Read the book the year Babe Ruth hit 104 home runs. There is a section just for that. And for the record he has played black players and even went yard to dead center field against Stachel Paige. Buck O'Neil said it was the only time he saw Stachel speechless. But I guess Buck is a a Uncle Tom right ? Oh BTW Babe was 43 when he hit that shot.

Then where are all the lack player stats now? Ruth still has top 5 numbers in almost every category. Same with Cobb. Blacks have been playing in the MLB for over 50 years now. And Ruth's stats are still as good or better than the best black players.

As a batter starting with his firat full year as a batter in on base%, slugging%, runs, RBIs, HRs, and came 5th in doubles. The year before that he lead the league in home runs and pitched for 13 wins that season with a 2.22 ERA. From there he'd constantly lead in at least 4 or 5 categories. He onlt got the MVP once because in the 20s when he was in his prime you were only allowed to win 1 MVP. The rule changed later but if it didn't he may very well have had 6 or 7. And if it existed in his first 5 years he could have had another 1 or 2 MVPs. The numbers are there just look at them.
As a pitcher he only started 4 or 5 seasons but 2 of them were over 20 win seasons with around or under a 2.00 ERA. In game 4 of the 1918 World Series Ruth pitched a 2.00 and scored two runs in with a 4th inning triple. The closest anyone has come to single handedly winning a game in history.

It's a lot more deeper then that. Don't get me wrong if a player like say Josh Gibson played in the big leagues for the same amount of years that Ruth did there is no denying Josh Gibson could of put up similar stats. But Babes stats wouldn't have suffered as some would like to believe.

The difference with Ruth and Gibson is that the MLB is a lot easier to judge. The Negro leagues were a lot wilder in the teams they played and the stats they kept. A lot of great fielders, runners, and hitters came from the negro leagues after the door was open but how many great pitchers really? The pitcher isn't the QB of baseball in most common fan's eyes so I don't buy that the league to this day purposely kept them out. Bob Gibson was there ad shining. White pitchers were dominant in the 50s, 60s, 70s, and 80s, and even now. Why? I don't know. I tend to think pitching was more highlighted in the white baseball communities but I can't back that up. I assume it's the same reason why white RBs aren't all that great compared to blacks as a whole. There is a greater RB culture in the black football community.
