After being bored and looking up "DETOX" on wikipedia (Pretty much an online encyclopedia that has pretty much anything)
however this stood out to me:
There have also been rumors that the famous producer had completed the album some time back but was not satisfied with it, and instead sold the beats to Aftermath artist The Game.
Does this mean that the beats we heard on the documentary were supposed to be on detox, but scrapped and given to Game? No wonder it was such a good album, I wonder if he will be given the same kind of beats for THE DOCTOR'S ADVOCATE.

This is dubcnn, I think your looking for http://www.theblackwallstreet.com/ . And your post should say "No wonder it had such good beats on that album". And remember Dre only produced 4/5 tracks, and only Higher was a classic beat.
-
i might cause a controversy for this, but i found westside story a better beat than higher, even though start from scratch was pretty good..
-
Lol rappers have been claiming that dre gave them his "Detox" beats since 2002. Like dre doesn't make new beats anymore.
-
westside story annoyed me it woz too simple higher was bangin tho man, i liked how we do the most tho the bass line woz amazin imma put this album on now!!!

I think you mean "2001" leftovers.
-
I've heard that a lotta beats were supposed to be on Detox, such as "In da club", but I never know for sure.
I know that he did finish it at one point in 2003, but he couldn't release it because of behind the scenes politics and financial issues. So it is possible that some of the beats that were gonna be on there have been given to other artists, but I couldn't really tell you which ones they were. "How we do" was a GREAT beat for what it was intended to be - a commercially upbeat club and radio type track that appealed to everyone the same, but I just don't see it bein on Detox. To be real, there have barely been any beats produced by Dre in the last few years that I really think would be on an album such as Detox, unless they were like the "filler but not really filler" songs on there, like how "Ho's a housewife" "Murder ink" and "Ackrite" were on 2001.

Both songs r sick.
But westside story simple and higher not?
Explain that...?

lol you've gotta be kidding.
-
Higher was the best Tracc on the whole CD.

whoa, for real? how do you know that?
offhand, i doubt dre would have used any of the documentary beats that he was involved with... don't seem good for posse cuts or his style.
-
why do so many people like higher? i like west side story and how we do a lot more
-
this cd is way too overrated, there are only like 5 good tracks
-
straight out of another forum i posted it in...since i feel like saying the same thing here.
ahh....reminds me of dr. dre with eazy-e back in the day. Dre leaves to become his own man and proves to everyone that he can do it, regardless of the fact that many thought he was the underdog. Hopefully Dre sees it this way and supports Game. I'm not saying that he should go against 50, but he can at least stay neutral and release his album while helping out with his album (production, mixing, etc.) Anyways Game is on his label, so I don't think this should be an issue, unless 50 cent holds so much weight at Aftermath/Interscope that he makes the decisions instead of Aftermaths CEO. Give Game a chance I say. If 50 cent is so confident that Game will flop then why would he want to cancel the album......because hes actually worried that Game might show him up this time around.
People will probably accuse me of being a Game groupie, but then again, I have all of 50 cents albums and think Get rich or die tryin is Great to Near classic. I AM LOOKING AT IT FROM A MUSICAL PERSPECTIVE.

People who personally know Dre and Neff-U n Big Chuck told me about the situation.

In Da Club was originally a D12 track that they passed up. Game said it on the Stop Snitchin Stop Lyin DVD.
-
I didn't read any posts except for the first one.
the Documentary was a very good album, same goes for the Dre beats. But if those beats were for DETOX, than I understand why Dre scrapt them. Those beats were very very dope, but not as good as any shit on the Chronic & Chronic 2001.
-
is dre gave those beats to game because they didnt satisfy him, imagine how good the beats on detox are gonna be.

If you heard it from Game, you'd better take it with a really large grain of salt. Game been lying about a lotta shit lately, so I ain't taking his word for it unless I hear somebody else back him up.

I had heard that about the In Da Club beat a long time before Game said it.

I find that believable but it is true about Game...

Yeah i know but Higher is still a good track. And quite unique. Kind of...

With the exception of Don't Worry, I think every beat that Dre gave Game was fire. Don't Worry was good, but it should've been given to Mary J's album instead. 50 also got some bangers for his project(s)...
Start From Scratch > Westside Story > How We Do > Higher > Don't Worry ( for Game )
Outta Control > Talk About Me > Outta Control Remix > Gunz Come Out > When It Rains It Pours ( for 50 )
