Album's shaping up to be pretty nice, at least for beats anyway. "Here We Go" is a grower for sure...look forward to the video.

The interview with Stat Quo in Aftermath Music dot com

Aftermathmusic.com:
A solid amount of producers on "Statlanta." And the features on "Statlanta" are ...?

Stat Quo:
I've got Bilal, Devin The Dude and this new artist named Nikki Grier, she's crazy and works heavily with the Aftermath camp, she's dope. I've got Eminem and Scarface… I can't forget about him! I've got Young Buck. Dre's not rapping on the album… he's saving all the rapping for the DETOX, ya heard?!

Well, this is strange
Title: Re: PARTIAL CREDITS: Stat Quo - Statlanta

^^ Dre could be featured without rapping, e.g. ad libbing like he did on Xzibit's "X", or like on Phats Bossi's "Through The Rain"..

Title: Re: PARTIAL CREDITS: Stat Quo - Statlanta
Post by: es-jay on June 09, 2007, 07:22:53 AM
or maybe they decided to add a Dr. Dre verse from when that interview was taken.... or what Jome said.

Yer sometimes XXL review shit too early, take Devins album for example - reviewed it when What a Job wasn't on it so his best track was missing. Looks like it may actually be released now which is good!
Title: Re: PARTIAL CREDITS: Stat Quo - Statlanta
Post by: no1wammy on June 09, 2007, 02:04:49 PM
Seems that way. We'll have to reask Stat Quo about Dr. Dre's real purpose in the album, and whether XXL's tracklisting is accurate.

i honestly think he should make the remix of here we go the actual single. cause chamillionaire might give him a few extra spins. but who knows.

It seems that Stat and 50 both have a Dre-produced song titled "FIRE". I wonder if it's the same beat. If it is, than one of those two artists will have one less Dre track. If it isn't, than one of those songs may have a title change.

50 said he wasn't pleased with that record whereas Interscope wanted it to be on Curtis ... looks like it won't be on 50 lp

What happened to the Focus track? The one he was talkin' about like 2 years ago he said he only used live instruments for it and all that, sounded like that track was gon' be dope as fuck.. but looks like it didn't make it.

Lol, Eve also has a Dre track called Fire on the new LP:

Eve says she and the Doc are still all good. He did one song for the album called "Fire," and there's a possibility for more before the deadline.

"Dre likes when projects are done when you come to him. He'd rather it that way, so it's cool," she said.

Shocker:

Stat Quo's Shady/Aftermath Debut Pushed Back
Posted: 08/23/2007

Stat Quo's Shady/Aftermath debut "Statlanta" has been pushed back from an August 28 release to sometime in October.

Stat will soon release two videos for the singles "Here We Go" and "We Get Higher".

Production on "Statlanta" comes from Eminem, Dr. Dre, Three 6 Mafia, Marc Batson and more. The album features guest appearances by Dr. Dre, Eminem, Scarface, Devin The Dude and more.

Stat Quo is only the second artist signed under both Aftermath and Shady with the first being 50 Cent.

Title: Re: PARTIAL CREDITS: Stat Quo - Statlanta

I don't think "Fire" will be on there.
Title: Re: PARTIAL CREDITS: Stat Quo - Statlanta
Post by: ATK on August 30, 2007, 02:38:57 PM
why not? Im pretty sure the 3 "Fire" records dre did for Eve 50 and Stat are all different with different beats and all just same name. And stat confiremed that he worked with bilal and its on that track.

I have high hopes for this album, but if they are going to release it, they better start promoting. I man they have the Here We Go video, and it was relesed on iTunes, but not as a single yet. And only 2 months before the album drops. Probably wont be comming out for some time.
Title: Re: PARTIAL CREDITS: Stat Quo - Statlanta
Post by: treydcrazy on August 30, 2007, 05:19:15 PM
Stat did an interview with some site saying the albums not coming out til next year. But that Here We Go is cancelled as a single. GRITS is the hype single and We Get Higher is an internet-only video. He wants to have the hype Game had going into his debut at the new year.
Title: Re: PARTIAL CREDITS: Stat Quo - Statlanta
Post by: es-jay on August 30, 2007, 05:42:42 PM
yeh, it would seem "Here We Go" didnt get the reaction it was expected to do (maybe due to bad marketing...) and now Interscope have pushed the product back (further...) because they knew no money would be made. They just gotta hope "G.R.I.T.S." blows up, same with "We Get Higher" the continue pushing the record. Hopefully October/November would stick but it will probably be '08 for Stat...
Title: Re: PARTIAL CREDITS: Stat Quo - Statlanta
Post by: ATK on August 30, 2007, 05:57:44 PM
Well thats Interscopes fault for not promoting it, thats them loosing what I think could have been good money. But this album seemes like it will turn out to be hot, and this is Aftermath things should be running right. Stats been there to long to not have his name big out there.

6. They Call Me
Produced by Dr. Dre and Nottz

13. What They Call Me (Stat Quo)
Produced by Dr.Dre

"They Call Me" and "What They Call Me" is the same track I believe. The song "Stat Quo" is now called "That's Him", I think.

Also, the album cover you have in the first post is a fan made graphic.

still not convinced stat is gonna be coming out. at the moment its looking like he's gonna be dropped, no decent promotion whatsoever...where is the video for here we go? i mean people i know who heard the track thought it was really hot. it just needs a push to get heard out there by more people...

Exactly. Here We Go could've been huge. If Interscope fucked up this track, there's very little hope for Stat.
Title: Re: PARTIAL CREDITS: Stat Quo - Statlanta
Post by: Makaveli's Food & Liquor on September 29, 2007, 04:31:28 AM
It seems as tho interscope don't view Stat's album as a main priority and more of just an album that they need to try and drop when theres the slightest oppurtunity, which is sad, and the longer this saga goes on it just ruins the release dates for artists such as Bishop (who cud easily end up like stat if his first single doesnt create the buzz wanted by interscope), Joell Ortiz (who in all honestly i dont think will ever drop an album) and ultimately Dre's Detox, which seems to get bumped back further all the time, cos it was meant to drop in septemer (but instead 50 did), now it won't come till the summer of next year, but there's still Em's new album, G-units album, 50's BISD album, Eve's album, i think a D12 album and even Stats album which are all meant to be dropping before then not to forget Bishop whos meant to be droping before Detox, this is meant to be happening 100%, since Dre wants bishop to create buzz for Detox, so i view it as if Bishop gets pushed back = Detox gets pushed back......so i think all of this are signs that some people are gonna be getting dropped because i'm sure that wen Dre finally drops hes gonna want and open field whereby he can get the most promotion etc, so i think its likely that stat'll get dropped and if hes dropped theres probably a high chance that he'll lose most of the songs hes already completed, and even tho Interscope are the bastards they are, i dont see them making Stat leave with nothing after waiting 3/4 years on the shelf, so i think in the end stat mite just end up dropping so that his albums out of the way, instead of dropping with the major promo that he deseves...
