WOW they've added a washed up Mike Piazza. Dodger's are in big trouble.
-
Chris Young is gonna have a bad ass season with the Padres.
The two main teams rely on a lot of ifs...
Giants- Barry Bonds/Moises Alou/Armando Benitez
Dodgers- JD Drew/Eric Gagne/ The OF in General
Whoever is healthier wins the division

Padres ran the Dodgers without Piazza...AVG .251 | HR 19 | RBI 62 I'll take it.
-
He wont hit 15 HR's with the Padres, and will hit below .250. Your Padres are better off with Mirabelli and Ross

Piazza is back with the Dodgers? I remember when he was the biggest thing in baseball (at least in LA) back in his first run with the Dodgers...LOL...Does he really suck now? I don't really follow baseball that much.

Oh...LOL. Is he still any good?

He's been declining every year since 2000. Last year he still had good offensive numbers as a C though, but now he's moving to the one of the worst hitters park in all of baseball. His steady decline+moving to the worst hitters park= not so good news for the Padres

Right handed batters are not as effected in Petco Park.

You sure? I remember reading that it's the worst park for RH batters.

Im a mets fan, Kain you guys made a big pick up. You going to have piazza bat clean up. He'll make a good 6th hole hitter but he is in one of the worst hitting ball parks in baseball with vinny castillo protecting him and piazza himself is on a serious decline. And with catchers, there decline is a lot faster then other ball players.

Which parks have the lowest homer rates? Petco Park is the easy one, and it is the worst from both sides of the plate. For lefties, Petco is followed by Kauffman Stadiun (Kansas City), SBC Park (San Francisco), and Fenway Park (Boston). From the right side of the plate, Kauffman and SBC Park are again tough, along with Jacobs Field (Cleveland), Tropicana Field (Tampa), and Shea Stadium (Mets). Fenway Park and Jacobs Field are not generally thought of as tough hitters’ parks, but at least for homers there are significant platoon splits. Also, among the best pitcher’s parks for home runs is Washington’s new home at RFK Stadium. While there is not a full year of data yet, this park is proving to be one of the most difficult home run parks in baseball.
That's why they picked up some right handed batters.
