think about how clean that shitd sound, snoops laid back flow over a dre laced banger yeeeeeeeeeeah boy!
-
I think you've missed something.
-
That would never happen. Maybe if Snoop gets shot in his skinny ass Dre would reconsider and possibly make a classic with him.
-
once upon a time, there was an album called doggystyle
-
fuck dre snoop needs to hookup with that nigga QUIK
laid back snoop vocals + quik beats = pure coke

i would actually rather hear tht, same with a daz beat-snoop always sounds good over his and soopa cant forget him

Snoop is not lyrically worthy of spittin on a dre track these days. Then again, nearly nobody that spits on Dre beats these days is worthy, but it doesn't stop them. Snoop hasn't dropped a dope verse since "Big Business" on Swizz Beatz album.
I'll take HITTMAN over Snoop.
-
Snoops been dropping some dope shit lately. I liked his shit from the Suga Free remix and that Juliio G drop he did was sick!!!!
-
yea snoop needs to step his game up, dre prolly aint working with him cause hes tired of doin the same shit with him
-
the only person in the game i wanna hear over a dre beat right now is either bishop lamont or ice cube. cubes been tearin shit up lately, and bish is straight dope/ the next big thing
-
snoop over a dre beat is always a garanteeted thing in the future, until one of them dies

Hmm, that IS a good idea. Yeah, I can imagine that. I wonder if they know each other or ever thought about working together?
-
snoop on a dre beat??? yeah about 12 years back nowadays i don't want snoop any where near dre's beats.
-
Actually....I donno if y'all realize it, but Snoop ALWAYS brings his A+ game when he works with Dre. It seems like Dre pushes him, and others like Eve, to the best of their ability when they are on his tracks. Think about it, on Chronic 2001 and even on The Wash, Snoop sounded GREAT on the songs with Dre. The Wash song itself was a certified but slept on classic in my opinion. Even just hearin his adlibs and hook on Xzibit's "Losin yo mind" was dope as hell.
So yeah, whenever they do connect it's always good and Snoop does his thing. Lyrically, Snoop never did bring any heat, but times have changed and people value lyrics, mainly punchlines and multis, much more than just havin a smooth laid back flow and delivery, along with personality.
-
lets hope they hook back up
-
The funny thing about that "Wash" song is the interpolation. It's the riff from "Smiling Faces" and I think that's how they credit it on the album.... but it's also the riff from the chorus of "I wanna do something freaky to you"... which is also the same song (at a different spot in the song) that Dre sampled for "Nothin' But a G Thang". Go download all three songs and you'll see what I mean.

hey what happend to my "the game over a dre beat thread"? >:( ahhhh well 8)
-
Snoop Needs Dr.Dre & DJ Premier.. like that he will make a GREAT come back
-
snoop doesn't sound good on primo beats, the only time snoop and primo sound good together, is if primo is sampling cut off doggystyle
-
i have a feeling we'll see it sooner or later. i'm puttin my money on detox as the next dre-snoop collabo :D

snoop dropped heat on that "so fly" track with sugaf ree...

Snoop does sound good over promo's beats...Check Protectors of 1472 or The One & Only and he was good on "In this Life" also

The only person that is tight that raps over dre beats is Game and we will see how Havoc sounds over this Dre beat on Blood Money, But I dont ave much Hope For Prodigy hopefully he can sound nice over a dre beat.

Yeah I know exactly what you mean, it's confusing as hell. When I first heard it, the first thing that came to my mind was the Leon Haywood song "I wanna do somethin freaky to you", but then I heard Smiling Faces and realized it sounded just like that too. He samples/interpolates the strings from Haywood's song a bit.

I always considered "The Wash" to be a modern day "Nuthin' But A G Thang". Aside from the beats having similarities, lyrically there's a few throwback lines in there.
G THANG
"Ain't nuttin but a G thang, baaaaabay!
Two loc'ed out niggaz so we're craaaaazay!
Death Row is the label that paaaaays me!"
WASH
"If you tryin to get a dub sack, page me
The ho's say "D-Loc, you so crazy"
Poppin that shit don't phase me
I need my chips and the dip it's like gravy"
G-THANG
"Fallin back on that ass, with a hellafied gangsta lean"
WASH
"Fallin back on that ass, hit the switch and let the ass just drag"
G-THANG
"But uhh, back to the lecture at hand
Perfection is perfected, so I'ma let em understand"
WASH
"Now back to the lecture at hand
Perfection is expected and I'm feelin that demand"
Plus, they way they tride mic time on the track, back & forth...it's like the real sequel to "G Thang". Definitely slept on.
-
Yeah it really was...to me, the most slept on L.A. track since the 90s.

Your right man, Dre does bring out the best in Snoop.
-
I always considered it "The Wash" aka Nuthing But A G Thang Pt. II. Sampled the same song, definitely had that classic laid back G-Funk sound. For whatever reason, i wasn't feelin Dre & Snoops chemistry on it though. It sounded kinda awkward.
-
I think snoop is a big enough boss now that he probably doesn't want to take direction from a perfectionist like dre. Dre's beats require a tight flow like he had on Deep Cover. Snoop can rock a tight flow but he seems to prefer that lazy laid back off meter shit these days.
-
now poeple dont wanna hear snoop over a dre beat?lol, shiit people be some dumb fucks man, aint nobody fuckmin up a dre beat like snoop, put rakim on a dre track, put nas on a dre track and still snoop will come better than these niggaz and about snoop not spittin dope shit no mo, true his direction has gone wrong, but he spittin wackness? y'all need to stop listening eminem, snoop still probably the best in the game with nas, they the onlz real legends left in the game, jigga retired....eminem a legend to white boys but i mean the nigga put out 4 albums and even with that shit after 2 he couldnt get creative....snooop whether u like homie or not, always brings a new direction on each album, look at his last 3 for example......last meal, dope shit......ptctbtb......very different from last meal......not as dope but imo underrated, everyone complained about last meal not being consistant from top to bottom so he makes a album that was consistant from top to bottom and still got hated....but i thought that shit was nice.......then RnG.....which was again very different from his last 2 but weak, but again that was not cuz snoop was spittin like he washed up, its cuz of the direction he took..and even then he dropped heat like drop it like its hot, number 1 on the charts.....like it or not, snoop and nas are the only niggaz left who still know how to make albums.....look as jadakiss, dope lyricist, but he@ll never be compared to snoop, cuz he cant drop a sick album.....eminem, dropped 4 albums, sold millions but on his 4th album he looked washed up, didnt know what to saz, shits even worse than snoops worse and he'll never make a album of the calibre of dogystyle....cant beleive people hate on cats like snoop, his easily the most versatile cat in the game, i remember a while back i read a post saying luda or busta was the most versatile cat in the game, that aint true, snoop can spit on a joint like beautiful, to drop it likes its hot, to nuttin but a g thang, murder was the case, hennessey n buddah, on rock shit, pop shit.....and difference between him and other cats when he spits on different genres and style beats, it still seems easy and natural to him, only thing snoop needs is motivation and direction, thats where dre comes in
NIGGA IS LEGEND

by the way noone can still do it better than snoop n dre even if they aint made music together for a long ass time, noone really stepped up the to plate and brought shit since that you could compare to what snoop n dre did together recently
