that most peeps on this forum are gonna be disappointed with Rakim's Aftermath album (if it drops). Half of you guys who are dying for the album to come out haven't even really listened to Rakim, which is a fuckin joke in itself.
First of all, Rakim ain't gangsta, he ain't never even swore on a record! He doesn't make overly commercial music, and what makes him so great (his flow and lyrics) prolly won't even appeal to most of you who only like Westcoast music.........
why am i saying all of this? Cuz i am drunk as hell and i have been wanting to for a long ass time! otherwise, all you fools who are like "i ain't never listened to Rakim" are gonna be disappointed when he drops his album......peace

I don't feel you... I think the album will be blazing... though I haven't heard many Rakim albums... I got the feeling this album will be awesome... peace.

i havent heard all of rakims shit but i think that hes a dope mc. and this new album will be off tha hook. the best mc wit tha best producer is gon be blazin.

I've heard & own a tonne of Rakim ish, & I think thats one of his best attributes that he doesn't have to swear on his material. He's just a VERY classy lyracist, & if people who like hip-hop that showcases great/intelligent/deep lyrics then they'll love Ra. & i'm pretty sure people who love beats more than lyrics will love it too, with Dre & others producing it's sure to be a monster of an LP, something to suit every hip-hop fan.

i don't think the album will be whack, i think it's going to be on the level of stillmatic, but i totaly agree with teecee, just about everyone here will be dissapointed (who havn't heard rakim before)
if you havn't heard rakim before PLEASE do this before your go and buy OH MY GOD....
get paid in full. then get follow the leader, if you don't like them , don't even bother with OH MY GOD, if you love them , buy OH MY GOD, BUT don't think your going to be buying 2001, when you go buy his record.....Rakim is the difference between mexican and chinese food

this young bal teecee sounds like a fuckin joke.......my man how dare u even think of criticizing the god of rap......this album is bein made for a couple reasons.....dre said it himself he wants this to b the best hip-hop record ever........it will cause it will have the most talented lyricist of all time team with possiblt the best producer ever........ra is know for not goin to commercial shit cause he wants people's brains to think......bu wit dre producin this it will and rakim's lyrics will even force the most commercial fans to b like "oh my god" dem lyrics is str8 bananas......nas is startin to get play for "one mic" and that is a deep mutha fuckin song.........all we have to do is b patient........holla back ya'll

yeah maybe i came a lil to strong.....all im sayin is ra's always gone against the granis right, but everyone knows hes the dopest mc of all time........so wit dat, dre's producin his shit, the commercial world's gonna blow him up and wit that the world's finally gonna get smacked wit true lyrics.....u see we are basically the media, if we all go out and buy this record than the media will put ra on.......and i guarantee all the hip-hop heads will b blown away and here's the big one.....i think hip-hop will get a shit load more fans from all othewr types of music.....thats how powereful the "oh my god" record has the potential to be.....how do ya'll feel bout that....

It will be interesting to hear what he has to put out, since the expectations of his record are so high. Personally I can't wait to hear what he has to release. 'Strong Island' was tight song along wit 'It's a Must' feat. Rahzel. It'll be interesting to see wether what he does have to release could make it to the commercial scene. I'd rather hear what he has to release on the radio, than Ja Rule and Nelly.

im not a fan of rakim...i heard very few of his songs...really dont care about him....if he makes this album with dre then good for him...personally i think he shouldve stayed with eric b....ill listen to this album and ill probably support it cuz its touched by dre....but that will probably be the only reason...

sgv.....young bal everyones got thier opinion, but maybe u should read up on your facts man......obviously u dont bout the breakup of the legendary erc b and rakim......eric b wanted to pusue a solo career, and ra was cool wit dat, after that rakim had to sign a release for eric, and he did......but when it came time for eric to sign for ra he didnt return the favor, cause he was scared ra would blow up and would forget bout eric b.......those r the facts yo.......but yo just listen to the album "oh my god" and the lyrical unquestion ra posses and then tell me has or ever had the skill he posses......holla back

like i said im not a fan of him...so i didnt follow his career....i just know the songs he had when it was ERIC B AND RAKIM were alot better than the songs he had on his solo album....thats why i said what i did....ill listen to it....and i do respect good lyrics...so ill see

u know a rap artist does not always have to swear or be gangsta to be good? truthfuly....i aint neva heard a rakim song in my life and had never even heard of him until dre signed him to aftermath...and just cos he is now a product of dre doesn't mean i am in any rush to hear him.....and i will probably never buy the album unless he is hella dope....

Furthermore, i was a little drunk when i wrote this post, so i kinda forgot that Rakim swore some on his last album (even had a song called the shit). MY BAD....
Furthermore Bricklayer, why aare you calling me a YOUNG BAL? And what is that? I don't know how old you are, but i am 22, not exactly young compared to most peeps on this board.
