Title: Anybody have a 60 GB Ipod video
Post by: -Euthanasia- on February 09, 2006, 04:10:17 AM
i thought this one was the same size as the 30 GB video ipod but it turns out its only 10% thinner than the older ipods, whereas the 30gb is 45% thinner. whats the weight like? is it as heavy as the old ones, coz im using a creative zen micro rite now which is alot smaller than my old ipod and i was gonna go for the new 60 gb video, but now me not sure

my friend has one.. i dont kno much about ipods but i know its a pain in the fuckin ass putting 60 gigs of music on it. itunes is wack as shit and fucks up my comp. as for the weight and size it was smaller then my friends old ass one but again i dont kno shit about ipods. all i kno is it was a big pain in the ass to get all the music on that shit and i wouldnt spend 450 for something that requires so much work.

yea, i hear alot of people complain about itunes but - as i said - i had one before and had no problem using itunes. and the 60 gb wouldnt be music, it would be videos too. my old 40 gb ipod i only used about 10 GB which was fine. my zen micro is a little too small (5 GB)

they're expensive but i dont think there is anything on the market that does everything it does with comparable hard drive capacity in such a small package

I got a 60 GB Black iPod video...

The quality of the screen is awesome.  Very bright and sharp.  Very little set up work involved... install the iPod/iTunes software and simply plug in your iPod.  What ever music you have in iTunes will sync over to the iPod automatically.

I have most of the album artwork for my music in iTunes and it shows up very nicely on the iPod screen.

I have a clear hard case for my iPod which adds a little bulk to it, but as you can see from the photos below, it is still very small and very light (NOTE: The quality of photos from my phone sucks!)

From the 4-5 tests I've seen so far, Creative Zen Vision:M (http://www.creative.com/products/mp3/zenvisionm/) owns the Ipod video in every aspect, but they only have them in 30GB versions yet.

I still got my ole Black n White 4th Gen clickwheel 20 gig. Only use about 5gig but then my music library is under expansion...
I highly recommend any ipod, but i have yet to properly check the zens, however i suspect they're better...

I've only got the 30GB but my mates got the 60 and it's not that much heavier than mine. I wasn't too fussed about the weight cause i went straight from a portable discman so i was happy with anything better than that. My itunes is pretty slow but that's my because my computer doesn't have any hi-speed USB ports.

Since were on the topic...anyone know of a decent program to take the music from the i-pod on to your computer (i.e. when you get music of mates, etc) ? I got one i-pod transfer program but it constantly pauses halfway through asking for registration

Yeah, for those who need easy things I guess.. I'm more of the advanced dude. 4-6 buttons on a mp3 player never was a challenge to me.  ;D :P

If you change the properties of your ipod to un-hidden then you can see all your music on your ipod the utilize it.
If that's what you mean.

Believe me man... I'm the dude they run to in the office when they can't figure shit out on their PC's or Macs.  And it's usually PC problems... but that's besides the point.

There's a reason why the iPod is so popular: It is USED everyday.  And the reason people use them is because they are simple and intuitive to use out of the box.  Not much of a learning curve.  I agree that there are other MP3 players on the market that have more features than the iPod, but that's the reason why I think they fail to be successful.  People get them and they don't know how to get them going.  They get frustrated and simply don't use them.  It's always been about the music with the iPod.  That's its main function and Apple simplified the fuck out of it.  And that's the reason why it is so successful.  Its clickwheel design is a huge part of that.  It is easy and intuitive which leads to usability which in turn leads to popularity.
