i dunno if this is real, but sounds dope to me 8)
-
This was recorded during Detox sessions, nobody said it's off Detox (don't trust the DJ's). Produced by DJ Khalil and probably mixed by Dre.
-
All these Dre-associated tracks being released lately...seems like the start of a promotion push for Detox.
Could just be hype for Em and 50 tho.
-
Its not a bad song but I hope it doesnt end up on Detox. I think people are saying its gonna be on 50's record.
50 does say "Its the D-R, its the D-R-E", so I wonder what Dre's involvement in the song actually is.
-
maybe they're gonna pretend he produced it. we aint that stupid though, its sounds pure khalil to me. maybe dre mixed it or some shit.
-
and...1...2...3 let the Dre hate begin. Haha
Sounds dope. I like whats going on here. All these tracks being released by Dre or 50 is good. Time for shift from all the Florida Tpain Lil Wayne Khaled stuff. not hating, but now there's option. They can still do them but the fans will have option this year.
-
actually the way 50 is shouting out dre at the start this probably is some detox shit (well not any more). sounds pretty damn dope but goes along with the idea that detox is going to have a serious commercial twist on it.
-
The song is actually Bishop Lamont ft 50 and R kelly.
It's getting played on nyc radio

yup, download ^^^^
-
Yeah heres the full song NON-RADIO rip (its tagged by a website though), featuring Bishop Lamont as well.
http://sharebee.com/c89be41b
I can't actually tell if Bishop was actually meant to be on this song or not, but it sounds real enough. His delivery sounds kinda forced though... 50's verse is better.
-
Sounds like a Detox-reference track. Bet Bishop was laying vocals as a guideline for Dre, like Em on the OG version of "Crack A Bottle."
-
sounds hardly anything like Bishop
-
it sounds like obie trice
got the no-dj version of just the r kelly and 50 song

-
It Could Be a reference Track for dre...who knows...Thanks to Dubcnn!
http://www.zshare.net/audio/538212716e4e41c1/
-
hmm..its this fo' real??
-
i'm glad this shit is leaking won't be on detox now. we didn't wait 10 years for dre to drop 1 verse on a r&b song that isn't even produced by him. its a cool track though 8)
-
Naaa i really think Detox' tracks are gonna be much more fire than that..
Damn Bishop sounds like an onther guy i don't remember his name.
-
^^^^
Like Dre, 'cause I think Dre supposed to rap this shit
Just like the Crack a Bottle joint..
With the D R at the begin & the voice sounds just like dre
-
Pretty sure that's Slim The Mobster on the reference verse.
-
props lee that version is HQ and with a longer intro although its missing that first verse. dope enough instrumental though 8)
-
Pretty sure that's Slim The Mobster on the reference verse.
yeah i got the same felling
-
Pretty sure that's Slim The Mobster on the reference verse.
Was just about to say that, that's definetly not Bishop.
-
change the topic title, as it is misleading
-
sounds like bishop doing a bad dre impression.
-
sounds like bishop doing a bad dre impression.
Eh? It's definetly not Bishop.
-
really? i don´t know his voice is also strange to me,but his flow...remains me of him...maybe he was ill.
-
what a shitty song by the way
-
Definitely Slimm The Mobster, I like 50's verse on this, tracks nice on some smooth shit
-
I wouldn't call this a shitty song, it's actually a very quality smooth joint. We already know that Kellz is one of the best rnb artist out when he's focused and not doing bs like "I'm A Flirt". And he came correct on this song and with 50, you can tell he was coached by Dre on this one, look how long his verse is and how more focused he sounds, with a much sharper flow than usually.
But the thing is, this is not something I want to hear on Detox, put this on 50's LP. Crack A Bottle on the other hand, is something I want from Detox, mature club shit right there.
-
okay thanks for the info guys i changed that.
-
didn't the person who originally told us about the joint say it was one of the best songs recorded for the album. enough said really.
-

the song should be miles away from any project IMO.
to each his own though ;)
-
cool record IMO
-
the post for this dissapeared off 2dopeboyz website. seems like somebody might be pissed off that this song leaked
serves dre right for thinking about putting this kind of thing on detox.

Two reference tracks leak in a month?man somebody is about to be blackballed from the industry
-
this shit bangs..fuck you wonnt? this shit is hard
-
sounds like a khalil production beat is off the hook though

ehh Sounds shitty

Honestly, I don't want to hear Crack the Bottle or this on Detox.
Anyone hear that Just Blaze Olympic Anthem? That's how Detox should sound but with a G-Funk, west coast vibe. Additionally, if Dre was working with a classical pianist, learning some very complex dope shit - then it should be very piano driven, west coast influenced but at the same time universally appealing; essentially a more complex version of Legend of the Falls Off beat on Busta Rhymes The Big Bang.
This is supposed to be Dre's magnum opus, his final release, the summation of his legacy. It should be complex, layered, and complicated but easily digestible. The lyrics should make me want to rewind. Fuck this club shit.
It Could've Been You sounds good for a 50 cd sans some of what R.Kelly sang. Crack the Bottle should just be a b-side or a mixtape track.
Edit: Finally, that ain't Bishop Lamont. It's got to be Slim the Mobsta or someone else.
Double edit:
Here's that just blaze track - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EYdi1etOdbc
Here's one with some dudes rapping over it, imagnie Dre on that shit. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h4RFHuIoENU
Speaking of which Imagine was some dope shit from Dre. I wouldn't mind him spitting some ill shit like that.
This is how the future of hip-hop should sound or at least the greatest hip-hop cd of this generation.

I honestly don't care what 50 gets. I hope they're tricking us all with this supposed detox tracks. As long as Detox is straight 50 can have some wack shit. I recall somewhere that Dre wasn't going to let his shit out not to oversaturate the market. I'm still holding out that this shit ain't representative of Dre's work/other producers work for Detox.
-
I cant believe I read all of these bullshit ass responses. Go Dre !

I cant believe I read all of these bullshit ass responses. Go Dre !
No Shit! This song is in rotation and the beat is banging. I'm guessing this is one of the songs from 50's new album and not a detox trax. I think it is funny that every time a new dre track or song comes out everybody is quick to talk shit. But then the same people are bitching and moaning about Dre taking too much time with Detox. If there is one thing that we've learned about Dre, it is that he is not in to rushing music out, just to get music out. When his album comes out it is going to be proper. I got an industry contact that said he heard Detox 2 1/2 years ago and that Dre wasn't happy with it. They said back then that Detox wouldn't be coming out anytime soon. As a solo artist Dre has two classic albums under his belt, he is not going to fuck it up by rushing another one.
-
This will probably end up being 50 Cent feat. Dr. Dre & R Kelly, and be on 50's album. The Before I Self Destruct tracklists floating around are fake.

oh come on, stop being a stan.
some posters are actually being reasonable
-
Interscope/Aftermath are heavily pushing Eminem and especially 50 Cent right now (on the internet at least) and there's a lot of talk about Dr. Dre... I think it's safe to say that -at this point- they are planning to release Detox.
-
Despite my high expectations for Detox which I don't think are unreasonable considering how long the album has been in making, all of the various details that have been revealed about Dr.Dre's training since 2001, and his quality beats released for other artists - I'd rather he release the album this year then not release it at all. I'd rather be disappointed by not meeting my standard yet still be better than a majority of the current mainstream rap. I think the worst thing about Aftermath is that they don't release CDs. I think Dre is stupid for caring too much about his legacy. You can only dictate it so much before future folks decide themselves.
-
i wonder how Slim The Mobster can afford a 50 cent/r kelly feature ::)
-
i wonder how Slim The Mobster can afford a 50 cent/r kelly feature ::)
Uh don't don't think it's as easy as Dre saying so, or Jimmy by him being an Aftermath artist. There's nothing to afford, 50 will just get on the track on strenght of Dre.
-
the quality of these beats and tracks wouldn't even pass for 2001 leftovers, these tracks wouldn't even make the cut for a 50 album. It's becoming obvious the real reason Dre hasn't dropped Detox yet is because he knows he mediocre he's become and nothing he will do can come close to his past work
so its on us now to just forget Detox and just let him scrap the album
-
You do know that this track is produced by DJ Khalil right ?
-
this would fit okay on bisd, got a nice vibe to it, something you could imagine on a 50 album but this better not be touching detox
-

the tracks produced by dj khalil ::)
But this is extremely obvious that Dr. Dre (and R. Kelly) has something to do with this track. This isn't all DJ Khalil- the 'sounds' used in this instrumental are too similar to Dre's and the mixing is too superb to just be a track only produced by DJ Khalil (which isn't even an album-mastered mix- do u hear the signature R. Kelly rain drop over the percussion? or the Dr. Dre Guitar chords and Synths? the clearness of the overall mix: listen to that new XZibit track and compare).
-
you haven't heard enough dj khalil tracks - this could easily be 100% his production. who knows though ;d
-
damn hadnt heard this
thought you was talkin about that lebron/juelz joint
that shit is dope
I hadn't heard that Juelz joint but it's hot as well. I could see a variation of that beat as well for my imaginary Detox.
-
its dope
its different
when that shit came it was crazy and suprisin
and another surpise was juelz verse on it wasnt too bad for the aite rapper that he was at the time
damn hadnt heard this

Thats not true and I've heard way more than enough of Dre and R Kelly songs in my lifetime so far. It has all of their signatures on there, mainly Dre. That Synth that "builds up" to the Rain Drops to the Bass Synth. I dont wanna sound jealous but it would be foolish to think that only 1 man made this track. DJ Quik is a producer/mixer-engineer who has been doing this for the longest, he has never made anything like this sonically and that sounds so ahead of it's time. I see where he would stand out in this track (Khalil) but speaking as a producer- who knows other producers who know other producers- something like this doesn't just come to you in a matter of 2 or 3 days or overnight for that matter (which at longest is normal for producers). Something like this takes weeks, maybe month(s) to get done. Listen to it again and then pop on another one of your favorite producers (just blaze/timbaland/9th Wonder/??? ??? ???) right after and you'll see a tremendous difference in quality/musicianship. I'm not saying we dont have a modern day music-van-goh but it's just way too advanced sonically for just one producer.
