I'm going for Nate!
-
Smith again, for me.

I like Josh Smith too, it'd just be cool to see a 5'9" Nate do some extraordinary shit...
-
Cool. You know, IMO, ever since the Slam Dunk Competition with Vince Carter people have had extremely high expectations for the Competition and they really have overlooked how exciting some dunks (not really the competition) have been the years after.

Imagine a competition with Vince, Kobe, LeBron, J. Richardson, Ricky D, McGrady, Kenyon Martin, and a couple more of the high-flying big names (I remember there used to be like 8 participants in the competition)...Shit would draw MAD ratings.
-
Hell yeah. It will probably get more viewers than a Finals without the Lakers lol

They're never down...That's petty shit for them...Sucks, cuz back in the day it was considered an honor to be selected.

Nate Robinson is gona take it. I doubt Smith will do anything new, and people will be impressed with Nates dunking ability for his size.
-
Man i thought Gerald Green would be in it this year but i think Nate Robinson will be pretty impressive and win it.

whats up with Gerald Green anyways? Does anyone know if he sees the court? Havnt heard nothing about him this year. ???
-
They're trying to develop him until they think hes ready to start playing but i don't know why he hasn't played yet this season. I thought he would've had alot of minutes by now but he hasn't played in one game yet. I hope he doesn't turn into a player that the Celts don't know how to use and gets traded to a team that does.

He was sent down to the NBDL by Boston...He'll probably play either late this season or next season. I guess Doc Rivers doesn't quite think he's ready yet...Woulda' loved to see him in the dunk comp though...PeACe

Nate Robinson will win the 2006 Slam Dunk Competition on the 20th Anniversary of Spud Webb's incredible performance
I would love to see more superstars like kobe, lebron, vince, etc. play in the Competition
I really don't understand why they don't want to compete, the Slam Dunk Competition is my favorite part of All-Star Weekend
-
Of course its gonna be Nate Rob representin' UW baby
-
Too bad Spud Webb was 3 inches shorter and had better dunks...Oh well, Nate comes close enough. Someone post up some of his best dunks...
-
this year seems pretty weak than years prior but whatever i hope it's a good show. i'm mad because i see no big names out there and i think that shit is wack like someone said it was a honor to be selected now players could careless. i remember watching classic Dunk Competitions back with Jordan and Wilkins those moments were fuckin dope
-
only if mugsy could dunk........ :'(
my sig would be complete

Yea...Last years had Amare Stoudemire, which was the biggest name in the contest since Vince Carter. Nate will gain some recognition through this one though...

Mugsy Bogues COULD dunk...Good luck finding a picture though.

This one is fake, man. He has never dunked in the NBA, but in college and high school, once.
-
^ The real one is this one.

the contenders are jokes, is this the rookie challenge?
-
igudala is almost as bad as that other sixer that was in the dunk, im forgetting his name, him and allen were 'flight brothers'.. he went to washington i think... or allen in the 3 point, hahahha , comedy
-
Am I the only one who is depressed when looking at what the NBA has become? Couple years ago we had Carter going buckwild in the dunking contest, now we got players from the rookie challenge doing lay-ups as a dunking contest and mofos hitting 15 shots in the 3 pt contest who aint got shit on jeff hornacek.
-
After Carter the only real monster was been J Rich.

Realized it was fake...Good picture, none the less.
-
How lame@giving the trophy to Robinson just cause he's short
I don't like the "let's dickride Atlanta Hawks' slam dunk legends, to get higher scores" trend either
-
Andre Iguodala should of one the slam dunk contest. >:(
That dunk Iguodala started from behind the back board was phenomenal.
But I'm just one man with one opinion. What do ya'll think?
-
wow iggy got robbed. how u win after missing 13 dunk attempts. and wtf jumping over spud webb. my friend is 5'9 and dunks on ppl who are 6'7-6'8.
-
-Josh Smith fucked up by putting the tape down, his dunk would have gotten him at the very least a 47
-Iggy should have won obviously and he also had the best dunk of the night
-Nate was still impressive though...if he would have pulled up of the off the backboard between the legs dunk though... :o
-Every other year, Magic always says the same thing "The Dunk Contest is Back", just because Vince Carter's was just so fucking amazing, that should be the reason to say these competitions are wack. Every year there is always 2 or 3 dunks that are just nuts and really make the comptetition worth watching.

Nate was way more creative then Andre exept for Andres one dunk (behind the backboard alley oop jam) which was sick, But other then that Nates was better. Kobes a fag the only reason he was mad that Andre lost is becuase he told him to do threew the legs and he didnt win with it hahaah, Kobes a fag
-

Nate was not way more creative than Andre. Nate's dunks just look more spectacular because of his size
-
Andre's 3rd Dunk was so amazing too, and the crowd didnt even respond to it well. He did JR Smith's same dunk from last year, but started the dunk with the ball in mid air already.
-
this was the best dunk contest since vince
-

thats wat makes his dunks better if Nate were 6'-6'2..just imagien wat nate could do

But he's not that height, so you cant say he will automatically be more creative because of that.
-
Nate only won because they still patronize small basketball players.
LMAO@Bryant's face when Nate won the contest. First time I completely agree with him.
-
I liked Nate's dunks more overall...Just the fact that he couldn't get 'em down on the first few attempts fucked it up for him, but technically you're not supposed to get penalized on missed dunks this year (which I think is bullshit). Andre's dunks were great, but not mind-blowing...I liked the behind the backboard one, but the rest were pretty basic. If Andre was smart, he woulda brought a 7 footer onto the court and dunked over him right after Nate dunked over Spudd...That woulda' won it.
PS...Did Josh Smith ever comment on the reasoning behind the tape?
-
Pretty disappointing competition. I liked Andre's dunks more tho.
-
What was so dissapointing about it? We're never going to see a competition like in 2000 ever again, ever people need to stop measuring every dunk contest to that one. The competitions after that havent even been dissapointing...they are way better than pretty much every competition from 1990s.
-
Was Josh Smith smoking crack before the competition or what? He really was the whackest dude off all of them. LOL@the tape.
-
I still want to know what Josh Smith was doing putting the tape down. What was his motive behind that. My guess is that it was a marker for him to take his steps.
-
Everyone was obviously thinkin' he was going to attempt a dunk from the tape...If it wasn't for that, he definitely smoked some of Daz's crack before the game...
-
^ur right on that this guy did a poor job of defending his title what a fukin moron.
-
Seriously he should have jsut ignored that lol. I'm sure he had something very creative for the 2nd round.
