^ Good... I would expect it to go gold at least... but it probably won't hit platinum.

I regret even buying that garbage. It wasn't worth my money if you ask me.

Because when hi-profile artists talk about how good they are, and then don't sell crazy amounts, they get accused of 'falling off'.  Dre sold gold, that's respectable for a movie soundtrack.  But his last album sold what, 6 million copies?

Same with michael jackson, his new album is friekin' double plat, and everybody says it flopped.

Cool.. but I expect MJ to sell more than 2 million copies of his albums... "Invincible" went wood compared to "Thriller", the best-selling album of all time (42 mill. copies sold)...

Peace.

Benefit Of The Doubt
and no skits.

all these songs were bangin in my opinion I don't have many soundtracks where I like 10 songs.

I'm sure you wasted your money on alot less.

For a rushed album...the wash shitt's on most soundtracks..lol

Even the r&B on that album is blazin...and I hate R&B (unless it was recorded before 1985)...

Go buy the DvD and support the Wash...
Westcoast classic..

^^ That's what I'm sayin' too, people expect more.  Like, if you got a kid who's retarded, and he finishes a 100 meter relay dead last... you give him a medal.  If you got a kid who's an olympic trainee, and he doesn't come in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd, you yell at him and beat on him a little bit.  Since Mike and Dre are in a league of their own, their criticism equals their praise.

Oh, and I think Thriller pushed over 43 mill recently.  And that's worldwide... Invincible has done 7 mill worldwide 'this time around' .  It's only been out 4 months though, and 4 months into thriller, it hadn't moved 7 million copies... so he's actually, all things considered, outselling thriller right now.

I think people have to understand that the wash isn't a dre album or a dre&snoop album it's a soundtrack and for a soundtrack it's dope.and gold sales 4 a soundtrack is pretty good with very little promotion and one video that snoop wasn't even in

I bet if it had just one more Snoop & Dre song together....and a Hitt track..(maybe even a Ra track)
and this soundtrack would have broken the platinum mark easy....to bad they were rushed into it.

Hatesrats 2002

(Shiit I did my part...I bought 2 copies...on the official drop date...and when I bought the wash movie...on it's official drop date.)

i use to work in a record store and for a soundtrack to sell half a million records is very good, 90% of soundtracks barely pass the 10,000 mark. the only soundtracks that do BIG THANG are ones like Purple Rain (where 1 artist is featured through out an album, like prince) or if everything is precisly calculated with big names , big promotion and/or lots of money behind it , ala moulon rouge sndtrk and Coyote Ugly soundtrack. even classic albus like Murder was the case only go platnum, so for the wash (an obviously rushed and 'ok' album from the westcoast [which is in a comercial slump] with no promotion practically) to sell half a million cd's is pretty damn good

Both Above The Rim and Murder Was the Case soundtracks sold over 2 million...So did The Friday Soundtrack...I don't know gold is somewhat of a dissapointment I'm sure Dre expected this to go at least platinum with Bad Intentions being a pretty big hit...
