don't know what you all want from this guy. Surprised this guy is still trying to please his fans. I'd have been long fed up by now. Don't get me wrong, Daz can be a goof at times, and he's made plenty of terrible songs, but this album is actually really good, and people still bitching about it.

;D 8) Best post you've ever made.

Daz's lyrics are so shit. Now i know kurupt wrote all his shit back in the day. Just like he stole all of kurupts songs for his This life i lead album. Daz makes me fall asleep.

Always love Daz albums. 8)

Kurupt probably wrote a lot of his lyrics back then (not all of them though) but that has nothing to do with him having shitty lyrics in 2017 since Kurupt's lyrics have been more than subpar for the most part for the past 15 years. just goes to show that they clearly don't give a fuck about lyrics, and that they're not focused. most of his fans don't care about his lyrics though since people listening to Daz (and buying his shit) are from overseas (Germany, Poland, France, Japan etc.), he's just giving them what they want.

throughout his career he's done a few dope introspective songs though (Reality, My Mama, Baby Mama Drama, etc.)

That's like 1% of his catalogue brodie
-
yeah, even more like 0,1% lol
anyway I get what WestWestYA is saying, it doesn't have to be introspective, conscious or intelligent to be entertaining, just dope and well put together, and somewhat compelling. the thing is that us listeners have matured so we're not as impressionable as we were before and it makes sense that we're not going to enjoy it as much as we once did. we're still looking for the same musical heat but the content is lacking. also, it's not as good as before. the raps, flow and lyrics are sloppy. I mean, even if Daz was never a lyrical genius, back then there was more passion, spontaneity and effort put into all aspects. I'm not pissed or anything but I definitely see where WestWestYA is coming from. it's good to see Daz trying to please his fans, the production is dope but he does look a bit retarded and embarrassing in all these videos. more power to him though.
so far, the two songs that are by far the dopest are Bang Bang (I think the original beats the G-Mix, however dope this is to see Bila, Gipp & Daz together) and On the Westcoast.

Nice, it's got Soopafly and Suga Free features! In addition to the already announced collabos with Twinz, B-Legit, Kurupt, Tray Dee, etc...this albums looking real good. We need this album by Spring so we can bump it when the weather gets warm. Glad that joint "Curious" made the final cut, has a nice summertime vibe to it.

how much of this is old material that was recorded but never officially released? R U Single was done around the So So Def days...
-
loved it first listen. But ppl got hate.
-
I tried to give a listen to the entire project yesterday but man fuck a double album in 2018 with the amount of music dropping everyday! So I just skipped the very boring songs!
I used to love this kind of music 15 years ago but man Daz c'mon you've got to evolve musically to stay relevent and this is definitely not the case here! It will please a certain type of fans who love that kind of gangsta shit but it's not for me anymore...
I do like a bunch of songs and I think I might just make my own version with my favorite songs like the tunes with Twinz, Gibbs & Tray Deee, AD & Goldie Loc, Suga Free and Lil' C-Style (who doesn't even rap on the track...) etc.
-
where can i buy the cd?
-
Shows how ADHD everyone is now looking at an album like "30 songs? Really?"
-
This is dope as fuck, way better than I expected. 8)
-
yes this double album is dope! That Track with AD, Goldie Loc & Kokane is da shit !
-
I like this. Need to listen to it in my car, though. And need a CD version as well.
-
I like most of the songs after the first spin. A lot of smooth gangsta shit on here. I would buy this, but i doubt it will be in the stores here.

Bro he makes that music in house lmao he ain’t buying no damn studio time. I know exactly how much it costs to put together a song when you have your own equipment. And to press a cd, it should cost no more than 1 dollar a unit.
Bottom line, if he sold the CDs for 15 bux each, that’s still very profitable. But I ain’t tryna tell daz how to win, I’ll pick it up if I find it at my local shop for a reasonable price.

Yeah, there are. One of the recent good examples is Eiht's latest CD and I remember ppl were complaining on shipping cost and that they wait and cop it later on for cheap... LOL Here what ppl have been recently paying for those CD's after the CD's got sold out in Premiere's webshop: https://www.ebay.com/sch/CDs/176984/i.html?_from=R40&LH_Sold=1&_udlo=&_udhi=&_samilow=&_samihi=&_sadis=15&_stpos=19720&_sop=12&_dmd=1&_ipg=50&LH_Complete=1&_nkw=MC+Eiht+%E2%80%8E–+Which+Way+Iz+West (https://www.ebay.com/sch/CDs/176984/i.html?_from=R40&LH_Sold=1&_udlo=&_udhi=&_samilow=&_samihi=&_sadis=15&_stpos=19720&_sop=12&_dmd=1&_ipg=50&LH_Complete=1&_nkw=MC+Eiht+%E2%80%8E–+Which+Way+Iz+West)

album has a decent sound. i was like meh but after smoking weed it sounds much better. i think that should be mandatory for listening to daz 8)
that r u single track was originally around the so so def era. i preferred the OG actually, more funky. this was one of the better ones from that period, daz & scott storch 8)

Track with Twinz bangs hard!

Track with Twinz bangs hard!
Yes, easily my favorite on the album. "On the Westcoast" bangs too. Summertime anthem right there.
-
While pricey, I decided to pony up for this. I have to give Daz's team credit, I ordered it last night and it was already mailed today with a tracking number. That's by far the best customer service I've seen from an artist. (Paris is solid, too.)
-
I've never had issues with buying stuff from Daz, even on the old DPG site where some had issues I always received my stuff and this newer site has been brilliant so far in sending cds out, bought his last couple straight from there in the past. Although the postage for the clothing is ridiculous that's why I've never bought any of that.

it doesnt cost 7.50 to ship something to cali, i can tell u that....but daz got dedicated fans, so that might just work

It might cost that much if he uses Priority Mail USPS for shipping CD's, otherwise, if they use Media Mail or First Class, then he definitely over-charges for shipping...

I totally agree with you, but nowadays some of these rappers use Priority Mail, it was the case with new CD albums by Big Tray Deee - 3rd Coming and MC Eight - Which Way Iz West, they charged for & used Priority Mail for shipping, but those album were released in cardboard sleeves, not even jewel cases, and I had to pay for priority mail, which they could charge $3 for First Class (or even Media Mail) and send it via those cheaper services easily...

Spent the last few days listening to this...most of the album is straight fire. Daz came through on this one...I dare to say this might be his best work since Revenge Retaliation and Get Back. For a double CD, there's always gonna be some filler or not so great songs, but I figure might as well release them all and let the listeners decide which ones they like and don't like. I can narrow this down to one CD and make a banging album, but I'm not mad at all he put other songs on it because they might appeal to other people. Amazing how someone like Snoop has an unlimited budget and can't get it right, and Daz finally comes through and nails it after so many subpar albums. Love the talkbox on some of the songs. Songs I'm feeling:
Hard Life (top 3 songs from the album, hopefully we hear more from the Twinz this year)
Dazamataz
No One Duz It Better
That's My Baby
R U Single (Suga Free kills it with his usual one liners, classic)
This is The Shit (Soopafly hasn't sounded this good in years)
I'm Feeling You (The girl talking at the beginning is annoying as hell, but the song is awesome)
Curious (Top 3 Song, fire)
It's So On (Good to see Latoya back on a DPG release)
Sorry Bitch (Kurupt brings back his classic 'bitch' raps from his Streetz Is A Mutha days from his 'Your Gyrlfriend' song)
When Life Calls (haven't heard this sample done since Coolio did it on his 3rd album "When Night Falls")
Lil Black Boy (Sounds like some old Kanye/Common type vibe, nice)
Violation (straight classic dogg pound)
This One For My Niggaz
West Coast (Top 3 song, 2018 summertime anthem)
The rest of the songs are meh, ok. Maybe they'll grow on me after a while. I liked Bang Bang for a while, but that whole "Double cup...." line that he says so much throughout the song annoys me now, I like the beat though. Hard in the Paint is good too, just not as good as the other ones, sounds like classic Death Row Daz. Sure we've all clowned him and he's released some terrible stuff, but give credit where credit is due. He came through big time on this album. He really put it down for the Westcoast and got a bunch of the old crew on his album. Only person missing was a Warren G feature and maybe Butch Cassidy. Ashame this won't get no radio play or any sort of marketing behind it. It deserves to blow up. Hoping for more stuff like this in the future.

I don't know about radio play (I'm pretty sure they're playing some of his new stuff on K Day though) but apparently there are billboards promoting the albums in LA, Daz posted the pictures on his IG. He was on Big Boy's show promoting the album too, and he's really active promoting the album and putting out merchandise. My take is Daz is focusing on his fan base which is mostly older heads and euro's, hence his being active on IG.

That's good to hear, he deserves some success from this one. Cool that K Day's playing his stuff. I'm from the Midwest and we don't get any good songs played on the radio except the usual top 20 bullshit repeated day after day hour after hour.

im amazed at how bouli knows shit like what kday is playing out here lol

I follow the likes of tray deee, daz, Cecilia the mamacita etc. On instagram so I have a glimpse of the stuff they’re playing, I think daz posted videos on his IG shouting out Kday for playing his shit, old and new. There’s also the beginning of the video « on the west coast ». My gf has family in Long Beach too so when we visited them I mostly listened to kday in the car, lol.

Isn’t there an « old school » type of radio station in you area ? I know in NorCal they have one, same in LA, and in NYC too. I’m guessing it’s a pattern they’re following everywhere in the US, isn’t it ? I hate commercials sonI never listen to the radio.

thats what i talkin bout, 100$.
oh, and its official?
its a double cd?

Nope, nothing like that here. If you have XM you can get a couple of old school rap stations, but even they are very repetitive.

Yeah, it's a double CD and Daz signs it. No need to pay $99 for it, though.
One thing I noticed is some of the dialogue he samples skips--it seems like it was done intentionally as the music doesn't skip. Kind of annoying. Other than that I really like the album, especially disc one.

Thanks.

I'm was feeling disc two more at first, but disc one is starting to grow on me more. Seems like the more 'current' sounding songs are on disc one, and then more of that throwback sound is on disc two. With some exceptions of course. I'd move the Twinz song to disc two, as well as 'no one does it better' and dazamataz.
ps - I have no idea who "Willie Mammoth" is, but that has to be one of the best rap names that's come up in the last 5 years or so.
-
finally got around to this .. wish he woulda narrowed it down to one disc, but it’s definitely a solid project. disc 2 is better to me so far, the suga free joint is a classic “bitch slipped on her drink and i was rollin” yup
-
been knocking this some more..this woulda made a great album:
hard n tha paint
bang bang
ain’t the same
hard life
no one duz it better
niggaz know
r u single
this is the shit
it’s so on
sorry bitch
when life calls
violation
show some respect
n my blood cuzz
this one 4 my niggaz

-
my bad, sorry.
-
I liked Dazamataz. I kinda tripped when he said all the bitches round his was was crazy and dgaf but Black Boy was deep. Fave joint was Rich N Famous.
-
Still a dope album.
-
I'm still bumping this album on the regular. In addition to the songs I previously mentioned as being incredible, there are some sleeper joints that are starting to grow on me; Fucc Dat Talking, In My Blood Cuzz, Niggaz Know, and Ghetto Bird were all songs I wasn't initially feeling, but now I really like them as well.
Easily album of the year for 2018 in my eyes.
-
most definitely
disc 2 is some of his best work
-
daz put out a good one....
still waiting on that daz-kurupt DPG tho

Me too, the couple of songs he played on the Dazamataz preview video sounded dope. Sound was in the same vein as Dazamataz. I hope the DPG album is still a go.
-
Re listed the album on a long ride, and better than I remembered.
-
It's a shame this album isn't distributed worldwide.
