:puke: :puke:

LOL @ The Haters with nothing to say. Nelly has now just collabed with the hardest from NY (Fat Joe) and one of the hardest from L.A. (W.C.). Game recognize... Nelly has never claimed to be anything he wasn't. Everyone's mad cuz he sings, but they steady on 50's nuts.
Good for W.C. Maybe Nelly will help him make some good music, since it's been a while for him.
-
Anyone got a link?
-
This sucks. I don't even think I want to hear the song.
-
actually on the subject of Nelly...
He is a blood and was a real dude on the streets. Funny part is if he wanted to he could promote that but he doesn't; he just does what HE wants to do. i don't bump his music but i respect his hustle. Unlike certain fake ass MF's in the industry.
-
This just sounds wierd. I dont have a problem with Nelly, but collaborating with WC doesn't sound like a good mix of styles. I'll wait til I hear it before I knock it.

my thoughts exactly
-
How come no one talked when Snoop and Nelly did stuff together but now they do with WC.....Alot of people may not like his music but you cant knock his hustle!!!What cd is this off of or where can people hear it....I hate to admit but people should listen to it before they judge it...

fa real man i can respect nelly. he aint ever came out & claimed to be no gangsta or nothin, all he's about is makin good music. we need more artist like that.
but i do think this is an add combination
-
I have read a couple Nelly interviews, and I can honestly say he has his head on straight, but I just really dislike his music. And he knows he is a sellout. There are better things in life than money.
-
In what way did Nelly sell out? He came up the respectable way. He sold huge units independently and Universal came and signed him. His first album was mainly old material that he had released Independently. So, exactly, how did he sell out?
-
anyone have the link to the song or anything
-
actually on the subject of Nelly...
He is a blood and was a real dude on the streets.
lmao @ this bullshit. please stfu.
-
nelly actually makes some good us party type songs, i think he wsa garbage with the whole singing love song shit but hes got his own unique style and i think wc would rip one of those uptempo tracks and it'll be good to see him get some exposure
btw whoever said he is a real blood or whatever he actually supposedly was a crip in stl
-
nelly is cool
-

Can you elaborate more/as much as possible please? I'm always interested in hearing how people came up.
-
Well, Mobb Deep made a track with Nelly, and it came out dope, so why not W.C..
As long as W.C. get all Snoop, it's ok.
-
nelly is wack as fuck. looks like wc gonna start to go the sellout route. that sucks.
-
Damn this song is tite as hell, WC completely rips it. Nelly is only on the hook anyways. Head over to the Hookup Spot, itll be up there in a few minutes.
-
damn hook up spot lol.

Selling out, by definition, is the exploitation of one's self. I think Nelly has gone above and beyond.
-
damn, not a collabo I ever wanted to c
-
Nelly is wack but I'll look forward to hearing the song.
-
This songs is REAL tight !!
-
Selling out, by definition, is the exploitation of one's self. I think Nelly has gone above and beyond.
He exploted himself how? By creating a Clothing line? Beverage? Being a Business Man? I don't see how he exploited himself. I think you're just the epitome of what some will call a.... Hater.
-
fuck nelly
-
hmm i dunno what to think.. This shit produced by trackmasters?
-
Its a pretty tight track. If he would just throw out the Nelly part and stick in Nate Dogg I'd be happy.
-

Ask East Coast folks who's the hardest out there, Fat Joe and M.O.P. will be the names you hear. Keep on sleepin', you'll just continue to not know (which is why you sleep in the first place.)
-
Whats wit everyone hatin on Fat Joe???I mean, yeah I made a few hate posts against him cause he's not the beast like he once was on the mic but he's still cool. All I gotta say is D.I.T.C. for the folks that dont know hip hop.
-
Most of Dubcc is funnystyle. They say Fuck the Radio/MTV but they steady listening all day long. They hate whatever is on it. Yes, Fat Joe has made a few songs with some R & B artists, but they were all hot. He still comes hot on some ill spit shit. But its the Haters loss...
-
Nelly is definitely a sell-out. Not in the beginning, because when he first came out I kinda liked him for doing his own original style. But
then a couple years later he did the ultimate sell out move by trying to reach for an even larger audience by making corny soft pop records with 1.Nsync 2.Kelly(destiney child) 3.Justin Timerlake!!!

How am I a hater when I clearly stated that I think he is a good person? In his interviews, he seems very intelligent and respectful. I just don't enjoy his music in the least. His music is quite annoying. He is a sellout because he uses his songs to promote products and he gets paid for it.
A hater is someone who wants to see someone's downfall. I don't care if Nelly is around for the next 50 years. He can do his thing, I just don't like it. Not everyone is a hater cause they don't agree with you.

LOL. "Country Grammar" was poppy. "Come And Take A Ride" (or whatever that was called) was poppy. He never changed his style, he just starting collabing with people outside of Hip Hop (showing growth). So yea...

He's a sell out for promoting his OWN products? LOL. He's a smart business man.
You don't need to agree with me to not be a hater, you just need a competent reason for calling some a sell out. Mad because someone uses their music to make paper is well... Hating.
-

You call working with NSync growth???

Ummm..."I need two pur"...
Need I say more?
I don't care if he surpasses Bill Gates with the money he makes. You act like I hate him cause he is rich and famous. I don't. I just don't like his music. THAT IS IT. It's just a preference. Don't get it twisted.
-
Yup. Music never grows unless it starts to Mix with other genres.
If Run DMC never made "Walk This Way," would there be groups like Rage Against The Machine, Linkin Park etc.? Maybe not.
Where's the out-rage for Nelly working with Jagged Edge? The only difference from their music to N*Syncs is that they're a little more thugged out. Their outlook on music is damn near exactly the same.
And speakin' about "Two Pur." I guess you're callin' Run DMC sell outs right? "MY ADIDAS!"
-
Run-DMC didn't get check cut to them for making the song.
-
Run-DMC didn't get check cut to them for making the song.
They may not have got a check, but I bet they got a whole lot of free Adidas shoes, sweat suits and what not. Which is still one in the same.

I bet they didn't. Matter of fact, I bet Adidas thought the song was detrimental to their image just like everyone else back then who though rap was just a fad.
-
LOL. Well, until you can prove they didn't get any kick backs (Which would be very unbelievable considering the trend it started) they are no different than Nelly.
Plain and simple, you say you don't like his music, but you're beef is that he made a song about shoes and got paid for it. What's your beef? That his music is wack or that he's getting paid to make songs?
-
I don't think you can compare it with Aerosmith cause that's Rock. Since the beginning Rap and Rock/Punk were always both considered rebel music which were real close to each other. Nsync on the other hand is one of the most soft mainstream boy groups you can think of. And if making songs with them ain't selling out I like to know what is.
-

Okay, here's the deal. I said he's a sellout cause he got paid to promote shoes. There is nowhere here or anywhere where I said I don't like him cause he is a sellout. I could care less if he's promoting Gold Bond in his songs. He makes music that fits his image, be it with NSync, Tim McGraw, or whoever else he so chooses. I have absolutely no beef with that. I don't listen to his music because I just don't like it. You don't seem to get it. Different strokes for different folks. He puts out CDs I don't have any interest in. Don't get all uptight about it.
And as for your first comment, it's my word against yours. I can't prove anything and neither can you. We both can choose to believe what we want. It's just an opinion. As soon as you can get that through your head, this thread might be able to continue.

Way to go. You proved your point. I have never listened to more than 5 Run-DMC songs in my life anyways.
You act like this is a conquest or something, like I'm actually gonna listen to Nelly now. I don't care. Run-DMC are sellouts too then. And whether or not you like it, it's still my opinion and you aren't gonna change that. So you go have fun listening to Nelly while I listen to the stuff I like. The world continues to turn, unless of course, you have a problem with that too.
-
I dont even like Nelly's music really. LOL. I just like pointing out haters. I feel you're a hater for being upset at another man making paper, plain and simple. Keep it movin'...

I think you just like stroking your ego. I already told you I don't care if he sells 100 million copies with his next release. I just don't like his music. How many different ways can I say it? Maybe if I said something along the lines of "I can't believe WC made a song with Nelly. He needs to go away," I might be able to comprehend why you are getting so upset about this. It's almost like you are hating on me for disliking Nelly's music.
People have different opinions than you. That's how the world works. Let it go.
-
If you got no problem with the money he makes, then why bring it up? That is what leads me to believe you're a hater. If it was un-important to you, it wouldn't have came up. But, it did. You came off as a hater. All I did was point that out. Now you're back peddling.
Fine, you don't like his MUSIC. Don't bring up his being a "sell out" if, 1, you can't prove it. 2, it doesn't matter to you.
-
Nice song!
-
GARBAGEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
I just HATE the production for this track... WC comes quite strong, however Nelly doesn't fit in and the beat is straight up WACK imo. This is exactly what I don't want to hear WC doing in the future. Bring back that geeeeee shit?
-
the track is screaming saying am produced by rockwilder lol
he never changes style
same melody in all beats
any ways my only take on this WC nelly thing is
isnt a bit weird after what WC along with cube and mack 10 said about commercial rappers on terrorists threats???
so many rappers in love and all that
other than that nelly does his thang
i dont hate on him
-
Was Dub C not in the Air Force Onez Video? I remember the commotion because of that. LOL @ Everyone in an uproar because their precious gangstas are associating with Popular rappers they don't approve of.
-
shiiiiiiiit, the reasoning behind why nelly is a sell out is funny as fuck........no i aint sayin if nelly is or is not a sell out cuz i hardly heard any of his shit but i heard the usual hits everyone else heard of his but some cats on dubcc need to get out mo n check whats really crackin cuz bringin up real defined definitions of what a sellout rapper is.......lol@"expoliting ones self" like these niggaz be sittin in a english class taking a muthafuckin grammar test........shiit i heard some funny ppl on here claimin this n that be sell outs.......but now a nigga a sell out for promoting his own products on a joint!..............shiiiiiit i know if i had some shiit out on the line imma be making a full muthafuckin joint out tellin niggaz to cop it!
seeeeeeeeeen
-
Bottomline, this shit is wack as fuck...there is no way this some "evolveing" or "growth" or whateva tha bullshit u wanna stamp it as..this is just an attempt of gettin some paper, but sellin your soul in tha process and THAT is tha really sad part of this.
Peace

I'm not backpeddling. Selling out and making the kind of music he makes goes hand in hand. He makes songs for the clubs and for the bitches exclusively. It's all about radio play. Don't jump to conclusions just cause you don't understand my thinking. Those who make music for themselves and still get radio play are not sellouts. If you have to cater to someone else's wants, then you are.
And I'll bring up what I want to bring up 1. cause this is a hip hop message board, and we talk about stuff like that here and 2. cause I can.
Let's just end this with: I am right in my mind, and you are right in yours cause this is seriously going nowhere.

Hey, I'm just a smart guy. That's the way I speak and that's the way I type. I don't dumb my posts down cause it'll earn me cool points.
If Nelly wants to promote his products that's cool with me. If you want something to sell, you obviously have to market your product. That's business 101. But I guess my definition of a sellout differs from other peoples'. There isn't much else to say. If you don't agree with me, I'm not losing any sleep over it.

Nelly GET YOUR BARS UP BITCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

-
JEESUS CHRIST!
All I can say is that I"LL PAY DUB TO KEEP THAT TRACK OFF HIS LP!
Of all the people in this industry that he could hook up with, WHY NELLY!
I agree with some other posts on here about the Production being Lame. Just does not work. Dub has nice lyrics (bout the only thing ok with the song if you overlook the WACK BEAT and WACK HOOK).
DUB, come on G, you can do WAAAAAAAAAY BETTER THAN THAT!!!!
BANG LOOSE was one of my favorite cuts on the last album. Come tight like that, Hook up with Jinx, Quick, Ant Banks, J Steez, Storch, even your damn brother Crazy Tunes can come waaaaay tighter than that cut. Anyways, looking forward as always to the next Dub album, just will have to skip this cut. PLEASE Leave it OFF!!! AND Don't put it out as a Single.
WTF....Release that Julio G intro with KAM and B Real as your first single, THATS WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY HARDER!!!!
Peace Bitches,
T from the muthafuckin E S O
Anyone know whats up with Chappelle????
"LYRICS BANG HARDER THAN MOST NIGGAS BANG THEY HOODS!"
-
Gang Starr (STILL CRACKIN!) and M O P are damn HOT outta the East. Fat Joe is pretty Wack though, He was OK at best in the begining. Don't get me started of BIG PUN or even Biggie....RIP to both of them, but they were fuckin WACK!!!! WACK WACK!!!!! CALL ME A HATER I DGF! Biggie and PUN were WEAK!!!!! Can't even hold a match to 2Pac. Anyways, I lost track....oh yeah....MOP is cool, check them out.

Nelly's fan base from the get go has been females and clubs, why stray from that? Why would Nelly try to appeal to Backpackers? Gangstas? It makes NO sense. How is Nelly NOT making music for himself? You're really not making sense. Sorry buddy, your "reasoning" is very haterish.
-
lol@some cats crying cause nelly gets to work with cats like dub c hahaha, stop acting like bitches fo real, nelly has always done him,and even if he has some street ties why is it a must he put it out there, cats in here be acting like they the hardest get off that shit yell
-
I hate Nelly because he's more succesfull and has more money than me. And fuck him for starting a charity and giving back to the community!
-
The song is just bearable 2/5, but the chorus sung by Nelly is fuckin annoying, WC is dope tho, altho he sound out of place on tha beat.
-
beat sounds like ten crack commandments with a westcoast twist.
-
Seems like everybody makes music for the clubs these days. What a shame.
-
Mac 10 is dope tho.
i agree
-
The beat is crazy on this track. If this is what we can expect from Dub, then maybe its gonna be a dope album. And, as for the hook, it's very basic. I can't see anything really wrong with it. Don't see anything special about it either though.

There is just no getting through to you and I can tell you are just an instigator. How bout you stop trying to think on my level and continue to do your own thing. I'm not gonna explain it again.
-

LOL. Plain and simp, you're logic has too many holes. I shoot it down quickly and you have nothing else to say. Just keep it moving.
-
The hook is the only thing that can be disputed as being wack. The hook does its purpose, and nothing more. WC flows his ass off on this song, and the production is nice. I also liked the whip cracking noises, that was tite. Also, I'm thinkin this may be on "The Longest Yard" soundtrack because Nelly is in the movie and it seems like it could go in that movie. That's just speculation on my part.
-

I had plenty to say. This is like the 10th time I have replied to you. You just are thick headed and don't listen/understand. And in the end, I offered an out for both of us, but you seem determined to try to one-up me. Maybe you should keep it moving instead of dwelling on whether or not you think I'm a hater cause your definition of a hater has too many holes in it.
-

You're done? I hope so. Just stop, you've done nothing but show your haterism. Peace with that.
And, the song should be on that Nelly movie. The hook is talking about Jail, so it would make sense.

nope, Adidas praised the song, If you watch The Show documentary, Run DMC talks about first wearing the adidas at a show and throwing it up one day at a show, and the whole crowd went wild, and one of the adidas representatives was in the crowd, and right after the concert they were given promotional deals from adidas and considered like the official representatives.

In what way did Nelly sell out? He came up the respectable way. He sold huge units independently and Universal came and signed him. His first album was mainly old material that he had released Independently. So, exactly, how did he sell out?
A friend of mine told me he saw something about nelly on MTV and he they they showed old material form him and he sounded totally different, with a hard, dope style, not that annoying singin voice. If it's true then he obviously did sell out, he just started before he was signed which probably eventually lead to gettin the deal cause he moved those numbers cause of his new, commercial style.
-
All I Gotta Say Is....Nelly GET YOUR BARS UP!! Chingy GET YOUR BARS UP!! St.Lunatics GET YOUR BARS UP!! JA Rule GET YOUR BARS UP!! 50 Cent GET YOUR BARS UP!! GET YOUR MUTCHAPHUCKIN' Placement UP Niggaz!!
-

You wrote:

So my reply to that reasoning would be:

You also said:

To which I reply:
How is Nelly NOT making music for himself? You're really not making sense. Sorry buddy, your "reasoning" is very haterish.
You're reasoning behind saying Nelly is a sell out is non-sensical and comes off as if you, A. no very little about him and his music or B. just plain out are hatin' on his money.
A hater, to me, is someone like you. You downtalk an artist with VERY little knowledge of said artist. You are generally upset at his popularity and/or money.
-
Wow, you are reaching. I clearly said I respected the guy after I read a few interviews. And anyone who can't see Nelly is making music just for the charts doesn't know rap. You are right in one aspect though...he broke in to the mainstream with that...but he is exactly like MC Hammer...who happens to be a sellout.
Now I see why you almost have as much negative karma as you do posts. It's like beating a dead horse here and you just don't want to give up.
-
You are right in one aspect though...he broke in to the mainstream with that...but he is exactly like MC Hammer...who happens to be a sellout.
But, if thats the artist he's always been, exactly how did he sell out? Hammer I can see. He was trying make Gospel Rap, while dancing for the Adams Family at the same time. But, Nelly? I don't see your logic, at all.
EVERYONE makes their product to sell. EVERYONE. Coke wouldn't be in business if they didn't try to sell their products. Same is said for music. Nelly needs to eat, so he needs to sell records, PERIOD!
-
LOL @ You completely disregarding my comment about respecting Nelly after reading some interviews again.
Hammer was a sellout from the start. Just cause he had gospel raps on his CDs doesn't mean he wasn't. And you obviously don't know the rap game or it's politics. Radio play = DJ pay offs. EVERYONE knows that. I have taken into account those things, where as you think I'm putting the dude down cause I don't like his music and I think he's a sellout. I'm not over here pulling my hair out cause Nelly is on the radio. You are preaching to the choir. He can make his money anyway he so chooses. I have no problem with that.
There are folks like Nelly who get all this radio play in the clubs and whatnot, and there are folks who want to come up the right way and build a fanbase before they just go after money. Selling out is caring more about the money in the game than the fans. And like I said, I don't care if he wants to get his money. He markets his music so he can do so, and I don't happen to fall in that market. So you keep hating on me for my opinion if it makes you happy, but it's obvious that you keep on posting cause you think you have the answers to everything.
-

*Slaps forehead*
Check Nelly's Background. You think he came into this game paying off DJ's? When he was broke as a muthafucka 6-7 years ago, I highly doubt he could afford to pay anyone off. Dude sold like 10,000 indi units man! THEN and ONLY THEN did he get picked up by Universal.
You see what Im talking about man? You talk out your ass!!!
-
this beat is fuckin annoying as hell. I actually think I like nelly's hook better than this beat. what a waste of wc.
-
the track is screaming saying am produced by rockwilder lol
he never changes style
I refuse to believe that this is Rockwilder, in so case it's the worst beat Rockwilder ever did. ::)

That's exactly what i said in the beginning. I liked him in the beginning for blowing up doing his own thing. But then instead of saying I'm gonna keep continue doing my own thing he tried to reach for the biggest audience possible(selling out)by making collaborations with the biggest boy band Nsync. Did Dre did that when the Chronic blew up?? No. Did Too $hort did that?? No.
-
In what way did Nelly sell out? He came up the respectable way. He sold huge units independently and Universal came and signed him. His first album was mainly old material that he had released Independently. So, exactly, how did he sell out?
Can you elaborate more/as much as possible please? I'm always interested in hearing how people came up.

Dre produced "Rich Girl" for Gwen Stefani... :-X
UWA: Nelly was dropping material as a soloist in 98/99, he happened to push 10,000 units regionally, which then triggered Universal to offer him a deal. Thats the gisk of it.
-
Dre produced "Rich Girl" for Gwen Stefani...
You got a point there. But I don't think that's exactly the same because Dre already proved for years and years that he was capable of makin new stars and being the dopest hip hop producer in the game. I heard somewhere that Madonna or Michael Jackson even wanted to work with him in the mid 90's but he turned them down. Why Gwen Stefani I don't know but I know she's not as corny as Nsync.

M.O.P. worked with LFO.

SGV is the Hater Hater. He runs through the boards of WCC looking for haters, and then he hates on them 10 times harder! lololol
For real tho, people gotta realize there is a difference between selling out and buying in.

If you don't agree with me, I'm not losing any sleep over it.
yo dawg, imma smart nigga 2 still........and this the way i talk....i probably know mo than 95% of this board about hiphop.....i was raised on this shit since when i was in my moms stomach.....i didnt need no internet or slim shady lp to get me into hiphop......im just sayin i find ya version of a sell out fucked up.....

I haven't read anything really in this thread, but I just read your post. and you don't think snoop is a sellout. so that pretty much destroys anything you have to say about a sellout. I wouldn't say nelly is a sellout, cuz he is making the same shitty music today as he did when he first entered the rap game, and he has the same 12 year old girl fanbase today as he did when he first started making people's ears bleed. WC on the other hand took a sellout route with this track. although I wouldn't call him a sellout yet, unless his new album is full of garbage like this song.

Dude, Nelly Dissed KRS One. He Should Of Just Jumped Of A Bridge Cause You Can't Do That. NELLY GET YOUR BARS UP!!

Umm...Krs-One dissed him first. Nelly had every right to respond.

KRS wasn't dissing him and nelly should've gotten his facts straight before frontin on a legend like that
I told you I wasn't talkin about you then, but I'm talkin about you now[/]
-KRS
doesn't anybody know older material from nelly so he can confirm what my homie said, that nelly used to be totally different? it would make any further discussion about wheter or not he's a sellout needles and therefore save yall some time

well its nice to know my posts attract your interest, i dont your read your shit unless its a response to me cuz i realised a long time ago your shit was usually bullshit lol
plus the fuck do u know about sellouts? i remember we had a talk once about snoop being a sellout and i said it at the time snoop wasnt a sellout and you came up with some bullshit reason which pretty much meant every popular rapper in the game is a sell out.
most these white kids on dubcc dont know shit about a sellout, shhiiiiit to some cats, anyone mainstream and doing standard sold out..
-
If dead prez started making songs praising whites, that would be selling out. Xzibit dissing Gangsta Rap, then making Gangsta Rap, that was selling out. Snoop doing a song with Justin Timberlake is smart business.
-
snoop doing a song with Justin timberlake is selling out, but snoop sold out long before that. I'm not gonna get into it tho, cuz I could care less what you guys think. snoop is lyrical g's idol, and I probably made him cry with all my posts speaking the real on snoop, so I will leave it at that.

I find it funny that W.C. would do a track with Nelly when W.C. had a song called "Rappers in Love on the Radio" on the West side album.
